We found a tutor quite quickly and Kasham has turned out to be a great fit. He is patient and my son responds well to his tuition. Meetings and methods of payment are efficiently set up, so no extra admin. We will probably use more of their services over the next 3 years.

Kiran has an excellent teaching style and has helped my son understand some difficult concepts. He guides the session very well and provides clear feedback outlining what to do next. We are very happy with his tutorial sessions.

Cova is an excellent tutor who taliors her lessons to what I need and want to learn. She is extremely patient and is helping me build up my confidence with my spoken Spanish and a much better understanding of Spanish grammar.
I am taking a short break over the Christmas period and I am looking forward to coming back to my Spanish lessons with Cova early in the New Year.

have been working as a tutor for many years and have profiles on several platforms. TutorHunt is one of them – I originally set up my account around 2015/2016 and have taught students through it in the past.

More recently, I tried to reinstate my ability to teach via TutorHunt by updating my compliance: right-to-work and DBS. I submitted my right-to-work details back in May/June 2025, but my account sat in “pending review” for months. At the same time, I used TutorHunt’s recommended DBS route through their partner, Personnel Checks. That DBS application was later withdrawn because of an address issue with the provider’s system, and I was told I would have to pay again and start a new application. No DBS certificate was ever issued.

When I complained, I later discovered that TutorHunt had told their DBS partner that I was “not currently listed” as a tutor. That was very disappointing, because I do have a TutorHunt account and have been associated with the platform since around 2016. My profile appears inactive precisely because the compliance (right-to-work and DBS) has never been completed on their side – that is why I was trying to go through their process in the first place.

I also raised the matter with DBS. In their written response they confirmed that, in my case, the Registered Body’s internal processes “have not been effective”. Despite this, there was no meaningful support or protection for me as a tutor from TutorHunt when their chosen DBS route failed.
The result is that I have spent around two months unable to use my TutorHunt profile properly, lost the £61.50 fee for a DBS that never produced a certificate, and felt unsupported and unprotected by the platform and its partners.

This experience has shown me that this particular ecosystem (TutorHunt plus their chosen DBS partner) is working against me rather than helping me continue my tutoring. I have decided to take my teaching, and any future DBS applications, to other platforms and providers. I’m sharing this so other tutors can make an informed decision before relying on this route.

I do not wish to enter into further discussion about this – this review reflects my experience and I now consider the matter closed.

My daughter is very happy with her biology tutor Anna! Anna is always prepared, teaches with a great enthusiasm, and is very knowledgeable and always on time. My daughter really benefits from her lessons. The website works very well too.

This website just forces you and you feel like in a jail.
I want just one lesson, but it forces me to book repeating lessons which last forever.
So the lesson cost is £55 but it turns out the teacher gets just £37 from this and tutorhunt get 18.
So they force me to set up lessons repeating once a week forever, and for EVERY lesson they want £18 pound in their pocket. Are we living in an era of wild capitalism or even worse: slavery? These guys doing absolutely nothing get £18 from every lesson where the teacher works very hard first preparing the lesson and then teaching to say nothing of the travel effort to pupil's home. So if I study for year and take 52 lessons these robbers get 52x18 = £936 - what for??? I can see hundred thousands teachers on this website, so many billions do they steel from the public? Avoid at any cost!!!

I would recommend Robyn as a tutor. She provides focussed support during the 1 hour tutorial, plus stretching homework. She also discusses current work with the student to align to the topics being taught at college. During the sessions she is personable and reliable.

Our tutor Keya is reliable and punctual. She has great patience with our daughter and the lessons are going well. Keya is a very good tutor.

He is an amazing teacher. My daughter eagerly looks forward to the weekly lesson. Highly recommended

George is a brilliant tutor, he's patient and has a way of explaining things that is very easy to follow. I was worried about online sessions, but they work brilliantly. My son is doing really well, he enjoys his lessons and a few weeks in, now looks forward to them each week and even has mentioned doing some extra sessions. Never thought in my life those words would leave his mouth!!! Highly recommend George, he does a fabulous job.

I had read many positive reviews of my tutor Sunyung (선영) prior to my first lesson, which is why I chose her, and I have not been disappointed. She is friendly, enthusiastic and the pace of the lessons is great. Her handouts are clear and I receive encouragement in my abilities throughout the lesson. I am already more confident in basic conversational skills than I thought I would be. Highly recommended:-))

Kit is brilliant. She has helped my son with maths and english tuition for his gcse resits at college. Helping him hopefully unlock the hidden marks. By understanding the different exam boards questions and answer the questions in the language the exam boards require.
He says he has found his current exams easier, and isn't dreading them the same as high-school.

Unfortunately the tutor backing out the same day was unhelpful think trying to get money without doing lesson due to cancellation policies Unfortunately if this company is going to back people like him PLEASE don’t use them . I am £56 down abd unable to get that back
