Uhaul changed pick up location 3 times - have to drive 1 hour
I made a reservation for pickup in Vernon. A day before a representative called saying I had to now drive to Armstrong to pickup the truck. The evening before pickup I get a flurry of emails saying I have to now drive a hour to Salmon Arm. I had to cancel at this point as Im not sure there would even be a truck in Salmon Arm. Terrible experience
Car hauler blew out air ride suspension!! Take responsibility uhaul
Your car hauler was 💯 at fault for the resulting damage to our 2013 jeep grand Cherokee when it failed to release from the hitch and blew up our air ride suspension. Your field manager even agreed he had difficulty getting the same hauler to release from his own truck and agreed it was faulty. Our witness saw my struggling to remove it and receive no help from your staff whatsoever.
All we want is for uhaul to do the right thing and pay for the damages to our vehicle. We have been customers is uhaul for many years and have always purchased insurance and have never had an issue until now.
How do you expect your customers to remain loyal when you refuse to pay for your faulty equipment?
Over priced, continuous charges months later
The worst place to rent from. Fell on some hard times and had to uproot our family from our home state to move 900+ miles away with family out of state. A friend from work offered to pay half for the truck and I did the other half on my card. Outrageous prices, $1500 and still charging a month later. Even though my card was set as primary and they promised no charges to my friends card, they still continue to charge her card random fees. They refuse to remove her card due to they said the system is setup to automatically charge it no matter what, even tho she was the last card used. I think they should be able to set it up where the card you want as primary is used not every card listed. This caused a lot if issues over a month now with my work and my friend and put her on a financial bind. I don't recommend using uhaul to anyone and will never use them again. They said they will continue to charge her card regardless if I asked them to use mine. This is a poor system and company. Hope no one else has to go through the stress they cause even months after returning the truck. Also make sure to take pictures of everything when you drop it off otherwise they scam you for not returning equipment you clearly did. Thankfully I took pictures so they couldn't say I didn't return their equipment. Horrible company.

Had a self storage unit in Austin TX for 2 years. It was overrun with rodents and when I moved out a lot of my stuff was damaged beyond repair. Mattress, box springs, couch, clothing, wiring to my washer. The craziest part is that management knew and did nothing. My clothing that wasn’t ruined had to be washed with disinfectant. I had to wear a mask, gloves and a gown to empty out the unit because there was so much rodent crap and pee all over everything. Absolutely disgusting.
I have very bad experience with the…
I have very bad experience with the U-haul.My Story start with the U-haul when I reserved a truck from New Brunswick to Ontario,I deserve this truck in advance 2 weeks, Day before that I have fly to New Brunswick. I got a call from U-Haul and they are telling me that the truck I reserve it's not available in that location. And they are offering me a small truck which I refused because that was not according to my requirements,And after they told me that truck is available in a Fredericton which is 250 km far from my original location.
They give me two options or I have to cancel my reservation or I have to go pick this truck from Fredericton, I don't have any option other than I have to go pick up this truck from for Fredericton,As I already booked my airplane ticket and I already set up everything there to pick my stuff from there, They give me some discount but that was not even enough to cover the gas price from Fredericton to Moncton which was the originally location, As that location close 5PM, but I told them that I will be 6PM there. They told you have to do mobile check-in, I reached there 6PM, but unfortunately at that location was no telephone signal no internet and there was no even Wi-Fi available. As that loction was in remote area. I try to walk from there to find the signal, But still I don't have internet access, I tried to call you Hall and I explained my situation and I requested if they can help me to do check-in so I can get my keys but they don't want to help they told that you have to do by yourself or you have to wait till tomorrow morning there to get the keys. This customer service is useless, I talked with 1 hour 37 minutes with the three different persons, but nobody helped me, And then after I walked 5 km to get internet access and finally I did a check in online and come back 5 km at the location to get the key to take the truck, When I start driving from there, and I noticed that that truck don't have even Cruise control function, I drove that truck 1500 km without Cruise Control Function, U-Haul fully torture me financially physically and mentally, And end of my trip I did calculation. I spent way more which they gave me estimate, This is my first and last time that I am using U-Haul. So, pleaseThink before you rent or Reserve any U-Haul, you will be also stressed and mentally torture. They blackmail you because they just threatening you that they can cancel the reservation, Their customer service is useless. They don't want to even help you at all.
WHAT A NIGHTMARE!
What a nightmare! First...they changed my pick up location. I had it set up at my actual storage facility since I had to fly in to get my stuff, causing me to have to take a Lyft to go get the truck and then drive back to my storage facility. Now I'm returning it...they changed my return location too!! The one I picked was close to my new house, now I'll have to take another Lyft ride to get home after I drop off the truck. It's bad enough that the truck cost me $3,267.33 (NOT including the other $686.50 in gas!!) but now I've got all these ride costs too! DON'T USE UHAUL if you can help it! They were absolutely NO help on the phone! Take your business somewhere else if you can.
Scam
Got a quote on Thursday aug 28th 2025, for about 2,500. 4 days later the price went up over 500 and rhey literally could not give a reason as the why.
I will never use you whole again. I have already had one horrifically bad experience with you guys. This was your chance to redeem yourself. And you tried to hustle me. You tried to trick me and rob me. I will ensure no military service member under my command will ever use your company.

I was charged 28 dollars extra for cleaning fee where the U haul was cleaned, please contact me and initiate my refund
Don’t trust them
I will start by saying they are horrible I had to go 20 mins to pick up a truck when there were several in the same vicinity that I lived in but noooooo I had to go somewhere where I couldn’t even upload my pics I had to email them n then when I got to my destination I had to travel 30 mins to get there to drop the truck off cust svc Rep Ayanna was great also drop off person Monique was great they tried to tell her I gave her a bad review NO IT WAS U-HAUL she too was phenomenal U haul was the worst experience
BEWARE! No help from customer DIS-service
I ordered 6 moving pods, due to be delivered tomorrow. They were dropped off at the origin and filled and shipped to the local u-haul store here in Vernal, UT. I paid extra to have them delivered to my new house.
Only now are they telling me they actually can't deliver all 6 pods. They can deliver 2 at a time, they have to be unloaded while staying on their trailer, and when unloaded, they will pick those up and bring 2 more. How am I supposed to hire a crew to unload, then the next day hire another crew, as they dribble out deliveries?
If you call to complain, they offer you a worse alternative and say that's all they can do (which means all they care about doing) their alternative solution solution was for me to rent a truck, drive to their yard and unload the pods into a truck then I could drive the truck and unload it at my house. Are you kidding me?
My alternative was to have them pay to rent a forklift at my house, I'll unload the two pods of the trailer and they can go back with the trailer to get the next two, etc. Their response, "Oh, we don't do that! We already gave you an alternative option."
But they never tell you this BS up front when you are scheduling! I'll never use U-haul again, nor can I ever recommend them again.

They charged my a $25 dollar cleaning fee for leaving a gas receipt in the cab and supposedly a box in the cab when I didnt move anything in the front. I will never use them again and do not recomend
Another unresponsive corporation with very shady services
Uhaul is one of the most unresponsive, least customer-oriented corporate citizens I have ever dealt with. They offer a flashy website, promising to cater to all your needs, but their trucks are poorly maintained in some locations, the customer support is horrible, and, on top of that, they offer 'services' like moving help, yet...there is very little opportunity to provide user feedback. When one goes to their site, it's simply 'positive reviews', but my experience was the worst...on many fronts. I hired a moving company, Melanated Helping Hands Mke LLC, but they didn't show up. What's worse, I rented a truck from an over booked, understaffed, location, 20th & State St in Milwaukee, WI, with poorly trained people who had no concept of customer service or organization. I ordered a truck because the movers promised they'd be available at an agreed time, but then THEY, after getting the truck and waiting for them to arrive, WANTED TO RESCHEDULE FOR ANOTHER DAY!!! Get this...THEY, RESCHEDULED...on my dime and on my time. The most unprofessional people I have ever experienced. If you need help moving, avoid Melanated Helping Hands Mke LLC, or you will regret it!
Bonnie Conklin at the Hendersonville
Bonnie Conklin at the Hendersonville, TN location was so helpful for my first time renting or driving a van.

Received a E-flag on my account for a rental that didn’t occur by me. Somehow contributed to my account. Said I owed $400, couldn’t provide any info regarding said rental, Name, Dates, where it was rented, email address of person who rented it. In the end they charged my CC $500. Complete Theft and Fraud.
This company is the worst
This company is the worst. I reserved a 15 ft truck and a car transport online. Someone calls me the next day to say it would be ready at our local largest U-Haul dealer. I go to pick it up, they have 15 trucks in the lot, they tell me I have to drive 2 hours away to get a truck. When I asked they said "these trucks are for in city use only". Tries to tell me they own all the trucks and can't be used for one way. Is U-Haul out of the one-way moving truck business now? Was
Dishonesty and lack of respect for clients
Garbage service. Took almost 24 hours to change a tire and at one point I was told by staff that I was going to have to wait to start the repair request again on Monday, (I called it in Friday at 9:30pm). Was fixed within 2 hours after escalating to a manager. Tire guy was first kicked off the property of a uhaul location trying to get a tire and rim for my truck. They gave myself and the tech trying to do the repair a complete runaround.Started a claim for a discount off my rental (i paid 4200$). Was told I would get a call from a manager within a week after dropping off my truck and trailer. No phone call received about 2 weeks later. Called uhaul back and was told my claim was closed and that they had tried calling me (they didn't!). Next im told my claim is reopened and that I can expect a call in next few days. Today no phone call but I get an email saying I am being refunded 100$. I guess uhaul thinks this is acceptable but I surely do not. If you value respect and honest from a company I suggest you rent a truck from enterprise or budget because you won't get that from uhaul and Rob Kilfoyle, U-Haul Marketing Company President.
An excellent experience!
Emir (manager of the Miami Dolphin location) and his staff (Dayme, etc) are professional, friendly, and extremely accommodating. Doing business with them was a great experience! I will use their services again if need be!
RUN from Uhaul!!!
The WORST experience. Uhaul promoted a moving help service on their website that hired and they cancelled just before our move day. Called Uhaul and they ran from the problem saying “it was a separate company blah blah blah”. So I got nailed with renting a 15’ truck for a day with no help. Oh and the AC in the truck didn’t work either but that was no biggy IMO.
Terrible incompetence
Reserved a car carrier on 6/27/25 for my daughter moving back to school in Ohio from Mass. I was told that a rep would call several days prior to finish setting up the process. They called a few days prior to the scheduled date and had nothing available within an hour of me. They had something in Springfield which was sort of on the way and I told them I would pick it up there. Called today, day prior to pick up, and said that car carrier is no longer in service (I would bet my life’s savings that they rented it out to someone else who came in today). Now they wanted to have me pick one up in Albany which means I have to drive 153 miles now with two cars and they would give me $50 off the nearly $500 dollar total rental. Yeah, okay. I will never use UHaul again for any purpose whatsoever. I wish I had read these reviews prior to my reservation, it would have been cheaper to ship it than to deal with this aggravation and incompetence. What’s the point of reserving well in advance?
Uhaul is not for the customer.
Clearly, all of Uhaul's customers are dissatisfied with the service and pricing, but I will add what a rep just told me today. They change their prices on a daily basis, based on "supply and demand," which is just another way to say that they take full advantage of the customer and make them pay the most possible. An auto transport went up in price $130.00, with all other parameters being equal. I will look into other companies more closely, now that I know uhaul disregards the customer.
