Love the way several (sometimes many) people have their versions published of a song. After all they are all interpretations. They are well set out and cover an amazing number of songs. Very unusual... See more

I subscribed twice and have paid £39.99 and can still not get on the app. Joke. Don’t join it. Great app whilst you are on it but as soon as you log out it and go back in it asks you to subscribe again and pay upfront. I fell for it, went out of the app, next time I went in it asks me to pay again. They owe me £39.99. Absolute SCAM!!!!!!!!!

I had a previous 1 year subscription, and all was well. I always turn off auto renew. And it expired. I discovered that I no longer could download .txt files, only PDF files that are not formatted In ways that are useful to me. They have no way to contact them on their web site... none. They do have a Facebook site, which is a way to msg them or call them. They responded to part of my text where I asked if there was a way to download .txt files and they said that they improved everything and now it is not available. They did not respond to my request to cancel if I can't. The phone number goes to a message machine, where I left a simple non angry message. It has been weeks with no response, nor any responses to additional facebook messages. At this point I am seeking a refund through my credit card. Is this the type of business you want to do business with? I don't. I gave the 2 stars rather than one because they have a good collection of music. But it is accessible elsewhere.
Update: I filed with my credit card and was told there was nothing I can do to cancel, despite how they took away a usable feature and don't respond to communications. Beware before you click buy with this company. What kind of business is determined to keep your money even if on day one you realize that they changed the program to be fairly useless and can't use it. Its called legal theivery.

Read the one-star review responses carefully. They always sound concerned for the customers but never say that they will honor a refund. Apparently, they never do. I was scammed just like all the others. Last year I signed up for a free trial, and they charged me $49.99 for a recurring one-year subscription. I tried to contact them to decline but there is no way to do it. So, I was out $50 bucks. This year I was charged another $49.99 automatically with no warning. I emailed them (no way to call) and their response is "a refund is not possible".

Great help from Aydar with a 'lost' pro subscription.
Quick and friendly responses with simple, clear instructions
Thanks

Payed for pro for years. The last year they reniewed but i dont have the subscription. There is no way to contact customer support instead of an AI chatbot. This site used to be good, but it feels like a scam now. Thrown away money.

I have been using this site for years. When it first began, it was great! I loved the accessibility that it offered. Cheap, and easy to use.
Today, the site is saddening. Features the site used to offer for free, are stuck behind a hefty paywall. The dev team seems to continue to find ways to target the consumer at a high rate.

This app was at a great price for the functionality and breadth of tabs available with functionality and helped me really get back into playing a huge variety of music. Both the website and app works well on most platform and overall great value against competitors, well done team as I will be renewing.

I was miss sold a years subscription to this company, I logged on a couple of times and found it totally unsatisfactory. I put this down to experience and forgot about it. To my horror a year later I received an email thanking me for my renewal subscription. I have been emailing Gunzel in customer services who totally refuses to make any refund to me. All I am sent are AI generated emails stating the same thing over and over

I just went to use this app for the first time. I saw they were offering a free trial, so swiped across to “enable the free trial”. I then paid for the free trial via Apple Pay. 2 seconds later I see they have charged me £100! I have requested a refund, but found this very deceptive/scam like. Wouldn’t recommend.

I started a free trial with Ultimate Guitar and cancelled it on the very same day, believing this would completely stop the trial from converting into a paid subscription. The interface gave every impression that the cancellation was successful.
Only later did I discover that the system had not cancelled the trial itself, but merely disabled auto-renewal for the following year. This is extremely unclear, and in my experience, the cancellation flow does not make a meaningful distinction between ending a trial and turning off future renewals.
Because of that design, my trial converted into a full 1-year subscription without any explicit confirmation or clear warning.
I contacted support and repeatedly explained that I cancelled on day one — well within the trial period. The responses I received were scripted, did not address the actual issue, and simply repeated “you did not cancel before the end of the free trial,” even though the problem is precisely that the system makes this hard to understand.
After reading many similar complaints on Trustpilot, it seems this is a recurring issue and not an isolated case. The overall pattern suggests that the trial cancellation process is confusing enough that users end up paying for subscriptions they never intended to activate.
So far, Ultimate Guitar refuses a full refund, despite the obvious ambiguity in their cancellation flow and the fact that I acted immediately and in good faith.
I hope this review helps potential customers understand the risks. If the company resolves this properly and issues a refund, I will update this review.

I installed ultimate guitar on my phone and wanted to try it for 7 days before committing. I picked the 7 day trial, however I was charged 429 DKK right away for an annual all-comprehensive subscription. I contacted customer services and I asked for a refund and my request got declined.

Don’t join ultimate guitar.
Even after cancelling my subscription by writing they have continued to take a yearly fee.
I have discussed this with other friends who had ultimate guitar and they had the same problem.

BEWARE - this company stole money from me. They advertised a 7-day free trial for their pro feature, and as soon as I activated the trial, they charged me for 1 full year. I've never experienced this with any other company in my life, so I was quite surprised to see the charge on my account.
When I contacte customer service to ask they refund my money and honor their advertised 7-day trial, they told me they cannot do that, and the best they can do is give me a partial refund of about 60% of the total cost, along with 1 month of access to their pro feature.
I'm completely blown away by how unethical this company is. It's quite sad that they feel they have to stoop to lying and stealing from the public in order to keep their company afloat, and they are definitely sacrificing countless possible long-term customers for getting a quick buck out of first time payers.

Cancelled my subscription and a year later they charged me for it again anyway. customer support said they would refund me then later said they couldn't then said they could only give me a % back. Still haven't received anything back almost a year later

Contacted them again after they replied to my review. They showed me proof that a refund was always possible. But since they waited so long they missed the refund window. Would highly recommend avoiding UG. There are plenty of better sites for tabs and even more for lessons

I wish I'd read these reviews before I subscribed. The exact same thing has happened to me. I opt for the discount, pay the discounted subscription and then a week later Ultimate Guitar deducts a further charge from my credit card for the full value of the subscription.
I'm very disappointed. I had always found UG's non-subscription tools helpful and that's what made be decide to opt for the discounted package. Tell your friends: UG subscription offers are just one big scam. Don't subscribe and certainly don't give them your credit card information.

Purchased via the App Store. Offered a 79% discount. The. Charged full price. Customer support do not respond.

While I have an active one-year subscription (€19.99 valid until 24-04-2026), an additional amount of €22.99 was charged to my PayPal account on 30 October. I disputed this charge, but my claim was rejected. In my opinion, this is outright fraud.
Update:
Mr. Aydar did indeed contact me after my negative review, supposedly to resolve the issue. I was asked all kinds of questions, which I cooperated with. Since I myself cannot see why the money was wrongfully debited, one would assume that when Mr. Aydar’s company collects money, they know what it is for. Instead, they pretend not to know and keep asking the same questions over and over again. This is clearly a deliberate discouragement tactic. Eventually, they stopped responding altogether. After many years, I have now cancelled my active account. The money is not returned!!!
I want nothing more to do with this kind of scammers!! 😡
