An unprofessional company

An unprofessional company! ( New kitchen). I could not have imagined how bad everything would turn out. The numerous problems included putting a cabinet round boiler rendering it unserviceable , washing machine couldn't drain due to their plumbing and many more issues. We now have had to employ a team of tradesmen to help sort the mess they made. Asking for help from the UHS management side of things was a waste of time. I have never known such an incompetent and despicable team. The management Mr Brodie, Mr Rowat, and Mr Fraser offered no real help. When they responded to our complaints they merely said 'your understanding is different from ours'. I hope this saves someone else from going through the heartache we have endured.

Rude, unprofessional, intrusive, never use them.

Rude, agressive, intrusive, unprofessional!

They contacted us through a comparison site (Compare Solar) to offer a "Free Quote", I made it clear with the contact person from Ultimate Group (who was also expecting my wife to be at home!!!) that I only need a Quote and nothing else (no contract). And that was agreed. However, they turn up at my door, expecting a red carpet (do not bother to knock that is apparently something they don't do!)
I spoke to the person who turned up and he said that he would need my wife and I to have a "Decision" right at their visit. This means agreeing to buy the system from them right there and then. I made it clear that was not my intention (again!) and I just want a quote. He said that this is not how their company (Ultimate Group) work. They come and visit and they put you under immense pressure to sign an agreement with them. This is against all codes of conduct, it is sexist, it is intrusive and absolutely unprofessional. And most importantly, I think it is illegal (it should be if it is not!) I just wonder if the customer is a naive person, who would give up under this pressure. So offer of Free Quote from them is absolute nonsense. Rouge Traders in true sense.

AVOID - Poor quailty of work and non-existent customer service

I had noticeable damp in the upstairs bedroom, gable end of the house back in 2019. I had a leak the 10 December 2019 and caused the need to get some work done to stop the house leaking further.

Ultimate Home Solutions, more specifically Nigel Brodie, the finance director, came out to the property in early December to look at the issue and assess what was needed. He stated the issue was due to the outside walls being cracked and worn. We agreed that the walls would be re-rough casted and coated, with a 10 year guarantee. The chimney was also included in the quote that it would be repaired during the work. Peter performed the work (contracted out by UHS) in early Feb 2020.
June 2020 I noticed the original damp areas had drastically spread to areas where damp had previously not been an issue and appeared in the living room, directly below the original damp issue.
I contacted Ultimate Home Solutions in June to ask them to come out to the property to assess the damp.
At this point, I was also still chasing them for the certificate of my guarantee, nearly 6 months after they completed the work. A member of the Sales team, Ian came to the property on the 3rd July and it was at this stage they informed me I needed a new roof for £8k or restoration work which would cost £3k, this was to include a "returning customer discount". I then began phone conversations with Nigel again having been displeased that I was then told I needed to pay yet more money to fix the issue I thought I’d paid £5,000 to fix following the assessment from UHS.

The fact that Ultimate Home Solutions are saying the walls and chimney are water tight from the work they completed is proving to be false. The chimney was not properly repaired before the coating was applied and there are lumps, bumps and mastic falling out of the house, which shows Ultimate Home Solutions have failed to use reasonable care and skill, as the walls were not properly treated before they were coated.
There were also cracks appearing in the walls which I would not expect if the work was done correctly and to a high standard.

Its now August 2023 and I have more cases of render coming away from the house and patches needing repair. I have started to get water into the house again due to an issue with the chimney. Again UHS have not been out to fix these issues, raised in June.

This company are not trustworthy or reliable, probably because they use third party contractors to complete the work. I have had nothing but issues since they did their work and I would urge anyone to NOT use this company. Their customer service is shocking and unresponsive but most importantly I believe they are wrongfully advising on issues they are not qualified too in order to sell services.

PLEASE AVOID!!

Ultimate Home Solutions substandard work

Company Ultimate Home Solutions
Address Units 8-9 140 Woodhead Rd.
Museum Business Park
Glasgow,G53 7NN
Tel 0800 689 1537

Work description Roughcasting of an outbuilding
External painting with Properla
Contact Nigel Brodie, Finance Director of the company and salesperson was responsible for drafting the contract.
Date of Work done by subcontractors July-August 2021
Guarantee Normal consumer act guarantees on workmanship and materials plus a 10 years Properla coating issued by Properla UK
Description of the subsequent problem After 15 months, one wall of the house treated with the Properla coating suffered extensive degradation by losing the coating and underlying roughcasting which came loose in a number of patches.
Email to Ultimate Solutions sent14 Dec. 2022 and copied to Nigel Brodie
"I attach a photograph taken earlier today of the East wall of my house which was painted with ProPerla in July to August 2021 by your subcontractor. As you can see, the expected and guaranteed life of the coating has not been achieved and I think some remedial action is required."
Email from Ultimate Solutions dated 14 Dec. 2022 "Thank you for your email.
Unfortunately, our Wall department is closed over the festive period however I will log your email on file and arrange for someone to contact you when we open back up again.
This will likely be around March/April time"
Email sent to Ultimate Solutions on 12 April 2023 and copied to Nigel Brodie: This was a duplicate of the above reminding them of the problem. No reply was received.
Telephone call to Ultimate on 24th April 2023 Ultimate claimed not to have received any information. A new photograph of the wall and documentation of the problem was sent along with a copy of the original email from December 2022. I was assured that an inspector from the company would view the property when they were next in our area, about 30 miles from the company. On asking when this might be, an estimate of 2-3 weeks was offered.
There having been no visit or contact, a second telephone call was made on 31st May 2023. Ultimate claimed at first not to have the information about the fault. When pressed they said an inspection would be made when next in Ayr. Could not give a date.
At the time of posting this account, 26 June 2023, there has been no inspection to our knowledge and no contact from the company.
On 2nd July I emailed the UK distributor of the Properla masonry coating to update them on the situation with Ultimate Home Solutions.
Three days later we received a home visit from Craig. He was unable to explain the delays we had experienced and promised that they will get back to us with a solution once they had gathered expert advice on what to do. Sadly, the promise of action has so far been no better than any of the earlier promises and we are still left with an eyesore on our house.

Since my last review problems have…

Since my last review problems have since been rectified but it took a while. Happy with the work and all is well now. It was explained to me by the Managing Director that Ultimate Home Solutions had had problems with their suppliers hence the delay. They have since obtained a new supplier and things should be back on track again. Of all the quotes I got Ultimate Home Solutions were the cheapest by far. So now I would recommend this company.

Chauvinistic Unreliable Company

Can’t comment on the quality of work as didn’t get that far. Had an appointment for 10am, got a call at 9am to confirm. Nobody turned up. Called to find out what was happening and told I needed to reschedule because my husband wasn’t home!!! Excuse me? Are we living in the dark ages?? Obviously a woman can’t make a decision herself without permission! Absolute joke. Glad they didn’t come really if that’s their company values…..

Ulimate Home Solutions Ltd (Glasgow)

Ulimate Home Solutions Ltd (Glasgow)

If you are looking to get double glazing from this company I would advise you to give them a very wide berth. I had windows and a back door installed by them in March 2022. Following the installation I noticed that some remedial work was required.
The door had not been hung straight, the glass in the door was back to front, patterned glass was on tne outside instead of the inside, damaged seal in a fixed pane and wrong pattern of glass had been installed. I was contacted by the finance manager a couple of days after the job was completed to pay the balance. I told him I was reluctant to pay until the faults had been fixed. He suggested I pay a £200 retainer and pay the remainder after the work had been completed. However after the payment had gone through on my debit card he confirmed £3268 had gone through but I was expecting the amount to be £200. Three weeks later £200 had been taken out of my account without my knowledge and no work had been done. I had to contact my bank to get a refund. Over 4.1/2 montrhs have now elapsed since I was told the faults would be rectified within 2 weeks when I paid the bulk of the balance. I have contacted this company countless times and each time I do I am fobbed off and they say they will contact me with an update but never do. I even sent them a letter of complaint by recorded delivery threatening them with legal action and they just ignored me. They give a 10 year unconditional guarantee which to be honest isnt worth the paper its written on. I now have to pursue legal action to get them to do the remedial work. Dealing with Ultimate Home Solutions (Glasgow) has been an absolute nightmare. As I said I would not recommend them at all, keep well away from them.

Ultimate Home Solutions Security Alarm

Ultimate Home Solutions cold called my elderly father and convinced him to agree to have a house alarm installed when he already had a system in place. He was also convinced to pay for a monitoring service which he did not require. He was overcharged for the system installed and monitoring service. In my view he was taken advantage of overcharged and hard sold an alarm system he did not need. I have contacted Ultimate Home Solutions to complain and will be in touch with Trading Standards to report the circumstances for investigation. I would not recommend that anyone use this company on the basis of their treatment of my father.
