I am writing to express my heartfelt gratitude and commendation for the UNICEF Denmark Warehouse, which provided me with an invaluable opportunity to volunteer in 2011. This experience not only enriched my understanding of humanitarian work but also left a lasting impression on me, shaping my perspective and values profoundly.

From the moment I joined as a volunteer, I was struck by the warehouse's exceptional organization and the team's dedication to UNICEF’s mission. The onboarding process was thorough, ensuring that I felt welcomed and well-prepared to contribute effectively. The staff’s professionalism and their willingness to share knowledge made me feel like an integral part of the team right from the start.

The hands-on experience I gained at the warehouse was immensely rewarding. I was involved in various tasks, from inventory management to preparing shipments of essential supplies. Each task, no matter how small, was approached with a sense of purpose and urgency, underscoring the critical impact of our work on children and communities around the world. The structured and efficient workflow within the warehouse highlighted the importance of precision and teamwork in humanitarian logistics.

One of the most memorable aspects of my volunteer experience was witnessing the compassion and dedication of the warehouse staff. Usually I don't want to throw anyone under the bus but this is absolutely a no go. I've been donating ever since I had my first salary, however small it was, every month.

In one of the many mails which I barely read and get deleted automatically, they write pretty much in small text that my contribution increases automatically by an insignificant amount if I do not respond until a certain date. Luckily, they get the props of sending a text reminding me to absolutely check this mail.

As far as I remember UNICEF is a non-profit organization, yet altough these sort of things resemble more a disfunctional government, or worse a bank, which increases fees, taxes or contributions as it seems fit.

I am absolutely gutted. People choose to donate whatever they wish, not being nearly tricked into it. The increase would be absolutely peanuts, but the way in which this is done, is just wrong. Shame on you UNICEF.
