Awful tat

I purchased a Uniform Wares watch a number of years ago (circa 2010). It couldn't keep time. It would jam and release again and would be, very regularly, way off (by hours on some days). Very quickly the strap fell apart. I had bought it for a long business contract abroad and when I got back it was *just about* still in warranty. I went back to the shop where I purchased it and the shop said they had stopped doing any further business with Uniform Wares because of the very high number of complaints and returns, and a lack of any assistance from Uniform Wares in resolving their customers' complaints. They apologised and suggested I contact Uniform Wares myself. Back in those days what Uniform Wares used to call "Customer Service" consisted of just one person who clearly had no training at all in customer service. Her response was that I could send the watch back for an inspection and repair but it would cost (from recollection) around £100. The strap, she told me, could very simply be replaced by me purchasing another one off their website. When I pointed out I had a brand new wristwatch that neither told the time nor stayed on my wrist, she just coldly repeated my options for buying a solution, and she did so with a tone of voice that suggested I was boring her and I ought to pipe down and leave her alone.

Since then the company has apparently been in administration, and the original founders/owners are no longer involved as far as I know. But Uniform Wares continue to send me spam emails many years later despite me (a) telling them countless times to stop and (b) repeatedly hitting the utterly pointless UNSUBSCRIBE link in their emails.

The watches are poor quality. Superficially pretty but actually nothing special aesthetically when you look at all the options. I spent £60 on a very similar looking Citizen Eco-Drive shortly after my experiences with Uniform Wares, and my Citizen watch has provided unfailing service ever since.

Terrible watches. Cheaply manufactured and sold as premium products with entirely non-existent care for customers whatsoever. Avoid like the plague.

Elegant (looking) garbage

I had precisely the same experience as one of the other reviewers, which is that several hour markers on the watch face of my 203/KK-04 fell off within months of purchasing the watch! I contacted customer service and they said they may or may not cover it under warranty, and that I would have to pay for shipping both directions. I fixed the darn thing myself, and within the next year it happened again and again until all of them had fallen off, rattling around inside the watch. Fed up with it after the last time it happened I left the watch in my dresser for years, unworn, until I finally decided to glue them all back in place. I was furious, but content to finally have an elegant (looking) watch on my wrist again... but not for long, because the "Italian Calf Leather" band delaminated completely, and fell off the watch. Worst watch I've ever owned, hands down. It looks great, but is offensively over-priced garbage. I enjoy wearing it around and explaining to people how UniformWares is a joke when it comes to "fine" watches.

Excellent watch.

I have a very plain, quartz wristwatch from Union Wares, for which I paid about £400 in around 2017.

I like it's minimalist style very much indeed, but that's obviously down to individual taste.

As for the construction, mine hasn't given any problems whatsoever and its clearly very well made. So much so, in fact, that when I took it to a jeweller to adjust the strap he made a point of commenting on the build quality.

I can't comment on the experiences other people may have had, but UW clearly make some very good watches for the price.

Don't buy from this brand

I do not recommend to buy from this brand. The watches look amazing but their built quality is bad and the customer service is really, really horrible.

Here is my experience:

After just 5 months some dial batons fell off and didn't longer hold on their position. So I booked a repair. Uniform Wares wanted to me to pay for the repair despite it is still in warranty. This can happen and after I sent in the invoice they continued with the repair. After about a month I received back my timepiece.

One month later some other dial batons fell off again. So I booked another repair. Which was carried out in about two weeks – thats quite fast. But after I received back my timepiece I saw, that the repair wasn't carried out properly. The baton on the six o'clock position is wrong. It is too short. In the attachment you can see a photo of it. Usually the batons on the 12, 3, 6 and 9 o'clock position are longer than the others. So I booked a repair for the third time. This time everything was correct.

A few months ago I wanted to login to my account but it wasn't possible anymore. The password reset function didn't work neither. When I entered my email and pressed “Reset password“ there was an error message which said "No input file specified.“. So contacted uniform wares on their email to delete my account. This was in November. Since then I tried it about 3 more times but didn't get any reply from them. This is not what I expect from a good service or how they say in their own words "comprehensive service".

Please consider carefully if you want to buy a timepiece of this brand. They are really beautiful but this is not worth much if you cannot wear it because of their built quality.

Good product (hence I gave 2*) but…

Good product (hence I gave 2*) but awful customer service:

* Originally my email was ignored for a week, I only got a reply when commenting on an Instagram post. They seem eager to resolve only when someone comments on their social media posts to save face.
* Out of date website with incorrect delivery info.
* Paid £7 for UK domestic Next Day delivery. Got an Instagram message saying it wasn't collected!

Shame because the witches are nice but I would look elsewhere.

Good looking watch

Love my uniform wares watches, had an issue with one of them and their customer services went above and beyond in the end to help me out.
