While living here, I emailed them over 5 times about the poor living conditions about my flatmates yet all they did was say they would email them to "fix it" yet nothing was ever done about it. I complained multiple times about stealing and noise issues yet that was never sorted as well. Receptionists were always horrible and grumpy whenever I tried to explain the situation. At the moment i'm writing this, they replaced the keys and fobs to my door without letting me know and I currently have 3 big holes in my front door available for anyone to look through. When I came back from the summer holidays I had an email they were changing the mattresses and when I came back all of my stuff was chucked on the floor. The staff are careless. Worst experience ever. Not worth the money, please reconsider and go elsewhere.

Raglan house: I would not recommend this accommodation at all. The building is extremely dirty, and the surroundings feel unsafe. There are often prostitutes outside the building and even needles scattered on the floor, which is very concerning, especially at night. The overall atmosphere is unsafe and unpleasant.
Inside, the situation is no better. When problems arise in the building or in individual rooms, it takes far too long for management to respond and get anything fixed. On top of that, there are hardly any events or community activities going on, which makes the experience even more disappointing.
Overall, this has been a very negative experience and not worth the money.

I’ll be writing a full complaint tommorow. But do not bother booking with this company aim for Prestige student living or any other accommodation . My full complaint will have details and a news outlet have picked up my story and I’m in the midst of contact with them. Women do not come here, there was a man who exposed himself in reception and a receptionist was sitting write there and did nothing it was all over Snapchat. If you have mental health, they don’t care if you have suicidal ideation caused by other tenants in the property and staff and when you request a change of accommodation they’ll ignore your emails for months including a Doctors note with no valid reasoning and send a lady your way to patronise and provoke you . In fact Unite students has broken all these laws such as
Negligence & Breach of Duty of Care
ignored suicide disclosures, medical documentation, and psychological harm caused by staff.
Disability Discrimination – Equality Act 2010
disclosure long-term mental health conditions. They failed to provide reasonable adjustments. That is unlawful.
GDPR Breach – Data Protection Act 2018
Safeguarding Failures
No action was taken following reports of sexual misconduct or unsafe student environments.
Also why am I seeing so many reviews of people saying the same thing and they try treat me as if I was a nutjob. I can’t wait for this to go public oh my, and don’t reply with your same automated response when I “ get in touch” you ignore me I know exactly where to report this

Horrible people working on reception, went in there to ask for miss delivered parcels. Explained the situation to receptionists but they did not even bother to look down and names on parcels. Gen Z, layzy to the point that they don't even bother to use there eyes. Disgusting and disrespectful behaviour. Incident happened in Queens Park House.

Living Here Was a Nightmare – Avoid Unite Students at All Costs
I am an international student living in the Old Street Unite Students accommodation (ensuite), and this place has been an absolute nightmare from the very beginning.
First of all, my room is infested with ants, even though I always keep it clean and have no food lying around. I constantly find ants crawling across my desk – it’s disgusting and unhygienic.
Secondly, the windows in the room barely open, so there’s zero ventilation. In the summer, the room turns into an oven – I’ve had sleepless nights sweating and suffocating in the heat.
Third, the radiator has been broken since I moved in, meaning I spent the entire winter freezing. I reported this multiple times and got no actual solution.
And lastly, the chair provided in the room is incredibly bad for your back. After using it for a year, I now suffer from lower back pain and muscle strain. It’s honestly unacceptable to expect students to study and live like this. I’ve attached a photo of the chair – anyone can see it's not suitable for long-term use.
This place has affected my mental and physical health in serious ways. It’s overpriced, under-maintained, and Unite Students does not care once they’ve taken your money.
Avoid this company at all costs. I wouldn’t recommend this accommodation to anyone – not even for free.

Live here only if this location is convenient, or if you have no other choice. The management and staff have changed for the worse because now there are just some people "filling in" for a shift, and you'll have to deal with a Dollar Store version Johnny Bravo whose responses always start with "well we can't/don't.....". This bites! ZERO responsibility whatsoever. 2/3 good staff members disappeared months ago. I have friends in other unite students and this is by far the worst nightmare. Bad flatmates? Infestation? Singing walls? Clogged pipes? No support so deal with it yourself.

Unite Students is a disgrace. Extortionate prices for rooms with rats ( I saw multiple), broken facilities, constant noise, and useless staff who ignore every issue unless it threatens their precious image.
They love pretending to care about student wellbeing, but it’s all a front. Behind the fake smiles and corporate slogans is a company obsessed with profit and nothing else. Complaints go nowhere. Problems are brushed off. The “community” they keep banging on about doesn’t exist — it’s just branding nonsense to lure people in.
What really blew my mind? Someone openly took food from a charity donation box, and when questioned, staff casually joked about doing it themselves. That alone tells you everything you need to know — zero morals, zero shame.
Security? Don’t make me laugh. Constant break-ins, random intruders wandering the halls, and the stench of weed on every floor. Staff are aware. They just don’t care.
This place is rotten from top to bottom. If you’ve got any sense, stay far away. Unite Students doesn’t stand for community, safety, or wellbeing — just greed. This is simply just personal opinion and observation.

Terrible. Had a lot of problems with the people I live with and was dismissed almost instantly. I asked if I could move flats and was told that I could but would have to pay for the flat I was in or find someone to move in. The kitchen was always filthy and nothing was ever done other than a threat of a charge. when I moved put they gave me over a £100 damage fee for a stain and when I said I wouldn't be able to pay straight away told me my garuntor would have to pay instead. If I'm honest it got that bad that I didn't even live there for most of the year so I wasted over 4000 on a place that was a dump.

I had an incredibly upsetting and disappointing experience living at Queens Park House in Coventry. Over the past month, I faced ongoing mistreatment, emotional distress, and harassment from other residents, with little to no meaningful support from the management team.
One of the most distressing incidents involved a flatmate banging on my door and shouting at me over a kitchen mess that I had no part in—I wasn’t even present in the accommodation at the time, as I had been staying with relatives due to illness. Despite being unwell and running a fever, I was unfairly blamed and pressured to clean up after others. Sadly, this wasn’t an isolated occurrence.
As a vegetarian with religious dietary considerations, I made the effort to use my own separate bins rather than the shared kitchen ones, which were often filled with non-vegetarian waste. Still, I was unfairly targeted with complaints. It felt like I was being singled out despite going out of my way to be respectful of others.
Another serious concern was the treatment I received from a resident in Flat F, who repeatedly objected to my friends and cousins visiting me—even though they were only daytime visitors and did not stay overnight. The reception team themselves confirmed that short daytime visits were allowed. Nevertheless, I was confronted in front of my guests and made to feel humiliated without any valid reason. This blatant intrusion into my personal life was unacceptable and deeply upsetting.
Adding to this toxic environment, I was frequently criticized and dictated to about cooking at night, even though it was within my rights to do so. I have a study and work schedule that sometimes requires me to cook later in the evening. The kitchen is a shared space, and I have every right to use it according to my needs. No resident has the authority to impose self-made rules, yet management did absolutely nothing to intervene or support me. They failed to acknowledge different perspectives or take appropriate action to resolve conflicts fairly.
Living at Queens Park House severely impacted my mental well-being, peace of mind, and sense of safety. Despite raising several concerns, I felt ignored and unsupported throughout. Ultimately, I had to request an early contract termination because I could no longer tolerate the toxic and distressing atmosphere.
I cannot in good faith recommend this accommodation to anyone who values respect, privacy, or mental health. The management is poorly equipped to handle interpersonal issues and fails to protect residents from harassment or unfair treatment. Think carefully before booking a place here.

Finding accommodation in London for me was a very stressful experience, but Unite Students turned out to be a good solution. I've been meaning to book a room for a semester with Unite Students London but I had a bunch of additional questions, so I gave the Central hotline a ring and there was a very kind lady (I think her name was Sheena?) who answered all my concerns and even gave me a direct number and email to the specific dormitory in which I was interested, in case I wanted to ask them more detailed questions. Thanks, Sheena!
However, when I was proceeding with the booking and about to pay my deposit, it turned out that their website wasn't accepting my payment. It wasn't getting through on their side, I confirmed it with my Bank. So I called the dormitory and wrote them an email asking if everything's alright, and they wouldn't answer.
I again called the Central hotline and it said that the website is experiencing some problems. Then another person, Sarah, helped me solve that issue as well. Also answered some of my other questions regarding the accommodation, although it should be the reception in the dormitory answering that, so I was happily surprised she could do that.
Sarah managed to book a room in the dormitory for me in the absence of the deposit payment getting through, so I am now awaiting a response from the dormitory reception to give me the link to wire my advance pay deposit :) But wait, there's more!
The next day, I still couldn't get through to the dormitory I needed to contact, so I called the Central hotline again, and there was a guy whose name I unfortunately also don't exactly remember, who just rung the dormitory some other way and put me through.
In the dormitory there was a receptionist Neli who answered all of my questions, she was super nice, and solved all the remaining problems I had. She also explained that there was some emergency or something a few days earlier and that's why they had been unresponsive, since they were still getting the system fixed.
So big shoutout to the entire Virtual Sales Team and the Dormitory Reception, too!

I stayed in Cardiff.
The place is a hovel, dirty, full of silver fish, cheap, smelly old mattresses, lots of leaks and heaters on the blink.
The ‘staff’ are useless, creepy, ignorant and lazy.
Students need to stop buying in to this scam overpriced accommodation company.
Find a traditional rental property for the duration of your studies because living here is bad for mental health. It was impossible to get out of the contract as staff refused to answer the phone or reply to emails.
I was promised a partial refund but this failed to materialise.

My friend and I had mice in our kitchen in Archways, Sheffield. The management for the whole year was doing barely anything to sort the problem out. They are renting rooms out knowingly that they are not in a state to live in. Avoid at all cost

Wish I could leave a less than one star review. My daughter moved into Beaumont court in September. We noticed extensive mold and damage in the bathroom and tried to report it but their app wouldn’t work. After numerous complaints and being sick for months they were supposed to fix it over winter break. They didn’t and for her health we had to relocate her in the middle of her program. They are trying to hold us responsible for the remainder of the rent. Avoid Beaumont court .. mold is rampant.

In Birmingham, Lakeside residences - our elevators haven’t worked in over 11 weeks now. We live on the 6th floor, imagine having to take our groceries, laundry etc. Worst customer service. They never call back or communicate except for when the rent is due.
