A Truly Awful Experience
Unfortunately it appears that this estate agent is only interested in their commission and in quick turnaround transactions. I can only speak from the selling side of course, but they lack any sort of personal touch or care when dealing with you. You are generally treated as an inconvenience if you email or call them. They almost never answered any emails or calls when I asked for an update in the sales process and when I eventually did get a call, it was rather curt and unfriendly. Not really what you expect from the people who are apparently trying to sell your home for you. They send out automated emails when the stages of the sale are happening and when it comes to a visit - they assume you know everything about how it works and until I asked was not told what would happen on the day. This is shocking, especially when you note that they deal almost exclusively with people who are either first time buyers or first time sellers. I would never choose to buy or sell a property with Urban Moves again and would not recommend them to anyone.
I found some of the staff to be very…
I found some of the staff to be very rude and arrogant. Selling a home is a stressful process, with much legal and commercial jargon that many people don't fully understand- there is no sense of urgency from some members of the team.
I was particularly disappointed with one of 'leaders' of the company and confused about how the company pockets money with failed buyers, yet as the customer we receive nothing.
I agree with all the other reviews
I agree with all the other reviews. Literally treat people like cattle with an air of condescension. I get they are helping shift 'bottom of the market' shared ownership properties but it may as well be self serve. The agent not only expected us to be there on time stressing the importance of the viewing window, but then didn't care when multiple people from different time slots were ushered in at the same time. You leave the viewing to be told you only get one viewing and you need an offer within 2 days.
Which is fine, but it's just handled like a greasy funnel. So you are treated like some subservient for trying to get on the property ladder. It's like if the staff are going to be rude, remove them entirely get them off the payroll and automate it completely. At least that way we'd know what to expect.
Very rude attitude to potential buyers…
Very rude attitude to potential buyers who try to challenge and understand the fees before even started to be considered. 400£ just to have your right to be reviewed for a SO property. Pathetic
EXTREMELY RUDE.
EXTREMELY RUDE.
called the customer service number on their website to get details on a property. The man who answered was extremely condescending and blunt to every question I had. If I knew the answers to all the questions I had I wouldnt be calling now would I? If he doesnt want to help i am sure I can find another company who would. will NEVER go through URBAN MOVES again.
Review from a seller
I worked with Urban Moves for a while to try and sell my home. Sometimes it felt like I was the only one doing any work. I got decent service from one agent but the others were a bit hit an miss.
I know they tried to do their job but I am not sure they did enough to justify charging me a fee. Everything started off well with a photographer coming by, floorplans drawn up and the advert being posted.
Since then, things seem to move quite slow. When there were viewings scheduled I, as the home owner, was often left to show prospective buyers around. When Urban Moves did show up they were sometimes dressed smartly, other times they showed up in cycle gear.
Communication is also not their strongest quality. They struggle to explain themselves clearly at times especially if what they are trying to say is a bit complex. Maybe I just didn't understand but expected them to recognise that this isn't my field of expertise. I would have expected they could explain in jargon free language, maybe with examples.
Urban Moves were also not very good with keeping me updated. I would often have to phone more than once to get an answer to any question I have and my emails were often ignored.
At times they come across professionally but at other times you get the sense that they don't care and they are hoping for homes to be sold with very little effort so they can pocket the money and move on.
I am not sure on their record but knowing what I know now I would be reluctant to use their service again.
DISGUSTING
DO NOT EVENT BOTHER.
I contacted this company on the 23rd of November with an enquiry about a property they have on Right Move. The property is showing as available right now. When I got through the lady answered (Owner) with just a 'hi', so I was unsure if I got through to the right company. I asked for the company name and her answer was, ''you're through to the number you called''. Her attitude is completely disgusting. Apparently they have received multiple complaints and are due to be BANNED from Right Move. They are really bad....run away.
Utter disappointment!!
I was disappointed by this agent as I just wanted to view a property and was met with unhelpful staff and rudeness. I even e-mailed one of the directors to beg for a viewing and was told I would not be able to unless I jumped through hoops that included providing them my financial information, date of birth and all my previous addresses! All from a so called 'Estate agent'.
Overall as a potential buyer I felt alienated and was not offered a viewing in the end.....
