On December 1

On December 1, my payment never applied to my direct express card. I reached out to Direct Express who did nothing for me, but give me an attitude, and social security can no longer issue another check. Needless to say, I am still waiting for my payment and nobody knows where it is! But if you owe them! trust me they take it immediately. Phone system sucks ass! hours to wait, then they call you back and still play that stupid elevator music. F Off!

If I could give two zeros I would do t get this card open your own account with banks you can trust .. These people are scammers asking for all your info when u can even whole social security number no other bank do this .. my money had been scammed off my card twice and nobody did nothing about it your gotta wait 3 whole month for your money and these people test you like shot when you call .. u gotta wait hours to speak to people and when u do they transfer u 5 times .. I hate it here

DO NOT GO WITH THIS CARD THEY LOCKED MY ACCOUNT DAYS AGO WITH 300 dollars left I’ve sent in multiple identification verification and they still have yet to process my account and give me my damn money back and the hood time can get up to 2 hours avoid them at all COST !!!! Worse customer service ever

Well I finally received my card thru…

Well I finally received my card thru ups today only issue I m having I can't pay my electric bill I was able to do everything else go to the ATM purchases item online.i never had any issues paying my bill with electric company before it not them something going on with direct Express I try to call but never get threw it is starting to get my anxiety going I was just freaking out for two days I need to survive with that money.

62 days no money or card!

My clinted waited a month for a card they never sent, They sent my clients money to wrong account so they didnt send his card. he has to wait for that money now. They said they sent a cars this time, it's been 2 months and he still has not received a card or his ssi. This company hangs up on us and keeps saying the card is on the way. I don't know what to do anymore!
They do not have a complaint number and they don't take complaints seriously so nothing gets fixed.

The Treasury Department and Direct Express both need to be canceled, their contracts and licenses revoked. They commit fraud and electronic terrorism. They unjustly block cards and calls, hold funds

The treasury department needs to select a different bank to handle payments. CoAmerica Bank is a racist organization and the customer service is horrendous, they are rude. I moved requested a new card because my neighbors steal my mail. The rep suggested a new card and I agreed. I never said my card was stolen nor any suspicious charges, I got my new card and can't activate it because these dummies at direct express keeps hanging up on me before I even speak to a live person. They sent a letter saying they were unable to reach me, they never called my number, the first is tomorrow, my card is blocked and those dummies wont answer the phone, they don't have a way to email them nor chat support. When I do get these fawkers on the phone I am requesting a routing number I am going to a bank of my choice and will never allow the Department of Treasury nor social security to dictate nor select how I get my funds, the way this is set up is so darn dumb. I have no respect for Direct Express in fact the institution should be shut down, their licenses revoked and indicted and imprisoned in a federal institution. The fact that the institution has so many complaints and the government still used them reflects on all businesses government and otherwise as negligent, fraudulent, unprofessional, inappropriate and not trust worthy. They have blocked or locked up my card so many times unjustly and unprovoked and then they make it difficult to contact them. Direct Express can kiss my ahz. I am doing direct deposit with a different institution and I warn others to mass report direct express. I document everything people need to hear how the reps talk to customers

I have been waiting since January 2023…

I have been waiting since January 2023 for a refund of an unowed bill. It is now into July and I have yet to receive the refund. I had an April unauthorized payment taken from my account. It took all of my monthly funds plus over 230 dollars putting me into the negative. Parts of the transaction is missing from my statements. I talk to investigation and others in between. Only one representive found the money taken. To this day nothing was done about it and they closed the case. Blame is back and forth. The card holder should supersed all others as to how their money is spent. They now have a lock on the funds. THANK YOU!!! Their hold time tune seriously amount to mental torture for those that are put on hold for long periods of time and while being tranfered over to a number of other representatives. It is especially annoying to hear when stressed. Have some consideration for callers at the start of it all.

This is an update if yu read the 1st one you know my uspassort as I'd was denied. Putting me in a bad way since I was over season in phillpines. So I filed a complaint with the comric bank 18003331795 the headquarters of direct express this number was given to me by ss to file a complaint I. Did. This person after getting complaint forwards the complaint to direct express complaint party who will call you they will call only once so answer your phone .so it took 3 days and my account was turned back on wow I was so happy. However the excuse for the problem was a bit thin and now its water under the bridge I have access to my account and have withdrawn the funds. So told me to get a paper check I did and had to get a new card sent to me I hope there will be no further problems they really should have a video app so they know who is calling them .Ny way it's on thank god

Recently, I was trying to get a hold of my banking, institution, direct express and a month and a half went by and I still cannot get tRecently, I was trying to get a hold of my banking, institution, direct express and a month and a half went by I need to transfer online to my local credit union and the very next day direct express took it back without contacting me or anything so I did the transfer. Am I local credit union and closing this account out? I do not recommend it and have a safe banking experience you all!.

beware

After using my card in Mexico for 13 years, (where I live now, ) My card would not work. I spent 3 hours on 4 different days, only to have them say the problem was corrected. On the 5th time, they sent me to an independent ID verification company which asked for fotos of basically all of my IDs, only to be told they only accept a birth certificate and SS card. After a real hassle, I got a copy of my Birth certificate and my ID was verified. We are into the 3rd month now and my card will work for online usa purchases, but not at ATMs. I have re directed my SS payments. DO NOT USE Direct Express!

My brothers home was broken into while…

My brothers home was broken into while he laid in the hospital for two months. He had nearly everything he owned stolen including his cell phone, bank box with pin #s, wallet, bank card, bank statements and trustee statements. DIRECT EXPRESS refused to reimburse my brother for money stolen stating that whomever had his card had pin so he must have given it to them. I sent them police report, proof he was fighting for his life in a semi coma for 2 months with sepsis and later open heart surgery due to sepsis infection that nearly killed him. He lost his apartment and nearly everything he owned Because after two months SS was stolen he couldn't pay rent. Imagine getting out of the hospital 3 days after open heart surgery homeless. He just spent another week in hospital and his April 3 SS money stolen again. DIRECT EXPRESS REFUSED to deal with my brother because he does not text or use email. They refused to text my phone which is linked to his account. My brother lost his apartment and nearly 5,400. DONT USE THEM. this message approved by my brother.

I agree they are the ones stealing the…

I agree they are the ones stealing the funds. Almost 200 dollars in transactions were taken off my account without a pin number. I tried to get an investigation going and was transferred ten times and asked the same information every time. It's meant to frustrate you. Then they have the combative argumentive person at the end of the line screaming and talking to you with all disrespect after you had been patient and calm through hours of shenanigans--this after having to wait more than a month to get somebody on the line through endless holds.

Finally, when they were supposed to give me pertinent information the pretense that the connection had broken up and the hangup. Then the whole charade over again.
They are just having a good time at the people's expense laughing.

This is your government.

Tormenting people for the hell of it.

With computerization there's no need for there to be a single hold, or wait. Everything could/should be automatic--even transaction disputes.

But I read how people are getting the runaround in any and every way over something they worked their whole lives for and many need desperatedly,
And a lot of it from people who never put a year into building this land.

I'm not just talking about a certain group. A lot of people of all ethnicities are on SS, and getting the same bs., after giving their whole lives to a contract that they invested in.

Do those people care?

They are stealing the funds and the government know what they are doing to the people.
The stress is literally killing people and they know that too.

When money is stolen from SS recipients, they should be reimbursed immediately like credit cards companies do. If after an investigation, fraud from the claimant is found then you take action. They always have access to the funds so they don't have to worry about not getting the money back. A lot a people lives depend on getting their funds when they supposed to get it.

People take their lives behind this b.s.

Direct Express is stealing the money. They locked my account the first week after I got my card.
They said I tried my password too many times when I only tried it once. And it was right, because I had the app on my phone and I had the phone remember and fill in the password.

They didn't want me to be able to monitor my transactions online, without having to call them all the time when you can never get them.

It's clear to me they plan to steal from certain people from the beginning--the most vulnerable and voiceless.
The government read the internet like I do. They know what's going on.
I'm going to transfer to another bank. but it'll probably be the same thing, or they most likely will pull every stunt to make it as difficult as possible

AVOID AT ALL COSTS

I got this card six years ago as it was shown as being one backed by the Treasury Department; actually the only one listed.. Three years ago I had two instances of unauthorized use (fraud) and had ten days to file paperwork with them; it took eight days before i received the forms.. i got them back on time and some time later was told they had determined that no fraud had ocurred.. even with the fact that one of the uses was for payment at a drop off delivery service in Leeds England.. ie: i would have had to be personally in England to make the charge.. asked for their paperwork on how they made their decision and was sent the paperwork i had already sent to them; unmarked and unwrinkled even... lost $600 to them then..... have been trying to get a hold of someone for the past two months for a second instance that will cost me all of my months social security money; all i have ever gotten was that they were so busy and to call back another time.. and they hang up.... the very worst company with the very worst customer service with the very worst kind of a conscience.... finally making the move to another company... AVOID AT ALL COSTS
