I was undecided about the 10x42 or the 8x42 but glad I went with the 8s. Things that were important to me were, Quality, Size Weight. Its all a bit of a compromise but these fit the bill and my requirements. Any more magnification may have increased shake to the image. The quality of the image in good light is amazing with low light excellent too. Quite like the additional harness strap included, but yet to actually try it out in the field.

Good binoculars, bought a second pair for my son
Probably the best binoculars all round. Use them now all the time. They have transformed my hillwalking and even just using them to watch birds and wildlife in the garden (despite NOT being a birdwatcher). They are ridiculously cheap for the quality. I conducted a huge amount of research before purchasing these and all the "experts" rated them very highly. I see why. They are so good that I ended up getting another pair for my wife as it was so irritating having to share them on walks. They are very sturdy, obviously well made and I cannot recommend them highly enough. My friend has a set of Opticron binoculars which cost vastly more and was amazed when we compared them. I laughed, he cried.
Excellent binoculars - clear sharp bright image, high quality optical components, a little chromatic aberration in extreme backlighting but not noticeable at all in other conditions, excellent quality given the price range.
High quality binoculars with very bright imaging because of ED, in the couple of times I’ve used they seem excellent.
Perfect binoculars for birding and clarity of view is spot on for this price
