RUDE and OFFENSIVE CUSTOMER SUPPORT

Ok the radar detector is great, and I have had one of their products for like 30 years.
However, call up support and they have an attitude. they are rude and condescending. They are not listening, they are just talking over you.
When you try to point that out, they say "so you want someone else to tell you?" Here" and transfer the call, to someone else who does not want to hear about the problem you just had with the last representative.
Clearly a small operation, perhaps family, but that does not justify their complete LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM

Product not worth the horrendous service

They are happy to take your money and then be rude to you, lie about you, and not deliver the service you paid for.

I paid for 2 day shipping so it would be there in time for a trip, it took 5 days. When I called I was treated rudely and lied to. I ordered early on a Wednesday morning and they claimed that I had ordered to late on Thursday afternoon so it did not ship until Friday, complete lie.

She also claimed that I had been told that it would not arrive until Monday, another complete lie.

They would not respond when I brought this to their attention.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced.

The customer service at this company is the worst I have ever encountered. I have purchased 6 (yes 6) V1's for my vehicles.
For Christmas I bought my son one as he will be getting his license this month. The radar detector arrived at my home and was wrapped and put under the Christmas tree. Upon my son opening the box and us installing it in his truck I could tell the smoked glass on the front of the unit was installed improperly.
I called customer service and spoke to the most condescending woman who stated "we have never sent out a defective unit". I urged here to allow me to email or text her a picture of the issue which she refused and said she would send me a UPS slip to have it sent back.
This morning I get a phone call from the same woman who informs me that the unit has been tampered with and that it was not sent out from there factory like this. Needless to say the conversation got a little heated as she wanted to know how I wanted to proceed and cover the cost of repair and shipping back to me. I had to ask to speak to her supervisor, at which time Mike Valentine got on the phone and also told me that there is no way they sent out this unit to me and that it had been taken apart and reassembled incorrectly. He also stated he would not pay to ship it back to me. But he did say he would waive the $45 service fee to repair it. At the end we agreed to split the shipping cost back to me.
I cannot believe a company that sells $400-$500 radar units would accuse me of tampering with a brand new radar detector and have the audacity to claim they have never sent out a defective unit.
Absolutely hands down the worst customer service I have ever received from a company.

Horrible!!

I’m not one to complain but valentine1 stole my money! I ordered from valentine1 and never received my package. I called numerous times asking about my package and their response was that it is not our problem that you didn’t get what you ordered and there will be no refund. Horrible people horrible customer service! Buy and support anybody but this company!

Great products. Horrible Customer Service People

First off, love Valentine products. Have 2 V1's and I've been a customer for 6+ years. (or so I thought.) Given I didn't buy my V1's directly from Valentine, but rather I purchased on Amazon, Martha Johnson at Valentine informed me that I'm not a customer and proceeded to bait me with continuous emails with her ongoing passive aggressive tone.

This all started b/c I was attempting to order a $12 replacement cable for 1 of my V1's. So I went to the Valentine website, found the cable, checked out, and completed my order. Figured I was done at this point and my cable would arrive 4-5 days later. Nope.

Hours after I made my purchase, I got an email from Martha Johnson (customer service) at Valentine asking for the serial number of my V1 so they could register it for me. I explained that wasn't necessary + I couldn't even provide the SN# as my V1 is currently sitting in a shipping containing about to be transported w/in my car from Germany to the US.

Martha then informed me that my order could not be processed w/o my Serial Number. What? Keep in mind that I'm just ordering a $12 cable.

I asked her where the post-purchase, forced registration process was coming from over a $12 cable. Martha then proceeded to tell me that I'm not really a customer b/c I originally bought my unit elsewhere and that they wouldn't ship me a cable w/o registering my SN#. What? Who does that? It's a cable. But wait a minute....how am I not a customer? I have 2 Valentine units. When I buy a Dell at Best Buy, Dell still considers me a customer. When I buy an Apple Phone via Verizon, Apple still considers me a customer.

I cancelled my $12 cable with Valentine, and simply bought the cable on Amazon in 2 seconds. It arrived same day. (hell, I bought 2 cables for $26...as Amazon had more options - ie. standard cable + one that allows me to wire directly into my rear view mirror. This equated to more options + faster shipping + less of a hassle vs. buying direct from Valentine)

So take note Valentine. Your customer service is absolutely horrible. Martha Johnson should be fired as she's clearly hurting your brand. This is the reason Amazon is crushing it....they truly get what customer service is.

Very weird experience

Very weird experience. I want to buy their product and they just say that they won't sell me their product because I am a fraud. Don't know where they get that, but that's what Martha from customer "service" says.

Mike Valentine should get himself some good and new employees if he wants to sell his product and fire Martha Johnson.
