I had my window installed this year and I have not had any problems with it, but I was disappointed to learn that Velux never bothered to register with the gov't and get a number so that their custome... See more

Where on earth is my blind!!!
The vellux products are pretty good, but the delivery has been appalling, the use of Evri means I've been waiting over two weeks for my blind despite velux sending it to them in 24 hours. The problem is neither company wants to accept responsibility, despite the cost of the blind being taken from my account immediately - this it ancient customer service in this day and age!!!
Velux windows are bad.
We bought the house with relatively-new Velux windows fitted. Within a couple of years the blinds failed. Replacement is almost impossible owing to the over-complicated mountings, which use complex aluminium extrusions.
An independent window fitter advised that replacement is easier than repair, and that many of his clients are replacing their Velux windows with better alternatives.
As for Velux 'customer service', the only word that adequately describes them has four letters starting with S and ending with T.
AVOID THEM.

Offers warranties that require specific items they only make, kicker is they dont make the specific items..... so no warranty. Sounds like the gimmick with the solar tax credit as well.
Extremely disappointed – 5 months with a broken Velux window
I moved into my flat six months ago, and by April, the Velux window had already stopped working. I was told it was part of a faulty 2023 batch and would be replaced free of charge.
It took two months just to get an engineer out. When he finally arrived (very helpful guy), he couldn’t complete the job because the back office had messed up the paperwork. One report said the window was broken, but later documents downgraded it to a fitting issue. So they only sent one engineer for what is clearly a two-person job.
Now, the earliest they can rebook me is the end of September. That’s five months without a functioning window — and no ventilation in the only room that needs it — all due to poor admin and planning.
I understand it’s a two-person job, but I don’t understand why there’s no urgency or flexibility in scheduling. Why aren’t there contractors or additional resources available to resolve known faults more quickly?
Very disappointed with the service. I shouldn’t be waiting nearly half a year to fix a faulty product.
If I don’t hear back soon, I’ll have no choice but to escalate this through formal complaints channels. I’ve been more than patient but five months without a working window due to a known fault is unacceptable.
Excellent customer service
I asked a tall visitor to open my roof lights. He decided to ignore the ladder and pulled hard instead, breaking two of my openers.
I rang velux to find out if they did spare parts. I explained what had happened, the customer service man said no problem, and arranged for both openers to be sent free of charge!!
My partner said they were all well designed and really easy to fit. So that was an additional bonus. Thank you Velux. I'm a customer for life now!
Zero customer service support
Velux has become the worst product in my entire home.
Velux has become the worst product in my entire home, particularly the blinds. The price is laughably high, and for some of the worst products i have ever had to deal with, they clearly do not live up to the standards they used to.
5 blinds from velux from the early 2000 have held up well, but i have had to replace 3 for new ones. None of them have lasted more than 3 years without issues, and none more than 5 without being rendered completely unusable. Essential plastic parts easily break, strings get stuck and render the blind inoperable unless they are cut completely, meaning you have to purposefully destroy the product simply to have it "work". The one above my bed bleeds so much light it just feels like a 200 euro piece of cloth lazily taped to a window. For the price they come at, truly a misaken purchase in my opinion.
So slowwwwwwwwwww
Products are okay, but they have a very limited online spares shop for "the public" which means you cannot find standard parts. This then means either A. phoning in, a protracted process, to finally speak to someone who doesn't have a clue, or B. email "customer services" [this is obviously an ironic title], and wait up to 72 hours for them to get back to you. Another company where the tail is wagging the dog.

Do Not USE
Do Not USE
Do not use. I ordered a Velux Cabrio. I was informed it would be delivered on 3rd June in the evening. I waited patiently at the building site, no delivery, no call. They then said it would be deliverd on the 4th to no effect. I called and they said it would be delivered on the 5th and surprise surpise it wasnt. I have had 4 roofers on site for 3 days waiting for delivery and am significantly out of pocket. They repeatly said they would call me back but never did. They would not even let me make a complaint as they said this would need to come via the supplier. They then tried to get around it by saying we only give estimated delivery time slots and they can be out by 48 hours, what rubbish. This is what happens when you run an almost monopoly. There CEO Lars Peterson should be ashamed of himself.
Racist company
Copper flange over top edges of jambs a mess.
Replaced a 30 yo velux venting skylight just because i was having a new roof installed. First skylight would not close because copper flashing was 1/4’ higher on sides of jamb than bottom. Contractors suppliers got a second on in a factory sealed box this time and not much difference. Wish i could post pictures here.
A waste of time
I had a frustrating experience with this company. As a general contractor, I simply needed a base price for three models. Dan initially reached out, but his tone was condescending throughout the process. He promised a price but kept me waiting, and after two weeks of follow-ups on my end, he became frustrated when asking a question I had already answered. He then stated that he "respectfully doesn't have time to help me" and chose to withdraw from the conversation. Definitely not the level of professionalism I expected.
We purchased a blackout blind
We purchased a blackout blind. They sent the wrong instructions. They then sold us extra parts we didn’t require. Once we figured out how to fit the blind (very difficult) it worked very poorly. Avoid velux blinds they are awful and a complete waste of money.

I rate this one star because my mom just passed and they literally fired her for dieing and then she went though the surgery and she had insurance on that company too did not give a single penny do not recommend trying
Very poorly run company
I want to say firstly as a blind installer of Velux for some 20 years now, the products are of excellent quality…
However the staff at Velux are very helpful and do their best which I’m happy with…
But how the company is run and set up in the background is absolutely appalling…
They should invest a just a little time and effort in correcting this and then I think they will getting 5 star reviews nearly all the time…

Delighted repeat customers of…
We are delighted repeat customers of Velux.
Our first installation was a GGU 008 central pivot window for an ensuite to our Victorian apartment
in the conservation area of South Hampstead, London, which we absolutely loved. Wonderful feature and no problems whatsoever.
When subsequently renovating our New Zealand home we chose exactly the same window for our seaside residence. As is sometimes the case there were a couple of issues. We cannot speak highly enough of Velux NZ Managers Dean Pocock, Grant Cullum and certified installer Dougal Taylor, who without hesitation promptly fixed both issues to our complete satisfaction, one of which was a leaking flashing almost at the end of the 10 year warranty period.
We unreservedly recommend Velux as a first class international brand with wonderful after sales service.
Watch out for scaffolding con
I wanted a replacement window fitted when I had scaffolding up for another reason. They told me they would have to provide their own scaffolding for ‘insurance purposes’! What a con! It costs £1500 minimum to scaffold our house so why would I pay twice! I thought these were supposed to be the best. Clearly, we won’t be using them 😡
If Planned Obsolescence was a Company
I loved my skylight until it stopped working. It's only ten years old but Velux no longer carries a part for it that was obviously meant to be replaced (A simple battery pack) Instead they have redesigned the skylight so the battery is integrated into a much more expensive part. Oh and by the way, they acknowledge the battery in the more expensive part will fail in 10-12 years, requiring you to re-purchase another $500 part (which will likely be redesigned into a much more expensive part between now and 2035).
I am purchasing a brand new skylight that costs significantly more than $500 from a different company because I cannot support a company like this.
