Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

My cat was brushed off, I bought her in regarding a seizure, they took her straight through with no indication of what they were going to do/give her. All they did was prescribe her gabapentin and give her a anti-nausea injection and made us believe it was a one-off thing, and nothing serious, despite them even noting themselves about her heart rate sounding muffled, and her abdomen bloated. They said it was likely t4 issues, but our regular vet genuinely believed my sweet girl had a brain tumour and said an MRI would be best course of action - we never got round to doing an MRI as she didn’t last long enough to get to the appointment. I genuinely feel as if they just wanted us out as quickly as possible and our payment as quickly as possible, which was a staggering almost £600. Later, my babies seizures got more and more frequent and she died Sunday in the early hours. Not just the seizures, but she wasn’t herself at all - she had lost weight. Our regular vets we took her to on sat, genuinely couldn’t understand why you didn’t request further testing and just why you were happy to send her home that easy

Nurses and vets alike took very good care of my dog whilst PDSA was investigating the issue. They were caring, honest and compassionate.
Would recommend Vets Now.

Our cat Rosie was limping badly and our vets were closed. We contacted Vets now at Barnett and took her up there and was seem very promptly. The Vet explained everything and she was given painkillers to make her more comfortable until we could see our own Vet.

I arrived at Vets Now - Banet in a state of panic - an idiot had left some garlic filled olives on a able, and my dog -being a dog - ate two of them. The vet had been notified by an emergency centre, and they were aware of the reason for our visit. I had a short wait, then they took my boy in for an induced vomit
:(
All was good, we were given gastrointestinal food, and a charcoal 'tincture', which he was very happy to eat. I had a couple of queries that night and the next day, and I was helped speedily. Thank you to the Vets Now team. Ann R. and Mister x

The experience I had was caring, professional & traumatic as sadly it was an emergency visit. Lovely vet, done tests and explained everything. Our usual vet took over the next day.

He was fine until we got home, but he was still very sleepy. He ate and drank a little when he got back, but I'm worried that he's always sleeping. I think he needs some tests.

My dog had severe diarrhea for 3 days, so I needed to see a vet on a urgent basis. I found the vet in Barnet to be kind, thorough and helpful when examining my dog. She determined that there was nothing serious to treat. She administered water into her system and gave her a shot to ease the discomfort from a very sore rear end. Within a day she had her appetite back and the diarrhea is easing.

They literally saved my Mario's life. The vets, nurses and reception team were all wonderful. Friendly, polite, empathetic and gave both me and the cat the best service. Can't recommend them highly enough.

The lady Dr was wonderful fully helpful and supportive but the timing and treatment was limited in an emergency hospital Barnet for over night. Too far for me to come early in the morning to pickup my cat. Otherwise they gonna charge me for hourly and the other option they gave me pay for the taxi for transportation. Omg I am disabled person without any income asked my wife 20 pounds for petrol. They were confusing me while I was driving in rush hours keep checking me how far I am . Very annoying very disappointing first time in this Barnet emergency vet hospital.
