Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.

That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.

Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.

Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.

We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Enforced payment of insurance claim administration fee

No complaints about the service and grateful for vets being available out of hours - however was given a collar that was not big enough and the receptionist insisted I paid a £35 fee for ‘administration’ of insurance claim regardless of whether I administered my own claim or vets now did it - they were adamant it was compulsory when it materialised subsequently it was actually optional. I have registered a complaint and requested refund and await a response …….

Was told by a different vet my cat…

Was told by a different vet my cat wouldn't make it till Monday and was best to pts however vet now saved my boy and gave him a clean bill of health and I couldn't be more grateful they went above and beyond to make sure he gets the correct medication for his condition to improve the quality of life he has.

Amazing service

Amazing service . The receptionist was lovely & friendly and the lady vet that we saw was absolutely fabulous. Very professional, she explained things thoroughly and was very reassuring.

Emergency vist

I visted the out of hrs with my very poorly pet isabella gibson on 26. 10.25.The whole team from receptionist to nurses to vet himself were kind professional. I have visted twice before and happy with there seevice.

Quick, helpful assistance

The receptionist made me a cup of tea and took my insurance info, I was seen quickly, vet did a thorough exam and gave me a clear explanation if his diagnosis and what I should do next. They have a cat waiting area to keep them separate (although there were no dogs there at the time).

I would rate below zero if I could

I would rate below zero if I could. Stay away. If your dog has something serious go immediately to Langford and don't waste your time. No diagnosis, no clue, no further investigations. I only write this because if your dog is seriously sick you do the right thing. Sadly in the UK there is little competence. Don't waste time with local vets and do serious annual checks (X-rays or ultrasounds).
