Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Only downside is finding your way across the carpark at night - main racecourse entrance needed

Gave my dog away to a stranger. They dont even know who they gave it to. Refused to discuss anything. Wouldn't let me speak to anyone to even discuss

The vets were good, but the financial aspect is absolutely terrible. I have had to use vets now twice, and both times it has taken a very long time to get the money refunded to me after my insurance company has paid them.
I last used vets now at the end of December, and the insurance company paid them on the 9th January. I am STILL waiting for a refund, and this has put me in financial difficulty as the amount owed is substantial. The whole point of insurance is so that you don’t have to deal with this kind of thing. I have sent a complaint and called many times, but I’m still waiting to hear back.
I’m going to switch my regular vets, purely so I do not have to use vets now again and deal with their inability to send timely payment.

Lovely knowledgeable vets who really care and know what to do in a crisis. We saw Matthew and he was fantastic. He quickly made my dog sick after she had eaten some raisins and was wonderful and reassuring. My dog absolutely loves all the staff and was treated like their own pet. Couldnt ask for a better service. 5******************* doesn’t come close. Thankyou Cheltenham Vets Now.

The aftercare customer service is appalling. Took our cat there in May on a Sunday and sadly had to have her put down. Vet on the day was lovely. Then the problem started, as they put down the wrong cause of death on the insurance claim. This causes us real distress. They rectified it but the stress this caused until rectified, at a time of great upset, was awful. Then got a bill for a small final amount they said was owed, so at which point decided to complain (in August) about the distress caused. Still no resolution to complaint although it's nearly Christmas. They have stalled/ignored for weeks now...Beware....
Update 10.12.25 - despite what Vetsnow say below, they have NOT provided a final response, and so again, seems to be disjointed and misleading

The fees, even for out-of-hours, were outrageous. Indeed, I paid over 500 pounds for virtually nothing, for the vet was unable to make an inspection of a cat! Could not I or an assistant have helped? The ‘consultation’ fee seems to be just that! If the vet has actually to act, one has to pay more. I was blithely told that my insurance claim would be handled by the vet, but was not informed that the service came at a cost; that cost - according to the invoice- included the vet’s time in ‘signing off’ the claim; extraordinary!! In all, a very poor performance

I had to rush my dog into vets now on Friday the 13th of June.
Both the vet and vet nurse were absolutely brilliant.
We were in the practice for nearly 3 hours. I can't fault the care my dog was given in what was unfortunately his final hours with me. I lost him the following day.
I'd give 100 stars if I could, they really were brilliant.
