Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Clear instructions on how to find the practice and what was required from ourselves.
Very Happy to say our little dog had a restful night thanks to the vets intervention following his
surgery that morning. Got a follow up call and appointment from our own vet the next morning

I took my dying dog to Clay Cross Chesterfield Vets Now. Upon arriving I was greeted with the receptionist who was nice, but over worked as it was a busy bank holiday. I waited my turn to see a Vet. I brought in my dying dog, put him on the table and she said he was skin and bones. And that he should be Euphanised. I was totally devastated. While waiting for him to be Euphanised, people kept walking through the room I was in with my dying dog. Totally unprofessional, I even had to pay the bill over his dying body, to top it off the door was left open to the waiting room just as he was Euphanised. The nicest person to me was the receptionist, not the Vet. Not Happy!

The team at Chesterfield were brilliant, after arriving at their door with a very poorly dog. He had to be kept in overnight, but during the evening we received updates on how he was doing, which helped us, as we have never been parted from him before.
Thank you to all concerned in Benji's treatment.

The vet listened and having looked at our dog diagnosed the issue without pushing additional tests.

Awful. From the second I walked in to leaving the whole process was frustrating, non animal focused, and very poor. You should be embarrassed with the service provided

Lovely receptionist, was struggling with the cost and she made me not feel embarrassed about it and helped us out! Lovley service and very caring with our pet!

I was desperate to have some help for my cat and the VET has sorted him out promptly. It was a little pricey but when one needs help money becomes a lesser problem.

Wouldn’t use again!
Was advised on the phone there may be a wait to see a vet, no idea of how long that may be was mentioned..but we were told we would be triaged when we got there. Finally, After waiting approx. 1 and a half hours and pointing out twice in that time that nobody had triaged our pet, we finally saw a vet nurse, our pet was checked and pain relief was advised, the nurse took our pet to the back to administer it and we were advised we would then need to wait to see the vet. Our vet ‘consultation’ consisted of a 2 min chat to ask if our pet had eaten, so she knew which painkiller to use, she would prescribe pain relief for home, and we should go to our own vet if things didn't improve..£313 charge before any treatment, the pain relief for home was at a cost of over £50..(available online for little over £5) and we literally had a 2 min chat with a vet and we spent pretty much 2 hours there! Add to that, despite us paying the bill and having to claim on insurance ourselves, they also charged a £35 fee for handling the insurance claim..literally sending the info to the insurers..seriously looking into changing our vet to one who provides their own out of hours cover now.
