Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Polite and efficient, nice vet, had it been an obvious problem, like a wound, or a cat or dog, the treatment would have been fine. As it was the ferret was made comfortable until I could get him to my own vet where the diagnosis was confirmed and exploratory surgery proved the prolapsed bladder to be accompanied by heart failure.
I have no issue with out of hours vets but my heart sinks when it comes to my ferrets because knowledge is so limited.

Calm reassuring friendly staff. Seem very fast and referral set up all on a bank holiday. Thank you

The vet we saw was lovely, explained everything to us and made sure we understood. We weren’t rushed and she took her time with our cat, calming and making a fuss of her before she did any checks.

Staff are brilliant, very friendly and knowledgeable. You get such amazing service. I am quite sure that if I had not taken my dog here she would have passed away overnight. I wish they did a day practice. As vets now are so much better than my day time vets.
This is the third time I have had to use the out of hours vets and every time they have done outstanding work. Cannot recommend enough.

Phoebe was FANTASTIC. It just such a shame emergency vets are so expensive. Luckily for once I had the money upfront to pay. £423!! As my dog is insured, I will get the money back. What about most pet owners, who wouldn’t have the money to pay. The idea of any pet being ill and in pain, not being treated, because the owner cannot afford the astronomical bill, really upsets me. It’s not the owners fault; but these conglomerates, that have turned vet practices into businesses. I don’t blame individual vets either. Being a vet is a vocation not A MONEY MAKING business.

They knew exactly what they was doing, they were quick to jump in action. Although very expensive, they saved my rabbits life.

My dog was seen by a local vet within 20 minutes of my phone call. We were treated very well and had all our options explained to us. Came away very happy.

The £350 fee before consultation is exorbitant, I really feel for the people who do not have this sort of money and potentially will leave their animal to suffer until they can get to there own vets.

Appalling, they don’t even deserve one star!
£400 for putting my pet on 20 minutes worth of oxygen. The vet, a Spanish man who commutes from Madrid (wages must be good here) spent 5 minutes with us and put the animal on oxygen for 20 minutes while he attended another patient. Boom! Thank you very much KERCHING!! That’ll be £400 please. Next! Sends him home - he’s fine, nothing wrong, he says. 10 days later my pet is having to be put to sleep.

My dog which is a Tibetan spaniel was attacked by our home on Rock A Nore beach by a Cane Corso off his lead. I thought my boy might die. The care he received was what I would want for him. He’s great now

Somewhat disappointed having to pay £339 + meds for a 10 minute consultation on a Saturday afternoon. Rather expensive considering it was a Saturday afternoon.
