Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The 2 people in the vets were so kind and profesional and when you consider it was 2.30 in the morning they were great.

The vet Susanna was incredible - her communication and explanations about our pets changing condition were first class. We could not have asked for more and her the team’s excellent care meant our dog is now on the road to recovery from a very serious illness. We can’t thank you enough….

Saved my whippet Aiyana from dying, after she had food poisoning from a plant on her morning walk. Poisoning took full effect around tea time and after an emergency visit to a local vet, who kindly stayed open until after 7pm. Advised to take her to vetsnow hospital in Herne Bay, Kent.
Great work through the night and Aiyana was ready to come home in the morning, brilliant, thank you very much.
(An expensive service, it isvital.)

The receptionist was absolutely delightful, informative and helpful.
Sadly, we felt that the actual vet could have done more. She was reluctant to be hands on with the dog and suggested visiting our own vet the following day.
The painkillers prescribed did fortunately assist.

The staff manning the emergency clinic were kind, supportive and professional. Our dog had experienced a seizure for the first time - we were anxious and so was he. He was examined promptly and we received reassuring and helpful advice. Thank you!

My lovely girl was treated quickly and with care. I was also confident that she was treated well. Overall a very positive experience that has made my girl recover quickly!

The vet was really personable, put my daughter at ease, explained things well, told us what to expect and when to get in touch again.

Very gentle and caring with our puppy. Gave her a steroid injection to reverse her extreme allergic reaction which was supposed to work in a couple of hours but did not in fact work until the next day so we had a really bad night with her. The cost was extortionate considering it was only 5pm on a Saturday. This has been put on a credit card as £350 was not just lying around!!! I would’ve expected £150-£200.

See my dog in an emergency she was very loving and caring. Helped solve the problem

The out of hours emergency service was excellent. This is not our usual vet, but if it wasn't so far from us, we would definitely consider using them in future. The vet was incredibly caring to our dog, and saved his life that night. She was also very kind to us. They also notified our own vet, who called us the following morning to arrange a follow up.
