Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Was seen immediately but was discharged without any painkillers and when I phoned and asked why they had not given my dog pain relief to go home with was told they just didn'tgive it to her, I also asked when she last ate and whether to feed her and was told it was up to me if I wanted to feed her, also was not told when to start giving the antibiotics so also had to phone for that information, we was very distressed about our poorly dog and dont feel we had been given the correct information on discharge, our bill was around £1400 and our dog was no better so we went to our own vet the following day when they were open and they successfully done the operation the dog needed immediately. Would not trust your company with my precious dog again.

Considerate, kind and informative. Extremely kind to our dog, staff even sat on the floor with our dog to fuss her and keep her calm. They went above and beyond

We had to take our 15 year old spaniel to this practice @ 445 on new years morning as he had a seizure which ultimately demanded he be put to sleep.
Both the vet and her assistant could not have been more caring and supportive to my wife and I.
They made this distressing episode so much easier than it could have been and we are truly grateful.
Many Thanks

The vet was superb. The charges were outrageous.
I use two other local vets . Their daytime consultation fees are £45 or £55 . I expected to pay two to 3 times more than this for an out of hours consultation. They charged £350 which is seven times the day rate.
I had no option but to use this service as my cat was in distress and no other vet in my area provides out of hours services. Vetsnow have customers over a barrel .

We recently had to take our pup to Vets Now after she discovered and devoured a lot of grapes. Everybody was wonderful, even before we arrived we had good advice and were able to give all the info they needed. It was such a lovely calm environment and our pup was treated straight away. Glad to say she has recovered fully and I am so grateful to the team who with clear communication and advice made it a much less traumatic experience for us at such distressing time, and it was key in helping our pup recover quickly. Thank you!

I can't not give enough praise to this vets. I had to take my puppy two nights in a row and were so good with him. Advised me on all options and with no rush whatsoever. It felt like they went out of there way everytime. Keep up the good work.

The ladies was absolutely lovely, I felt guilty as it was but they put me at ease, they made my dog really comfortable. She can be a nervous with vets and growl, but they was so gentle and kind she didn’t. They let me stay with her and support her.

Prior to attending the Kings Lynn surgery on Christmas day we rang.
We knew our dog had numerous conditions, Cushing's, heart tumour, heart murmur, lumpy liver.
We advised that he was struggling to breathe sitting with his front legs supporting him and stretching his head upwards. We believed it was his time as we were told by our vet he would be fine until he wasn't then nothing more could be done
The person on the telephone said the euthanasia process was they would sedate him to relax him then give him another dose of medication which would put him to sleep.
Our dog was given oxygen when we arrived to help him breathe. The vet only gave one dose of medication. We acknowledge she said it would be quick but we thought he was being sedated. Our dog was stood fully alert and awake when this one dose of medication was administered. He then dropped dead. It was the most traumatic experience we have ever had.
We thought he was going to be sedated. Had we known no sedative was going to be given we would have asked for it. Or if advised it would be kinder not to I would have held him when the final dose was administered. Instead he was on all four paws and dropped dead.
We were so shocked we didn't say anything at the time. Not in the right frame of mind to discuss it. I rang to query him not being sedated afterwards and was told this is not necessary in all circumstances.
This was our baby, our first ever pet, we were honoured to have him for 12 years 1 month. We have always had him insured and in the pet club. We have always done what was best for him. Out of choice we would have rather taken him to Swaffham Vets where he is usually treated but as an emergency we brought him to you. We didn't want him to suffer.
We are 67 not youngsters and this experience has given us both sleepless nights.
We will be mentioning this experience to Swaffham Vets. What we would like is for you to take on board that the decision to not sedate should be discussed prior to euthenasia. To watch your pet literally drop dead is really not the experience we expected and will stay with us.

Vet was unclear. Said my cat had bad teeth when I then said but our vet said he has very clean teeth he then quickly said he had made a mistake and to ignore that. Wouldn't give a long lasting antibiotic injection said we needed another vet visit the following day. Felt it was more about making money than caring for my pet. Disappointed
