Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

My cat was very ill, last attempt at my vets at 6pm to give her injection and pain killers and see if she picked up, obviously I was concerned if she got worse through the night and really wished I had put her to sleep then, they said I could call the out of hours vets if I needed to, I thought ok, it will probably be double the price but there if I needed. The price for euthanasia is £120 they wanted to charged me £410 that's absolutely extortionate, there is no way you can justify it. I was set to take her and as I picked her up and set her down she seemed to pick up, that was about 9 o'clock. I watched her all night, around 3am she was worse and I knew it was the end, my vets opened at 8am and I took her, I feel terribly bereft and so guilty that I made her suffer those extra hours because of your beyond reasonable costs. Good job all the supermarkets, garages, restaurants, pubs, everywhere that's open after 6pm don't charge 4 times the normal price isn't it, I am beyond disgusted! Vets have already hiked up their prices, but your are the next level of robbery really, that's what it felt like to me, ordinary people just don't have that kind of money especially not in these fraught times where the cost of living has spiraled out of control. You should all be ashamed of yourselves!

The issue with my pet was resolved but I was astonished by the £302 fee just to see my pet. Then the cost of an injection to make my pet throw up something he ate (£200) was extortionate.
It's disgusting.

Before I even got there I knew how much it would cost and I had a rough idea of how long I would be there.
When I arrived I was greeted by a young woman just checked my details and she informed me that the was a few before me.
First we saw the nurse explained everything to her and after about 30mins we got to see the vet she was very pleased and had a calming voice so Benji was relaxed even when he got the injection.
To be honest it was a pleasant experience and I came away not worrying about Benji because everything was explained to me

Was told to phone vets now for advice re insulin dose for our diabetic dog who was being sick on a Friday pm if he wanted food later in the evening. Rang at approx 10.30 pm. I explained reason for call and person who answered went through a list of questions kept quoting £300 fee if we visited. I explained that I had intention of taking my dog due to no transport. I was told vet would ring me. I am still waiting for that call. Must admit the following morning at 6am my dog did eat and I rang and experience was different. Person was very helpful and passed info to vet and told me that as we had an appointment at our vet that morning to not give insulin and wait to see our vet.
We were quoted £1,500 by our vet on the Friday for overnight monitoring of our dog at vets now. Needless to say we declined and monitored him ourselves at home. These out of hour vet companies need looking into

Overpriced at £300+ just to see a vet! We suspected pancreatitis in our dog and were told it’s unlikely. We were allowed to take him home with painkiller and anti sickness injection, We went to our own vet next day, and after tests it was confirmed he did. At £300 plus med costs I’d expect a better diagnosis. On top of that, they failed to put our insurance claim through despite charging us the admin fee for it !!! Absolute rip off

Emergency vet is located in charity PDSA centre, so I’m charged almost £500 and others coming in with tiny donation amounts and all seeing the same vet.
Saw the vet for less than 5 minutes, no clue to what the problem was - but still offered to give me a quote to keep my dog overnight, no thanks!
Then when you claim on your insurance they will charge you £35 to click a button to confirm it for your insurance company. Absolute scandalous prices, complete robbery

Staff were lovely very professional and caring only problem was the price very expensive especially if the insurance won't cover it pdsa are in the same building using the same vets but at least 1000 pounds cheaper we had to take our dog out because we couldn't afford it but that's the only complaint
