Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I had to take my my dog to VetsNow Bittern on Sunday at midnight after he ingested an unknown toxin. The young lady vet who saw him was amazing with him, she took her time to him relax him, as much as was possible in those circumstances, and she gave him a very thorough examination, then after giving him meds and discharging him she made it clear that I could and should bring him back immediately if his condition worsened. Thankfully he made a full recovery.
She is a credit to your practice.

Having a vet available at weekends and out of hours is great, although very expensive.

We found ourselves in an emergency with our cat. Vets Now were brilliant and very quick to give her the life-saving treatment needed immediately and were able to stabilise her.
Without this treatment, I'm sure she wouldn't be with us today.

Vets now were wonderful when I rang in the night about my cat Albi. They offered plenty of advice and reassurance over the phone and in person when I brought him in a few hours later. They treated him quickly and gave him excellent care - very grateful!

As much as the Vets are very nice in there, the prices they are charging is absolutely diabolical. My dog came in with a corn on a cob stuck in her intestines and they wanted £5000 for a £900 operation which I had done the next day but they would’ve let my dog go and die because I didn’t have £5000. This is daylight robbery or should I say nighttime robbery! And how anyone can charge that much is disgusting

The helpful received from Adriana was outstanding and she was very understanding. The speed of getting into out appointment was also amazing. And the understanding of all staff for us arriving later than planned and still making sure we were seen quickly. Amazing service from all the staff.

rang up for emergency help for a stray who had been badly hurt, the gentlemen over the phone was so sweet and understanding.
Came in with the poor stray, and he was given immediate help. I cannot be thankful enough for the swift help after being sent in circles by others.
Thank you to the staff at the Southampton Bittrne branch :)
I hope my poor boy makes a speedy recovery and goes to a loving home!

Our very poorly dog spent one night with Vets Now in Southampton when she was on her way to recovery and they supported her really well.
Vets Now in Wimborne initiated her emergency care and were superb.
She then transferred to Southampton.
I cannot thank them enough.

I cannot thank Vets Now enough for the incredible care they provided. They truly went above and beyond for us, and I’m so grateful for the compassion, professionalism, and genuine kindness they showed our Milo.
From the moment we arrived, the team made us feel reassured and supported. They took the time to explain everything clearly, treated my pet with such gentleness, and showed real empathy during a very stressful situation, they cared as if it were their own animal.
The communication was excellent, the staff were exceptional, and the level of dedication they showed was outstanding. It's rare to find a practice that combines expertise with such heartfelt care, and I’m so thankful we found them.
Thank you for everything you did — it meant more than you know.

An emergency visit due to a dislocated tail on our 11 year old GSP. Friendly reception on arrival and an informative and sympathetic consultation with the vet, where treatment options were discussed.
Fortunately, the injury wasn’t severe enough for surgery or even x-ray, so a course of Metacam and keeping our girl as rested well as possible was the prescribed treatment.
Thank you.

The lovely vet -Merche, was amazing. So kind and so thorough. We were so grateful to bring our elderly lab back home on Christmas Day.

Had a scan the vet said but when I took him to my normal vet they scanned him again and found that he had a brain tumor so vets now did not look after my dog as all the medication that was prescribed was no good and got given the wrong diagnosis and sadly had to put him to sleep so he was in unnecessary pain an extra 2 days because of this

Very quick response. Very pleasant vet.
Unfortunately Lola is still unwell and being treated by my own vet.
Fingers crossed for this little puppy.

beautiful bulldog Holly suddenly showed signs of illness and very quickly became very stressed. It was early Sunday evening, so we phoned Vets now. (Alastair) the call handler was very efficient and directed us to the nearest emergency vets in Southampton, (backed up by txt) We were greeted by two very caring receptionists. The Vet (Rebecca) was superb. So calm, we were in bits, and her caring manner helped us cope. Even though Holly was unable to pull through we cannot fault the caring service we recieved. Thank you
