Find An Emergency Vet
Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Seen immediately, really kind and caring vet. Lots of reassurance and well explained.
Just a bit painful paying the bill!

Fast to see our pup in an emergency situation. Great communication throughout and a very friendly and very competent vet (who our pup loved). Would definitely recommend.

We contacted the vet for an emergency treatment as our little dog injured her paw and they were being very lovely first on the phone and then in person. They saw us quite quickly and checked accurately our puppy and give her the right medication. I would definitely recommend to others!

Excellent communication about the condition of my pet and the care it would get, what it might need etc.

My experience of vets now was informative, reassuring and caring. They worked fast to see our pup and did their best to make him feel better. The vet was so lovely and it was out of hours too. So glad we were able to be seen at vets now.

The out of hours service experience for me started well as I got to speak with an actual person, not a bot chat. Person picked up phone quickly.
Told me to come straight over to nearest clinic. They booked my cat in.
The staff were very nice and took care of my cat.
OMG I had no insurance. It's not cheap.
I had to take my cat to my normal vet on the Saturday morning for further treatment. Vets Now organised this.
When you are panicking because you don't know what's wrong with your pet, it's reassuring to know that Vets Now will take care of everything. It was very late on a Friday evening. Thank you to all staff. Cat Thomas now fixed.

Absolute scamming money grabbers! If you care about pet DO NOT take them there!
I was charged £400 for literally weighing my dog and calling a poison information line that was unnecessary. The vet never even consulted with me at any point.
I’ve tried complaining. I was first offered £80 to refund for making the call to the poison experts but they have now retracted as I said I would make this public.
This practise in Sutton is awful. STEER CLEAR!

The Vet was both kind and understanding, and explained things to me. I was relieved to receive a consultation at short notice.

Although the vet was dealing with a very poorly dog as soon as they were available they were able to advise us about care for our cat. We were kept informed of the wait. Thank you very much for being available to help us and the cat.

I took my pregnant cat in to Vets Now, as it was a bank holiday and my own vet was closed. She had had one kitten 8 hours earlier, and I could see that she had more to come, and was concerned at the delay between births. The vet was friendly, polite, and caring. She checked my cat, and ensured that the birth canal was clear, and then sent us home to wait. I asked for my cat to have oxytocin to accelerate the birth, but she refused to give this treatment, saying I could come back if the cat showed signs of distress. She did not, and had 2 more kittens 24 hours after the first one. I have since gone to my own vet, who gave my cat oxytocin to clear any afterbirth/debris. I was offered a scan, but I refused this. I paid £278.00 which I consider very expensive.

Fast and efficient and I thought all the staff were friendly. The only reason I did not give 5 stars was I felt it was a bit expensive .

My initial call was answered promptly and instructions text to me - this is so valuable as in the panic of calling you don’t always have a pen and paper to hand and can mishear information.
I arrived at the designated vets and warned there would be a delay due to the handover between night and day staff. It was a long wait but a member of staff did pop out and check we were ok and it might be a little longer. I didn’t mind waiting as being kept informed reassured me that we hadn’t been forgotten and reason for the wait unavoidable.
My pet and I were greeted by a wonderful vet called Jessica. She was full of reassurance, she listened, very tactile towards my dog. I wasn’t rushed, my dog was handled with kindness, thought, gently and positively. Over the 20+ years of being a pet owner and accessing out hours vet care this has to be the best experience to date.
My only criticism is the £25 fee for completing the insurance form is extremely excessive.
