Pet Care Advice
Customer Hub
Pet emergencies can happen at any time – including when your regular vet is closed.
That’s why our nationwide network of out-of-hours pet emergency clinics are open through the night, at weekends and on bank holidays, so we’re ready and waiting to provide expert pet emergency care when your regular vet is having some time off.
Our pet emergency clinics are the pet equivalent of A&E and our purpose is to give you and your pet the care and support you deserve, at the time you need it most, whether it’s four in the morning or in the middle of Sunday lunch.
Vets Now provides this trusted service to more than 1000 veterinary practices across the UK — from over 60 dedicated out-of-hours clinics and two 24/7 pet emergency hospitals. In total, we treat around 200,000 small animals every year — our highly-skilled team works hard throughout the night, weekends and Bank Holidays. So whether you’re in Aberdeen, Belfast or Portsmouth we’re there for you and your pet when you need us most.
We’ve also pioneered other ways to help pets, pet owners and the veterinary profession, such as our comprehensive referrals service and providing our staff with industry-leading training and development opportunities. We also support the pet blood transfusion charity, Pet Blood Bank UK. Meanwhile, our two hospitals — in Glasgow and Manchester — are home to some of the UK’s leading specialists in the field of emergency and critical care and provide care 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

I came in with my pet mouse and was very upset. The staff there were so welcoming and lovely. They put me at ease and didn’t make me feel stupid for being my mouse in as an emergency. My mouse is now on the mend and doing so much better. Thank you so much.

Whilst the vet was great & dealt with the issue promptly, I was horrified by the out of hours charge of circa £300! I have never been charged that much for an out of hours appointment. Plus an extra charge of £25 for claiming on my insurance. No idea how those prices can be justified.
Reply from vets received, and I understand where the costs go, but to me this still doesn't justify such a high out of hours fee. The vet was seen at 3 o'clock in the afternoon, not the early hours of the morning (in which case I would have understood the huge charge) & millions of people work Saturdays, Sundays & Bank Holiday Mondays so I still feel that this charge is way too high

Vets Now Worcester staff and vets are very professional and caring. They kept us informed throughout our visit with our dog Jet. Everything was explained about Jet’s problem and all information sent immediately to our veterinary surgery for follow up treatment the next day. 5star *****

Friendly staff who kept me in touch with my cats treatment, calling me twice a day to let me know how he was doing.

I was advised there would be a £340 consultation fee to see my dog. I have no insurance as my dog is old and thought it was an extortionate amount to charge. Apparently this is a standard charge. Maybe these standards need to change. Your response to me was could I borrow from family or friends. I don’t need to, I just don’t like being mugged

Receptionist was great. Very helpful. Vet was nice.
My only issue is when we phoned initially and told the person on the phone (they were not the ones at the vets) they could have given some better advice. On arriving at the surgery the first question I was asked was if we had given piriton. We had no idea we could give piriton and if we had been told it would have saved us an awful lot of money as it was bank holiday.

Absolutely extortionate prices! £300 just to take your very sick pet to the vets. It's bad enough that your pet falls very ill in the middle of the night, talk about rubbing a LOT of salt into a gaping wound by charging such a horrendous amount just to be seen by a vet. No other person who works nightshifts gets paid these kind of wages!
