We had an unforgettable time in a true…

We had an unforgettable time in a true little paradise in Provence. Villa Spencer exudes French elegance with its olive trees surrounding the property, offering tranquility and magnificent views. A terrace with a large table in the shade is perfect for French-style lunches. The swimming pool with its cascading fountain lulls you to sleep, and at the end of the day, a game of pétanque with a nice glass of rosé is a delight. The house has been decorated in a timeless style by the owner, with a certain je ne sais quoi – she certainly has excellent taste. We can't wait to return for another wonderful holiday with family and friends.

The best memories

We had two great family gatherings in this wonderful villa. It's a very special place, super well equipped, great open views, several spots to eat outside and a nice pool.

The children loved their time there and refer to it as the fun French house.

There's an open market almost every day in one of the charming villages nearby. If you like hiking, lots of opportunities as well.

If you're looking for a place for a family or friends' holiday, this place is perfect.

Gorgeous villa in beautiful surroundings

We just came back from a family holiday at Villa Spencer. It was a truly fantastic experience and we would love to go back.

The location is about 45 minutes drive from Nice on good roads. The final approach is narrow, steep and winding but even with a 9 seater van we managed it fine. There is a remote controlled gate for security. The agent who welcomed us on arrival was very pleasant.

The villa itself is not that old but constructed in traditional farmhouse style, with meticulous attention to detail. The architecture is just fantastic. Through a broad oak door you enter a spacious hallway with tiled floor. Up a sweeping staircase, there is a light and airy master bedroom on the first floor with dual aspect and gorgeous ensuite bathroom. There is another first floor bedroom with a high vaulted ceiling and an en suite. A third ensuite bedroom is on the ground floor is great for visitors with mobility issues. Downstairs, in an area which reveals itself like a hidden bunker, there are three further bedrooms, one with a bunk bed. These are ideal for kids. These share a toilet and bathroom. And there is a fantastic snug/TV room with piled up lounging mattresses perfect for crashing out. The lower floor has great views through the portico but is well shaded from the sun. The lounge on the ground floor has a large dining table and two majestic orange couches. There is a fireplace and two sets of double doors looking out onto the lush valley. A limestone floor runs through into the kitchen which boasts grey classical wooden units, and a huge island. There is a good cooking range, two dishwashers, and the full height fridge and freezer provide ample food storage. The kitchen leads out onto the terrace which is perfect for enjoying the beautiful patchwork of luscious trees and bushes that clothe the valley. The sun rises off to the left and soon after, mist starts to form in the gorge. After every rainfall, a heady and herbal fragrance rises from the vegetation. More steps lead to the pool, well maintained and salted. There is a cute gazebo seating area adjacent. There are three large outdoor dining areas in the property, and a garden filled with flowering plants and olive trees. The villa has AC in all rooms.

The locality is very quiet and tranquil. We experienced no disturbance apart from two days of thunderstorms which lasted all night and came with lightning like we've never seen before. The village of Le Bar sur Loup is very small, and not that interesting to be honest. There is a supermarket about 10 minutes away. Grasse, home of the perfume houses, is about a 30 minutes drive. You can get to the beach at Cannes or Antibes in under 40 minutes. There are lots of places to explore nature, hike, or cycle very close to the villa.

Overall, we would 100% recommend this beautiful villa for a large family vacation in the South of France.
