Extremely Rude and Unprofessional Service
This was my first experience processing a German visa application through Visametric, though I have travelled to Schengen countries multiple times and even lived in one for two years. I arrived punctually at Visametric's Dublin center for my scheduled appointment at 12:15 PM. Upon entering the waiting room, I noticed several applicants who had been waiting since appointments scheduled as early as 10:00 AM. After approximately 90 minutes, I was finally called in.
The staff member who assisted me, visibly of non-EEA origin, invited me to take a seat and immediately began demanding documents one after another without allowing me sufficient time to locate each requested document. Her tone was impatient, condescending, and argumentative. When I presented my travel insurance, clearly valid for my intended trip dates and explicitly covering Germany, she rudely demanded an insurance policy explicitly stating "Schengen Area."
I politely explained that I was only traveling to Germany and that my existing insurance policy met the German visa requirements. However, she refused to accept my explanation, becoming increasingly hostile and unprofessional. She threatened not to process my application unless I provided an insurance policy covering the entire Schengen area, effectively acting beyond her authority as a representative of Visametric. Clearly upset, she instructed me to wait outside and insisted she would only proceed once I complied with her demand. Frustrated and pressured, I was forced to purchase a second, unnecessary insurance policy covering all of Europe.
Her overall demeanour was unacceptably rude, confrontational, and unprofessional—qualities that should never characterize customer-facing roles. It deeply concerns me that other applicants may have similarly unpleasant experiences that go unnoticed or unaddressed. It is highly unfortunate that the German Foreign Affairs department partners with a commercial entity whose representatives display such disregard for basic courtesy and professionalism.
To future applicants: if you must process your visa through Visametric, particularly at the Dublin office, I urge you to reconsider alternatives if available. My experience was unpleasant, stressful, and wholly avoidable.
