In the past, I tried with mixed success to retrieve historical Italian vital records while living in the USA. After not receiving a response for my most recent request, I decided to use the services of VisureItalia. Graziella Mura managed my request of four documents from two comunes: two birth certificates, one death certificate, and one marriage certificate. The request took about a year to complete, but that was due to the speed of the comune (one comune responded quickly, but the other took nearly a year). Graziella always responded quickly to my requests for updates throughout the year, particularly for the one document that couldn't be found. It was also very helpful that I was able to obtain both a PDF of the documents and the hard copies (via DHL service). I would recommend this service to anyone looking to obtain historical vital records in Italy.
