The new Vons in Santa Monica is built…

The new Vons in Santa Monica is built in a large urban area. How could they have No handles on their grocery store paper bags? You can't carry your groceries walking. Talk about cutting corners or should I say cutting handles.

Vons continues to overcharge and not honor advertised prices despite having been disciplined by the courts recently for doing this. The app does not work and they do not actually take off the "coupons" that you spend time and effort to clip. They also do not honor their own in store promos (ie: Mix and match)

Von’s in Lyons in Newhall severely needed management intervention. Usually, all carts are in the parking lot and aside from the aisles being too narrow, employees further create a problem with displays impairing access; checking out is always an issue since they commonly do not have but one lane open, no bag people and overall attitude issues.

Lastly, being new to the area, if I must buy a bag, make certain that they sturdy since the handles commonly come loose.

Yes, I have a choice of where to shop and it will not be at that location.

Vons online ordering for pick up is a…

Vons online ordering for pick up is a mess. Prices listed change from when put in cart to checkout. Discounts vary or are not applied. Sale items usually out of stock without knowing until ready for pickup. Website is not updated with stock availability. Online customer support is pretty much useless. Generic responses with ongoing arm wrestling and numerous pieces of documentation to support your claim. Generally no results.

Vons is fine

Vons is fine. Depending on who is there sometimes you get very nice people who care and other times the people can be pretty rude. Their prices are a bit expensive though.

Rude, lazy Customer Service Agent

Vons Market; Store 2167, 350 N. Lemon Road, Walnut, CA91789
Dir Jerry Prado
I have been a loyal customer with this store for 25 years and I love shopping there. However my experience on this day at 11:41am was shocking. I was overcharged and NO APOLOGIES. Cashier was 'Lourdes'. I had 3 items , all on sale of which two of them, cookies and bread were from the discount bin and the 3rd item, a soup was on sale at $5.00. I asked right-away if any items was on sale and she said 'none' and presented me with a bill for around $17. I said that the cookies were picked up from the discount bin and she printed another bill with a reduced amount. I then told her that the bread should be discounted. She rambled something and presented with an adjusted bill. But there was NO apologies from her and I said that the service could be better . She made some rude and nasty comments and this time seeing her attitude ,I did not pursue with the soup, 3rd item which was on store sale and instead that next time she was going to be reported to the Manager. She said "Go ahead, I don't care" flexing her muscles. I was not even offered a bagging service. Obnoxious attitude. People like these should be sent for adequate training prior to employment. However there are some others who should be commended including the young irishman in green St. Patricks Day costume who services very gracefully, I must say.

I rarely leave negaI hope management takes notetive reviews

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my last visit to this grocery store was disappointing. The produce section had several fruits and vegetables that were clearly past their prime, and the shelves in a few aisles were half empty.

On top of that, the staff seemed uninterested in helping — when I asked about a specific product, I got a shrug and “I’m not sure.” The checkout line was slow even though it wasn’t busy.

I hope management takes note, because with a little attention to freshness, stock, and customer service, this place could be so much better.

I wish I could have given MINUS 10 stars…

I wish I could have given minus 10 stars...Hands down the absolutely WORST grocery store experience (on College in Oceanside) ever in my view . Repeatedly bad experience with extremely POOR POOR POOR customer service (including their Starbucks stand), most of which are poorly trained INEXPERIENCES hired "very young help", some are even rude. Significant higher prices than any other grocery store in the immediate vicinity . Probably the SLOWESSSSST customer service in the universe. Constant slow checkout service, and the only grocery store around (so it seems), that is yet to install self checkout service...truly laughable!
This store is still operating in a level of operation from the 50's!!!!!!but with the 21st century RUDENESS...

To the editor, Vons avalon

To the editor,
This is a letter regarding our “ friendly neighborhood Vons”.
We all are aware of the only grocery store in our small community, and for those of us that have been on this island for a while are all aware of the transitions throughout the years. At one point having Safeway, then moving forward to a little Vons and a bigger Vons, all the way to the current store of our “big” Vons store.
Now when the newest “big” Vons opened we were all exttatic to have a “big” store, and we had a great manager and it seemed a great hard working crew to keep the store moving along for the demand of our locals as well as the tourists. The store always seemed to be moving along with the shelves stocked and plenty of cashiers, that is until recently.
It seems ever since the last manager left approximately 6 months ago, the store has seem to be falling apart. I remember the first week this new manager was at the store I was waiting for a breakfast burrito at around 6:30 am and this lady walked in and started yelling at the deli employees, asking why they aren’t working? They were working I thought to myself. And kind of thought that maybe she was joking, so I blew it off. A few days later I was in the store in the morning, and then I saw the same woman yelling at a couple of guys stocking the shelves telling them they can not speak Spanish in the store. That’s when I figured this must be the new manager everyone was talking about. I thought how rude. Then a couple of weeks later my friends mom ( who is her late 70s) asked one employee for help to get something off a shelf, and I guess Brittney the new manager got mad at the employee and told them not to talk to the customers only work. That is just beyond rude.
At that time I knew two things one this manager is racist as well as a person that should not be at this store! This is a small town where the employees have always helped the customer bout not in her eyes, to her this is wrong. I was not sure about the racism part until a friend of mine ( a Hispanic) went to apply for a job as well as 2 other Hispanics and she did not even acknowledge their applications, and around the same time a white person applied and they got offered a job. Not only is she not giving equal opportunity, but also cut everyone’s hours under 40 hours ( that’s why shelves are not as full as they should be).
Now this last week (the first 10 days of march) she has suspended 6 different employees for the most ridiculous reasons. 2 fired the first day. Then 2 checkers for helping with a phone number to get the Vons rewards, and 2 others because ( apparently for being friends)! Regardless I believe the legal protocol is a written warning, then suspension. But I believe she thinks she is above the legal procedures, and does everything her way.
I also know for a fact a few of our local residents have written to the Vons corporation and HR department, and many of the higher ups complaining about the new management, and for days still no responses from anybody. Pretty much seems as they do not care what goes on in our Vons store even though it is the highest grossing store in the state.
Every employee that has not been suspended or fired illegally are all in fear of loosing their jobs in our local store, but too afraid to speak up. She has already suspended or fired 8 or 9 people total in the last 2 months, and all illegally. I myself walked in the store the other afternoon and she was policing the self check outs and I said excuse me 3 times and she still would not step out of the way I finally went around the woman, she just looked at me rudely.
Folks in my eyes we do not need someone like that in our community, these employees have worked hard and loyal for this store for years, and only to get pushed out for the dumbest of reasons right before their retirement. Totally unfair!
We as a community should do something and say something, it’s ridiculous that the employees are not supposed to help their customers, as well as only hiring whites.
They do have a Vons complaints phone number
877-505-4040 Please stand behind our community and show your concerns by calling in
The next person illegally fired or suspended could be a relative of friend or spouse.
Thank you

Store experience

I was at 3161 . Located 10321 sepulveda , mission hills, ca 91345.
Date 02/15/25

I ask the about the rest rooms while checking out the cashier she said by produce these while she was checking my products. Then I ask is there a code and she said yes. She told me the code but I had a million things in my mind and asked her if she would write it down but she kept repeating the code over and over and she said also said she did have t anything to write with . These cashier name is Rosa and she wears plain clothes which make her a some kind of a manager. Eventually another employee came in the picture and because of that she told the employee to go and open the restroom door. Cashiers need to a pen in hand specially if their managers.these cashier didn't want to assist me and was rude by repeating the code over and over and not writing it down .

Two weeks ago I posted a one-star…

Two weeks ago I posted a one-star review about the oven and their deli being broken since December 20th. I believe Vons management to be inept and uncaring, they can't even fix their own oven
As of 5 minutes ago the oven is still broke.
I received a bot generated apology regarding the oven situation and they assured me that it would be taken care of promptly.
Absolutely no concept of responsibility or customer service.

I've been using this Vons since 2009

I've been using this Vons since 2009, I'm a 62 senior, every time I go in I'm harassed the the manager, and his cronies, the guy in produce, the meat manager, the guy who stocks the liquor and another guy who stocks. Every time I look up they are watching me with glares and stares, I have no idea why they are this way to me. So if this is happening to you, your not alone.

VONS SHOWS BLATENT DISCRIMINATION!!!…

I am sick and tired of the VONS CORPORATION showing blatent DISCRIMINATION against certain shoppers. The "CYBER" sales only pertaining to those that only order "online", then must pick up the order or PAY to have it delivered. I refuse to be discriminated against because I do not trust anyone to pick anything that MY MONEY is paying for. Dear VONS since I am at the store anyway, why is it I am being discriminated against and can't choose my own groceries and get the discount...that is DISCRIMINATION!!!! Fair warning!!! This CRAP stops or i will file a discrimination law suit. Stop GOING WOKE. ANY COUPON should be allowed to be used whether I do it online or physically come in and shop. Elderly people don't give a crap about anything cyber and therefore you are targeting discrimination against the elderly.

My order was two 24 packs of Glacier water, 24lb butterball turkey, 5 cans corn, 5 cans green beans and one pouch of Mash potatoes. Even though I put ONLY IN STOCK, I did not get turkey, it was out of stock then instead of two cases of 24 bottles of Geiser water I received 2 1 gallon bottles. All I got was the cans of corn, green beans and mash potatoes..yes they are going to refund me for the cases of water but The point is I wanted the turkey and waters delivered because I am 68 yrs. Old and can't carry heavy stuff and Thanksgiving is two days away. I am cancelling my subscription and even that, you have to wait for the whole year to go by because there are no refunds. Very disappointed.

Amazing customer service

I want to thank Mohammed for helping me today, I had a situation regarding delivery and needed his help to get in touch with my driver. Not only did he get in touch with my driver. He also helped me with a few items that they were out of and I have to say his customer service is amazing. I consider this above and beyond And I’ve been in the customer service industry for years.
