Disgraceful drivers and disgraceful customer support!

Several years ago, I recieved a Wacom Intuos Pen & Touch as a Christmas present from my wife. It was unusable; the touch function became erratic after a short while, or would stop functioning, or would randomly start clicking on the screen as I moved the pointer.

Wacom customer services were worse than useless at resolving. They kept suggesting I try it on another laptop (which I did, only to find exactly the same), then suggested I uninstall and re-install drivers, then try it on another laptop again. If it doesn't work on two different laptops, to my mind, the problem must lie elsewhere. However, they kept suggesting I do this. . . . EVERY time I contacted them!

After weeks of this and after I'd lost count of the amount of times I'd uninstalled and re-installed their poxy drivers, I started to get quite uptight with them. So, their (serious!) suggestion was I then try it on a third laptop. Who has 3 laptops kicking around?!?

In hindsight, I should have immediately returned the Intuos for a full refund, but, after all this messing around, I had missed my return window. Wacom had the cheek to tell me I could return it (at my cost) for a repair!

Luckily, it was bought from Amazon, who were a breath of fresh air after dealing with Wacom! Despite it being outside of the returns window, they were gracious enough to exchange it after I'd explained all the above.

The 2nd tablet worked well for a while (probably a month or so), then the drivers were updated online, then the same problems came back (do you start to spot the obvious root cause here?).

Several years on and with the latest drivers, I'm left with a terrible product that, more often than not, leaves me wanting to throw it against the wall in frustration. I rarely use it now, which has upset my wife who bought me this thoughtful present!

Think very carefully before purchasing any Wacom product. Search the reviews and you will find, for ALL their products, a great many negative reviews relating to their drivers and/or customer support.

If you must buy one, please buy from Amazon, as they help to make up for Wacom's atrocious customer support (in the early days, at least, then you're stuck). If you start finding intermittent problems, return it while you have the chance for a full refund, as you'll end up frustrated later down the line.

False representation

I just bought a Wacom Intois tablet and pencil set for my granddaughter’s Christmas present. It showed on the box and online advertising that three free software download would come with it. To my disbelief, when I brought it home, it only allowed two free software downloads, but keeping the same model number.

I could not find a direct customer service link to file a complaint. Since I bought it from Best Buy, I wrote to them. I don’t know if I will get a response. Now I can’t give my granddaughter her present on Christmas without resolution first.

Worst driver and cheap product

Worst driver and cheap product. Never again from these guys. Intuos s NCL-4100. DONT BUY IT, they won't help you if you do get in a bad spot with it, they ask you for 100 things from your pc until they actually tell you it's your fault.

Terrible Customer support

I had no problems until I purchased a new computer with the same operating system and used a backup that I had installed on my new computer (iMac). Everything worked perfectly except for my Cintiq. With multiple help issues with their support, I received really bad instructions and driver links that did not work. They are not up to date with their knowledge of operating systems, or anything about Macs.

Just bought a Wacom Intuos S

Just bought a Wacom Intuos S . looks like the worst decision I have made for a long time. I am trying to register the product and get the promised software for the product. Me and my very clued up daughter have been trying to get this sorted for over 3 hours now without any success even using the chat help totally useless support. Please do not fall in to the same trap and purchase one of their products.

So 5 days down the line and I had a 2. try , guess what ? All is working as promised , registration and software download are all working. The beginning was really frustrating but all is well for now and now I have to learn how to properly use this tablet.

Just absolutely abysmal support for…

Just absolutely abysmal support for Mac. I don't know about windows. No matter what version of the driver I Install on OSX yosemite it won't work. It worked on the OSX before Yosemite so why doesn't it just work?
It frankly ruined a very important piece of work because I couldn't use the hardware I'd paid for!
It's an absolute outrage that there isn't just some kind of instant webpage based support for troubleshooting a device and matching it to the right driver and software immediately like every other expensive hardware company does.

Wacom just lost a customer of 17 years

Like so many others having the same problem, my Cintiq Companion 2 screen went black. After speaking with customer service about the problem I was having I was quoted $840 to repair...This is a ridiculous amount of money to pay to fix a known design defect. I have been a customer of Wacom’s ever since the Graphire 2 came out. When I told customer service this is a known defect I was essentially told they do not care and to just pay them to fix it. Wacom will not stand behind their products and does not care about the customer once they get your money. Just google Cintiq Companion 2 black screen and you will see the results for yourself.
Do yourself a favor and stay far away from this company. Spent $1700 to essentially have a paperweight. I spent less than 100 hours using this product.

Just the power cord

Just the power cord
First of all if it's not a pen you can't find it. I just needed a simple cord and it took 3 days to find part of the cord just to pay $50 for it and turned out to only be half of the product because the picture didn't show the full thing. The descriptions made no sense so I had to rely on the picture. Not only did I pay 11 bucks for shipping but they want me to pay for shipping back 2. EBay is a much better platform for online purchases.

BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE
I bought a wacom companion 2 a year and half ago for $1623 and now it has stopped working. I went online to see if anyone else had this problem. Soooo many people have. And about the same time after buying it. I find that to be to much of a coincidence. And they want around $1000 to fix it when it's obviously their fault. Customer service sucks bad. Customer service is awful.
I love art but refuse to give them anymore money. Now looking for another powerful artist tablet.

Dreadful level of customer service

Failure of their system means I cannot download software which is included in the price of the product,
Impossible to register correctly on their site.
NO way of contacting support by email or other method where a paper trail can be kept.
Utterly atrocious level of service, It is quite clear the company DO NOT want contact from customers once you've paid for and taken away the product.

Unreliable products and absolutely no customer support. If it breaks forget any help or support.

I bought a Wacom Bamboo Ink stylus. It was OK when it worked. It's quite expensive but feels good in the hand with its triangular heavy body. It worked for 5 months and then started to lose connection repeatedly. Take the battery out. Put it back in. It will last for about 10 seconds before losing connection again. Now it has stopped working entirely. I've changed the batteries but nothing. The rubber coating on the body has also started to peel off. Hold down the top button. No lights. I've been trying to get hold of Wacom support for 6 days. I've opened 3 online queries. I've called tech support which tells you they're busy and they'll call back. Which they don't. I've done 3 live chats. They're in the US and say they can't help. I've spoken to them on Twitter. I use this for work so have just had to buy another stylus from a different company.

So I'd summarise that it's expensive, poor quality and technical support that is impossible to get hold of. I'd try something else. Wacom are appalling.

Did not respond to emails when they said they would. My device was not working (even though I bought it brand new) and, while they did respond to my initial email requesting an exchange, it ended up taking forever and going NOWHERE.

Their hardware might be nice, but the company has too many faults. Broken-out-of-the-box models, bad drivers/software, expensive prices, HORRIBLE customer service (at least in North America). There are plenty of better alternatives, don't waste your time with Wacom. I was seriously disappointed and frustrated over this experience.

Wacom is a very big scam

Wacom is a very big scam, I’ve purchased my cintiq 5 months ago and it stoped working just like that. So as a result i had to send my cintiq twice to fix problems, and yet i ended up with a completely different issue right after I recieved it for the second time. I’m really frustratied with their bad bad service.

Utterly disappointed..

Utterly disappointed... I bought my Cintiq pro 13 almost 8 months ago, from Norway because Here in Serbia the retail support is garbage, but non the less I was so exited even if it took my Yearly savings I was confident that wacom is guarantee for quality. and then all hell broke loose, the first was broken so I had to send it back to Norway, then the shipment and the customs cost was half of the price which is insane so I had to wait almost 6 months to finally get it, to only find out that if you do not own a mac you can not connect this thing to a new generation laptop... WHY? ARE WE NOT GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOUR PRODUCT just because we do not use MAC? there is literally not a single adapter in this country that can connect this thing an for it to actually work (video) so I have to order not one but two adapters just so it could work on HDMI, and oh boy they cost, the one that wacom recomanded costs 70$ and you can not simply order it from the site of the store cause they do not ship in europe, iinstead u order it from other resailler and then the shipment cost almost as the adapter itself, and bonus Customs says if you have the money to pay this little thing so pricey you can pay us almost the half price of it... so this cintiq cost me almost double the initial price, just because I am apparently not worthy of their expensive products just cause I do not use MAC... Thank you Wacom.

I own a Wacom Intuos 4 tablet for about 8 years. It works perfectly.

There were problems with USB ports - i just gave it to a local IT guy, he fixed the ports without any problems. I also broke my pen - and I'm glad that there's a possibility to buy the pen separately.

I'm a member of many digital paining groups, everyone recommends Wacom as a company that makes products for professionals, so I'm surprised with the overall rating. However, I never had any contact with the customer service - just emailed the support once (unfortunately, they didn't provide the right solution) however I was able to fix the problem myself - I found the proper drivers and everything works fine.

Wacom display issues nightmare

I have been having issues with my wacom Cintiq for weeks now. The display just stopped working out of nowhere, after only having bought a brand new machine 5 months ago. They sent me a refurbished machine that did not work from day one, and keep telling me that the issue is with my computer and/or adaptors...even though i have already have apple confirm it is NOT my computer, and tried my computer and adaptors all with other devices and there are no issues. I was asked to send a picture of the adaptor, which I did, and got a response saying I have the wrong adaptor and was sent a link...it was the same adaptor I had just sent a photo of. When I responded saying that is the same as the one I just sent a photo of, it was now a display card issue with my computer. I am starting to think they they are copying and pasting every other response.
