The best tablet for drawing
On Monday 3rd April 2023 I purchased a Wacom Intuos Bluetooth Tablet Small - Pistachio for $129 from Catch so I could draw, sketch, paint and edit with natural feel and movement, which helps me relax.
Product: Good, Installation: Impossible
Although I have downloaded all software requirments, created an account and registered my device, my wacom device is still not detected. This is very frustrating and a time wasting process with no end result. I have used this Wacom device on a previous laptop of mine and worked well, however, when trying to connect to my new laptop, the Wacom simply does not work. Additionally, the website and support is useless as it is repetitive and does not provide any adequate advice for my issue, instead it has made me download the drivers and register my device multiple times and has taken up a lot of my time.
I am not against this product as I know it is an exceptional product, but I am reviewing my current experience with Wacom and it is a 2/5 star.
The Wacom Intuos pro
The Wacom Intuos pro is the digital tablet that designed for professional artist and graphic designer. Wacom has long been a global industry leader in creative drawing tablets. Digital artists have gone as far as to say that Wacom is the best drawing tablet in its market. In this review I will you about the key feature, advantages, and disadvantages of The Wacom Intuos pro, and the final through on this device.
The Wacom Intuos pro comes with three different sizes are small, medium, and large. When unbox it you will find the tablet, the Wacom Pro Pen 2, a pen stand, four colored pen rings and a cable. The tablet is made of high-quality materials and the surface of it coated with the etched glass that make you feel smooth while using it. For the pen stand you can turn the bottom part of it there will be ten nibs for spare and have hold that use to replace the nibs.
The Pen is incredibly responsive, but it feels slightly too sensitive with the default settings. After setting up, it does provide a very natural feel when drawing concept designs, texture painting and sculpting, and it performed well in Photoshop, Painter, Mari, Maya and ZBrush. And you can also change the color of pen rings which have four color for you too choose.
And next there are the standout feature of this tablet is the customizable Express Keys and Touch Ring. Before use it, you need to install drivers and firmware updates for programmed the buttons. It has many functions such as panning, zooming, and changing brush size which can help you to work more easily.
For the performance and features, The Wacom Intuos pro features 8,192 levels of pressure sensitivity which give you natural and precise drawing experience. The product has high resolution make it ideal for making detail work. The tablet also comes with tilt recognition, allowing artists to create strokes with varying degrees of shading. This tablet also has a wireless by using Bluetooth. It compatible with both Mac and Window system.
The advantages of this have a lot. It is the excellent choice for the professional artist and the graphic designer because the device provides a natural and precise drawing experience, thanks to its high-pressure sensitivity and accuracy. It has buttons and touch ring which can help to improve the workflow efficiency. And the wireless function that give you more space while working.
The main point of the disadvantage is the price. The product is more expensive than other digital tablet in the market which may not be feasible for most of artists and designers. The button for turn it on is too easy for accidentally open that make it run out battery when use it. The pen stand also very heavy and most of feature of it too complex for the beginner.
Overall, The Wacom Intuos pro is a excellent tablet for those people who work in digital art and graphic because it made of high quality materials and have many function which help the artist to have workflow efficiency but for those beginner maybe it must take time for they to learn and the price of it quiet high.
Ordered a new £267 wacom tablet
Ordered a new £267 wacom tablet, it was delivered damaged, it looked used or as if customs had unpacked it and kicked it around like a football. Wacom customer services in usa were horrified, however nothing is being done or followed up. Im freelance and need to use this tablet. There seems no regard for any urgency to sort this out.
Absolute garbage drivers
Absolute garbage software. It basically NEVER works. My product is brand new, I have windows 10 and everything is constantly updated. The drivers just do NOT work for unknown reasons. I need this stuff for my job and it's incredibly frustrating. This company does not care about their products working properly and I will surely never buy from them again and neither should you.
Don't buy anything from Wacom. EVER.
Have been chasing them for literally years at this point. Original purchase was a Cintiq Companion - first gen. As is now well-known in VFX circles, that first generation had an incredibly poorly designed charging port that broke under normal use without fail. After chasing them around for months, they finally agreed to take it back and replace it with a second gen machine of the same type, which purportedly solved the charge port issue. That replacement lasted about a month before it also began failing to charge. Then the pandemic hit, during which nobody was fixing or doing much of anything. I was unable to pursue remedy during that time. Now I pick it up again and they tell me they are no longer making any version of the model and offered me a miserly 5% discount on the 'opportunity' to spend another 2K on their faulty products. So I am stuck with a $2,000 doorstop. To the misfortune of the pro vfx community and like-minded hobbyists, Wacom has a near-monopoly on these kind of pro-level pen tablets. There's a huge opportunity here for an honest company to create an equivalent product and completely crush Wacom. Here's hoping some major monitor manufacturer takes up the banner and puts a just and deserved end to these unprofessional fools.
Ordered and paid £3,749.98 for the top…
Ordered and paid £3,749.98 for the top of the range Wacom Cintiq Pro 27 and the order went from 'In Review' to 'In Process', but the money went back into my bank account. I contacted customer support and phoned them and went round and round in circles without anyone giving me an answer, to the point after 10 days (04/11/22 - 14/11/22) I told them to cancel the order as I wasn't prepared to be messed about any further. If you don't want to be left frustrated and wound up then don't have any dealings with Wacom Store UK.
Do not buy from wacom.
The prices are theft. Buying my Cintiq 16 was one of the biggest mistakes I've ever made. It had dead pixels out of the box (I later learned this is a common manufacturing error that they hadn't cared to fix) and it deteriorated from there. I sent it for repairs because they wouldn't offer a refund or replacement, and I had to constantly chase customer service who were incredibly ignorant, unsympathetic and impossible to get hold of most of the time, with a lot of my emails being ignored and all of my calls going straight to answer phone. It took 5 months of stressing and chasing before I got my tablet back and I was offered absolutely no compensation. Even with the repaired tablet my experience is completely frustrating and underwhelming, the software is constantly breaking halfway through use and I'm terrified of something going faulty again. I will never EVER buy from wacom again.
There are better more affordable alternatives.
I used to love Wacom. But the way they treat their community and influencers is horrible. Also, they are way overpriced. Their competitors offer more affordable solutions. Wacom is not the only name in the tablet and display industry. It is a shame that they are failing. It used to be such a good company.
Un-intuitive, bad SW and no proper user manual
I bought the 660 Intuous pro paper tablet for drawing and for converting hand writing to computer text, and I've never, ever encountered such un-intuitive software and cumbersome work process. Like: press EDIT on a document, but no editing is possible. If I add some more lines, a new document is created. If it's disconnected, I can still use it, but nothing's saved. If I enter a relevant file name on exported text, the exported file is empty. Exported computer text needs lots of editing, like the space at the end of any sentence like here .
Exported bitmap files have 72 ppi resolution!! Totally useless.
Why not just give us a copy-paste option for text so it can be pasted into any other application? I've wasted DAYS fighting this thing, trying not to fight. There is no decent comprehensive user manual to be found either. It must be THAT easy to out-compete Wacom with something better. I'm back to paper drawing and scanning, being in full control.
Appalling Company
Shockingly bad company with a horrible attitude to customers. I have had TWO tablets break about 6 months after warranty. They do not help you and insist you have to buy another one. The quicker they are shut down the better.
Customer service is appalling
Customer service is appalling. They use an email system rather than a ticket system. Somehow they repaired my device to be completely incompatible with my home network when it wasn't before. They only respond to cases once a day and because they go through generic fixes before listening to the problem, it can be a week to just start a repair process.
I just don't get it
I'm not one to leave bad reviews normally but it's so strange to me that I am being told to upgrade my tablet or use an older OS (?) because Wacom does not make drivers anymore. The latest driver is MacOS 10.15, but back when I had OS 10.15, the driver was still on IOS 10.11, and it's been like this for years. It's bizarre. Why would I throw away a tablet that cost me a lot of money while it still works fine? To offer workable drivers is the minimum amount of service you should offer as a tablet company.
Btw: also strange that you need to wait in queue for live chat session for a long time, but then they disconnect with you after you are idle for a few minutes. I have no words.. Just do better.
Ive lost my trust to wacom and it was…
Ive lost my trust to wacom and it was my last purchase from them. They are using UPS for the delivery and it goes back and forth for days changing status for being delivered next day and then delay again. Customer service is appaling for both, they are trying to make sure 'you didnt miss the parcel' and advice to wait as they wont be able to process the refund claim if they dont know where is the parcel. Pretty sure they are cooperating here.
Its unbelievable that as serious company as them have such pathetic customer service and cant afford solid delivering company. My last time with them.
Disappointed
DON'T BUY!
Bought an Intuos tablet, and it arrived insanely fast, stoked with the product. However later I struggled for over an hour trying to set it up after it wouldn't click, eventually, I exchanged. Mistakes happen no big deal. The second time it arrived I was super hyped, set it up in 15 minutes immediately drew some stuff (on krita) it worked!
The next day I tried to use it. BAM! Same problem as before not clicking. :/
Had several of these unit break after 1…
Had several of these unit break after 1 year. They told me they knew there was an issue with the boards overheating and perminatly damaging the boards but continued to sell to customers. Then charge over 1,000$ to repair it and have it fail again after a year. Beware!!!!!
Worst Customer Experience
Cintiq Pro 24 starting having blotches under the glass in less than a year of use. Arranged a repair and replace and had to pay for the Canada -> US shipping.
I moved home between starting the RMA and shipping it. I put the new address with the tablet and checked to see the RMA said "Wacom will contact you to confirm return address".
Beyond that, I didn't hear anything from Wacom about it arriving, the status, repairs needed, etc. Nothing. It took me emailing to ask what's up to hear "it arrived, please wait 10-15 business days".
I waited. I waited. And I waited. At one point I got a UPS call asking about my old address and if I moved. I confirmed and they hung up. It was the same day as another delivery so I didn't think much of it.
After waiting 14 days I emailed Wacom again to ask what's up. They told me it shipped out on THE SAME DAY they emailed me last to tell me to wait. It had been sitting at a UPS depot for a full week. UPS tried to contact Wacom twice for an updated address and they didn't comply.
They didn't tell me, didn't give me a tracking number, didn't email or call to get a new address. Working with UPS to try and resolve the issue, Wacom had put a restriction on it that it had to be shipped back to the US before it could be reshipped. My new address was 10 mins away.
After getting the tracking number from Wacom (another call in a long list of calls..), I was able to pick up the tablet from the UPS Depot. The tablet was not the same one I sent but a totally different refurbished Pro 24. Guess what? It didn't turn on. Nothing. No power response. I tried the old plug, the new plug, different outlets and the advice from Wacom.
Calling Wacom again to ask what I could do and express the lack of communications, the costs, the breaking, the faulty replacement, the best they could offer was "we can pay for you to return that one to us and then when we receive it we'll send you another one". What, will that one be broken too? At least they're paying for shipping this time even if I have to figure out how to get the tablet to another UPS store.
After re-explaining again and asking for a customer service supervisor, they offered an advanced exchange. They send me a new one, I test it, if it works I send this other broken one back.
The cost here to my wallet, my time, and the impact it's had on my lack of ability to effectively get work done is crazy. I'd heard getting RMA with them was bad but I never expected it to be this bad. At this point I don't know if I should keep the replacement when it arrives after MORE TIME, sell it for a competitor brand or if it's broken again outright demand compensation for the time lost. It's already caused me enough havoc and it isn't even a year old.
What a joke this has been. You might have the biggest name in the business, Wacom, but your name is forever tarnished with me and my circles from here on out. Be better or your competitors will do it for you.
Wacom One tablet - refused repair under warranty, extremely rude customer service representatives
Purchased a Wacom One Tablet, December 2021. It has a years warranty, which covers repairs except pen nibs, etc. Nowhere does it say that it doesn't cover damage.
It does say it will not cover misuse, which does not apply here.
Two days ago I noticed that the casing around my right tablet leg had worn away and it would go longer stand.
I use the tablet normally, for drawing, and have always been careful when putting the legs down and storing to one side.
I contacted Wacom, who repeatedly refused to honour the warranty referring to wording that is not actually in the policy document.
They then rudely accused me of purposely breaking the tablet myself.
I have never dealt with such an awful company and careless customer service.
When they are not defective, Wacom tablets are great, but their customer service if something goes wrong is so bad, and they are so rude, that it has put me off ever purchasing from them again.
If you do want to still purchase - use Amazon, who helped me out despite it being Wacom's primary responsibility.
Received a brand new Intuos Pro tablet…
Received a brand new Intuos Pro tablet and guess what, the connection cable that came in the box is basically an Apple cable so I can't even use the tablet. I don't understand how that could've happened.
