Customer service needs proactive approach regarding returned goods.

In the Andover store I bought a bottle of wine. When it was opened it had a strong smell of a hospital ward. I poured three glasses and we tasted it and this was enough. I returned a half bottle, explained the above. The woman on customer service took out the cork and smelled the wine, looked at the level and said suspiciously: there's quite a lot of it gone though. I explained the wine had been thrown and said I didn't need comments like that in that manner and asked for the refund. It was the suspicious manner she used that was annoying. She called a manager who began the same dialogue. I said I wanted a refund which they gave. As regular Waitrose customers we rarely return goods as our opinion of the partnership is generally favourable. However on this occasion it isn't.

Stole my Amex points

I paid for my shopping using my Amex points, which Waitrose took. Then, I noticed on bank statement that I had been charged again for the same shop and it had come out of my account. Rang customer services, and they won't refund me. Thank you so much for stealing my hard earned cash!

I found a foreign object in a Waitrose…

I found a foreign object in a Waitrose Stone Baked Pepperoni Pizza, which was extremely upsetting and concerning, especially as this was food purchased for my family.

Waitrose investigated and told me the object was believed to be carbonised/burnt dough, but also confirmed it had originated during the manufacturing process and had not been picked up by their usual quality checks. I was offered a £30 e-gift card as a refund/goodwill gesture.

I do not feel reassured by the response, particularly given the size and appearance of what I found. I am sharing this so other customers are aware and can check products carefully before serving them.

Can't upload photo, definitely it wasn't a burned dough.
Now can't even think of eating pizza again unless I bake it myself.

Both husband and I were poorly after eating seabass, Waitrose attitude is there is nothing I could have done to prove it was the seabass and are refusing to compensate for the time off sick other than a pitiful 20.00 gesture of goodwill

ScanPayGo very poor

Every time I use ScanPayGo, I’m prompted to call an attendant to check my shopping. This happens consistently and gives a strong impression of mistrust, which undermines the whole point of a “quick and convenient” service.

Today’s experience was particularly poor. I used the Waitrose App to purchase just two bunches of flowers in St Albans. At checkout, the App froze unless I connected to the store’s WiFi. After switching, I was again prompted for an attendant check. Once that was completed, the app froze again and then crashed entirely. None of the staff were able to assist or resolve the issue.

In the end, I had to abandon the App and start over using the self-checkout, scanning the two items manually. What was a 2 minute shopping and should have taken just a minute to pay for them, took 14 minutes just at the checkout. This is unreasonable.

This level of friction, combined with repeated checks and unreliable technology, defeats the purpose of the system. It would be helpful to understand whether this repeated flagging is intentional, and what steps are being taken to improve reliability.

Absolutely discutsted in waitrose…

Absolutely discutsted in waitrose hampton. Saw a video today of someone going to the bins outside at night to find they have destroyed the food and put soil all over it so nobody can claim it there are family's struggling homeless people and food waste hero's everywhere. There's the hub down the road who give food by donation to those who cannot afford it. There's olio someone can collect last thing before they closed but they waste their time and effort doing that! Absolutely vile humans if i worked there i would report it but obviously the staff there do not care about people who cant afford to eat or food wasteage. I will not be buying form there until this changes. The hub recieves from retailers like Greg's, marks and Spencer, Amazon foods and many more. Waitrose clearly thinks it's too good to care about people or this planet. In my opinion the food isn't any better than any other store and sold at extortionate prices. Some staff are outright rude, and clearly have no conscience. Please address these concerns I will be writing a complaint and people in hampton are not happy at all with this information

There is an extremely damaged UK flag hanging from a flagpole at the Gerrards Cross Waitrose. It has been flying for several months and has neither been taken down or replaced. I understand from talking to staff that management are aware of this but there is no plan to do either of these actions. Please sort this out.

Terrible customer service

I normally buy another brand but for the first time I bought a Waitrose own brand dishwasher cleaner- it stained the shelves/baskets blue.
My complaint was basically written off.
I have never once in the many years of having dishwashers, ever had any problems with products used in the dishwasher until now.
I was advised by customer service not to use my dishwasher until they had investigated. I had no use of my dishwasher for five days. Investigation was useless. In fact one customer service agent just googled my issue and told me what google said.
They told me I could use vinegar in the dishwasher to remove stains , but they clearly stated that if I did what they suggested it would be at my own risk.
I did not use vinegar as the manufacturer clearly states not to use vinegar as the acid damages the machine.

Very poor customer service.

Ordering a wedding cake was simple and easy. Arrived well packed and protected. As it was a wedding cake the manager of the store kindly gave us a bottle of champagne as well for the couple to celebrate with. Easy to do; great service; went above and beyond; personal message from the cake maker; great quality at a decent price. Highly recommended

This was such a disappointing and frustrating experience . Everything about it was below standard , and as a company they should hold their head in shame . Brought the wrong , I ordered my item in bulk and they were 13 packets short , OF THE WRONG ITEM . Then had the cheek to charge me for delivery . Disgusting . Although the DRIVER WAS AMAZING AND HELPFUL . What a total waste of time and effort . One star is a compliment they don’t deserve

The "organic" Meat is Sh*t

The "organic" Meat is Sh*t. It tastes of nothing and the processed versions are full of junk. I will be buying meat from a local meat farm from now on, and there much cheaper. Truth is all waitrose food is a bit weired when it comes to taste and strange ingredients.
The wifes choice NOT MINE.

Poor, rude service. Chaotic, uniformed junior staff.

Nice food, if expensive, but Waitrose, certainly in Windsor, is absolutely not set up for click and collect food orders. Staff below manager are uninformed, unhelpful, and actually rude: I don’t appreciate being called “mate” when they’re telling me that they have no idea how to refund a substitution after dumping crates in front of me with no paperwork and then leaving me to it. Chaotic and time consuming - would have been easier and quicker to just go shopping.
