If I could give a zero rating I would do. My order arrived damaged with plants and compost all over the place this was a month ago. My husband put the plants back together but they have all suffered badly and are not coming to much. Very disappointed as thought Waitrose would be a trustworthy supplier. Will not be ordering from them again.

Poor plant quality and poor customer service

Two of the three plants were of poor quality and I emailed for a refund. Customer service dismissed my concerns and said the plants were of a good quality. Images of what plants you will actually receive are misleading. Overpriced. Thought Waitrose prided themselves on good customer service...awful. Wasted my money, won't buy from them again. Wished I'd read reviews first!

Poor delivery

I paid extra for a plant to be delivered on a named day. Plant did not arrive, particularly as I booked a gardener to plant it. My first order and my last

Would not recommend!!

Would not recommend!!! I have ordered a hydrangea plant. It arrived and the plant was very poor quality, thin and it had only a few leaves. When I complained to the CS, they offered a refund strait away. They were not honest when I asked to send a healthy plant, saying it’s out of stock. However, the webpage and help line advised me opposite, they had a new stock. Poor service waitrosegarden !

Very poor quality plants

Very poor quality, yellowing plants delivered.
Customer services contacted and photos supplied. Waitrose claim that their ‘plant doctors’ consider the plants fine.
The RHS website for anemones states ‘ do not buy plants with yellowing leaves’, as they could have a viral disease.
I explained that I am unhappy with the quality but Waitrose won’t budge, only option is to send back at a cost of
£25 and loose that money!
Some items in the order didn’t come.

It seems from the reviews here that there is definitely a problem that is not being addressed.
My advice don’t buy plants online from Waitrose garden.
Very, very poor quality plants.

I would have probably given 0 stars if it was an option!
I bought over £100 of hardy geraniums and Hidcote lavenders. One set of hardy geraniums were OK but the other plants were minuscule. I sent about four Emails to “Customer Services” and apparently my one leafed hardy geranium and another geranium that had more weeds than geranium leaves were acceptable size and quality. I will never use Waitrose Garden again!

I paid £89 for a mature pittisborum

I paid £89 for a mature pittusborum bush. No photos were provided. The plant arrived 70cm as described but very spindly with yellowing leaves. I sent Waitrose a photo - they apologise for the condition of the plant. I ask to return it and was told by the customer services managed it would cost £25 to do so, which would be deducted from my refund. So I effectively stand to lose either £89 or £25 - one way or the other, for a pretty rubbish plant.

Ordered 6 pots of Cosmos

Ordered 6 pots of Cosmos. Received them in a terrible condition and had to dead head most of the plants. Plants were very thin and had an end of season look. Despite sending a picture to Waitrose they will not issue a credit. Keep away from this company!

Don't buy from WG! Expensive and poor

Small plants, poor condition, poor service. Website virtually non-functional. I tried to change my contact email address as the old one doesn't exist anymore and the website couldn't do it. 'Customer service' told me to wait until order arrives and then make new account! I had to phone and point out that I wouldn't know when the order will arrive as I can't change the email!

What has happened? Used to brillaint

Placed order on Sunday night, but in my error I hadn’t removed a plant. Contacted them to ask them to remove a plant, as I could cancel the order using the website. Order arrived yesterday, plants were half dead, loads of damage, full of weeds. Contacted them to complain about the really poor standard of the plants I received particularly the iris which was mainly a grass weed.

I got a reply today stating that they apologise that the replacements were in poor condition and if I want a refund I would have to pay £25 return. I am pretty sure that if an item is faulty the seller is responsible for returning the item.

I would not recommend making any purchase from them.

Very disappointing

Unbelievably bad service. Paid £150 for plants, which looked mostly dead on arrival. The refund process is not practical, asking to send plants back via courier (who does that?) or pay £25 for collection.

Do not use Waitrose garden for plants!

Oh deary me Waitrose

Oh deary me Waitrose. What oh what are you doing? Bought £150 worth of plant, and I might as well given the money to charity. Most plants are pathetic, barely any life left in them. Some seemed to have only last week germinated, and I feel so cheated. It’s the first and last time I buy any plants from you, and likely I’ll stop shopping other items in protest. You should be ashamed of cheating customers through using your, normally, good name. Awful!
To those reading - I wish I had read the reviews before buying. Go to your local garden centre, you’ll pay the same if not less for more.

The plants are overpriced and poor quality

The plants are vastly overpriced and the quality of some of them was disgusting/ dead. Some were beyond help only fit for the bin, some were alive but a bit scabby, what you would buy reduced in a local store.
After spending £272?you expect better.
Looking back at my account history the plants I brought in 2023 are all dead, the plants are guaranteed!
I should of known better. And learned from previous experience
Don't bother buying from a premium store where you expect better quality.
When the plants were delivered they were left on the doorstep, we were home nobody bothered to knock on the door.

My 600£ appeared to buy empty pots and twigs - really disappointed. Returned them Monday, no acknowledgment and no idea when / if I’ll be refunded. This is not a good outfit. Go to an actual garden centre to ensure you won’t be ripped off

Missing plant & hopeless customer service

The most expensive plant (£55) of my 2 plant order has gone missing (£78 in total) and Garden by Waitrose are not able to find out why. They have ordered a replacement but this is scheduled to take another 3-5 business days to arrive and they have refused several requests to refund my delivery charge for the inconvenience and poor service I'm experiencing. Totally shoddy service and I will never ever use them again. Wish i had read the poor reviews/ratings before.

Too much packaging

I bought some small plant pots which are absolutely fine, but the amount of packaging was completely over the top. They came buried inside an enormous box - it was so big I had to check with the delivery driver that it was actually my parcel and not someone else’s. I now have to dispose of this packaging, which will take me weeks because it won’t all fit in my recycling bin…. Never again.

No problems

I read the reviews on here before I purchased but decided to go ahead anyway because they had the best coir moss support pole I could find. I paid for named delivery. Turned up on the day and is exactly what I needed.
