CVS has better online experience

I switched from CVS to Walgreens a year ago because Walgreens is closer to my new home and I’ve had long wait times at CVS AND the costs at CVS are high.

However getting someone on the phone at the Walgreens pharmacy is close to impossible, I have had problems trying to refill prescriptions online which was easy with CVS. In fact, I put in for refills online which two prescriptions last week on the Walgreens app and they canceled them both! No phone call, no message through the app, nothing… when I went into Walgreens to figure out what happened they looked confused and had no explanation. I then had to wait almost 1.5 hours for them to be filled.

I worked for CVS over 20 years ago. Their motto was customer service first! We got bonuses for good reviews from customers. Seems like Walgreens simply don’t care.

Denied Refill on Day 29 ‘By Law’—That Law Doesn’t Exist

I had a frustrating experience with a Walgreens pharmacy location in Chicago that raised concerns about communication and consistency.

On March 19, I attempted to pick up a prescribed medication that I last filled on February 18 (day 29, just one day early). The pharmacy manager told me it could not be dispensed until March 20 “by law,” including a statement that this was due to February having 28 days. My understanding is that Illinois law does not require a strict 30-day wait for this type of medication, and that early fills by a day or two are commonly handled at the pharmacist’s discretion.

I explained that I had accidentally left my medication out of state while visiting my father, who has been in the ICU, and that missing a dose could impact my health. I was advised to go to the emergency room instead, which felt excessive and not a reasonable first-line solution.

The tone of the interaction felt dismissive and at times accusatory, and no practical alternatives were offered.

I’m sharing this because it points to a broader issue around how policies are communicated. I would appreciate clearer guidance and more patient-centered handling in situations like this.

So I have been using Walgreens virtual…

So I have been using Walgreens virtual healthcare for wegovy. They seem to be intent on charging me 49 once a month to refill a prescription. They wait approximately two weeks to answer a question and I am not pleased. That would be like your primary care doctor making you visit once a month to get a refill? Is this even legal to do!

Wallgreens in Clarksville Tennessee on…

Wallgreens in Clarksville Tennessee on tiny town road in Fort Campbell has the most rude disrespectful employees that I’ve ever seen in my life. They’re always messing up my prescriptions they always pull in my new prescriptions and leaving my all wants to expire and when I call and ask them about it, they’ll be really rude and nasty and no one cares because when I called to let someone know of the ladies action that I spoke with they backed her up when they heard everything she was saying so everyone’s attitude and there is the same. I am definitely not returning to this pharmacy and I definitely do not recommend anyone to go to this pharmacy. You’re gonna be waiting in the line for two hours for your prescription and you’re gonna be treated like crap if you ask any questions regarding your prescriptions that they don’t like they will be very rude that is not acceptable to treat people that’s already need a medication for whatever reasons that way is disgusting and sad and pathetic and should not be tolerated

No longer a fan, poor cx svc

Up until several days ago, I liked the Walgreens in Selma, CA. Despite their slow pharmacy, I appreciated being able to get in and out for regular store shopping. I appreciated their orange tax sales. However, three days ago, before I left the store I checked my receipt because I couldn't figure out why my total was so much. Then I realized I had been overcharged for the nuts that I thought were on sale. Someone possibly a customer put the tag over the nuts that I wanted. Since they weren't going to honor the price, I said to give me a refund.
She said I need an ID to make the return even though I hadn't left her sight. I only stepped aside from her register. That infuriated me because not only are you saying I can't have the product I want for the price semi advertised, but you're saying that I need to leave the store go across the street to where I'm charging my car, get my ID, and come back even though there's no way I could commit fraud. She is saying there's no way for her to go around that rule when the whole purpose of that rule is probably to prevent fraud, I'm guessing. I would not have been so pissed about the price tag being wrong if she hadn't made me leave the store to go get my ID. I was not responsible for that tag being in the wrong spot. I thought I had checked the tag like I typically do to make sure that a good thing that seems too be good to be true is or isn't. I made a mistake that day didn't take a picture so I can confirm. Instead of just giving me a break and either giving me the price that the tag said or letting me return the product without my ID they made me go through hoops.

Walgreens Policies are Awful

I was told that I could not return my faulty Walgreens product after 30 days. I was told this about a faulty heating pad.

Walgreens people were fine. The company and it’s policies are awful.

Poor Customer Service

They keep trying to refill a prescription that I have cancelled three times. 30 days ago I went to pick up my medication and only got a parcial fill. Now, I got a new prescription from my doctor, and they don't have any. I tried to call, but of course all their systems are down, when I explained to the staff member that I was out of medication because of them, so what should I do now she told me to call back in a couple of hours. When I go to pick up the prescriptions, you have to stand in line forever to get waited on. I have gotten to the point where I am just going to do mailorder. Their customer service is horrible.

At 6:16pm this evening

At 6:16pm this evening, I placed a call to Walgreens Pharmacy on the corner of Hwy 20 and 138 in Conyers Ga. Even though the pharmacy at that location closes at 7pm they kept picking up the phone and hanging up on me. I called a total of 7 times within that 45 minutes before they closed and was hung up on every time. Another issue with this location is that they have no manners. You'll be there waiting for your prescription and they will close the window without saying a word. I had to pull up their website to find out why. That's when I saw that they go to lunch at that time. They must have been too hungry to speak.

I called to ask where my prescriptions…

In Dickson, Tn
I called to ask where my prescriptions were at, bc they are suppose to be delivered. Zowie answered and said they were going to be delivered with the mail, I asked when were they picked up, so I knew when to expect them, she said she didn't know. I said do you not have a way to track them, she said "it's not my problem once they leave here" I said, "what, did you really just say that it's not your problem, these are prescriptions" she said "ya, it's not my problem." I was thrown way off with this response, her attitude is the worst I've dealt with in an extremely long time. So unbelievable

Avoid Walgreens Store #19339

Avoid Walgreens Store #19339. I purchased a defective Vanilla Gift Card for $56.95 cash on Sunday. The product is functionally broken (no ZIP registration feature as advertised) and the vendor support is a dead loop. I presented the receipt and activation slip to the Store Manager Kollen, explained the defect, and informed him I was down to my last funds. He refused a refund for a faulty financial product, citing 'final sale'—which is a violation of Consumer Protection Law.

Poor service. Incompetent.

They deserve absolutely NO STARS! Incompetence does not begin to describe these people including the pharmacist! My endodontist sent an escript over as soon as I sat in the chair my appointment lasted in total 3 hours. I get to Walgreens and they said it’s not ready. I asked why and they said that they overlooked it but give them 20 minutes. So, I did. I got back to the drive thru window and the technician , yours isn’t ready. Of course, I asked why. She tells me it got stuck in their system and she’s now entering everything. I told her that I’ll sit right here until it’s ready. She said that I can’t sit there if anyone comes behind me. I told her that I’m not moving until the my prescriptions are ready. They threatened to call the police. I said go ahead. Then the pharmacist comes over and says that things aren’t like they used to be it takes more than 2 hours to get prescriptions ready. I reminded her that it was over 3 hours and your staff said 20 minutes. She replies, Yeah, but it takes longer. I told her that I don’t want them. I’ll call my provider to let them know that you were incapable of filling and to send a competent functional pharmacy. So she offered to send my prescriptions to a different pharmacy. I left and did exactly that, my provider called my prescriptions to another pharmacy. As I arrived home about 5 minutes later, Walgreens sends me a text saying that my prescription is ready. Unbelievable! All I can say if You value competence and your time, go elsewhere.

Walgreens Plantation Sucks!

Most of the Walgreens in a 15-mile radius of this location have terrible reviews because as most people know Walgreens sucks. They are a lousy company with nothing but incompetence and laziness and absolutely zero customer service. That being said my last attempt was to try this location in Plantation, before I switch to another pharmacy which I am now doing. Well, this location sucks too and is no different than the rest. My very first day using them, and it was nothing but incompetence and ignorance. I switched to this ridiculous location a month ago and almost immediately the buffoons showed prescription out and delayed. How a pharmacy knows a month before refilling a prescription that they are already out and delayed is beyond me. That’s like knowing you’re going to be incompetent ahead of time. Then on fill day their useless automated system showed delayed never verified by doc office, even know it was called in weeks ago. Once that was resolved the buffoons went back to saying delayed again. This is the worst pharmacy doing business in America today. I would recommend NEVER using Walgreens. Maybe if they lose enough customers they will start to care. They not only lost my business in pharmacy, i will never use one of their stores again. It’s not like avoiding shopping there will be difficult, their prices are never good anyway. I only use it when I need something and they are the only stores close by. This is literally the worst company ive ever seen, from their useless website that does nothing to their completely useless mobile ap to their nonexistent customer service to their dysfunctional stores I’m surprised they are not out of business yet already. Every location has terrible reviews, never above a 2-star rating. So im not telling most people anything new, this review is for the people that don’t know who to use. Avoid these crooks, they overcharge and get NOTHING right!

Prescriptions filled but dispensing denied

Yesterday, I stopped by the drive up window as I always do to pick up my wife's monthly prescription. The pharmacy technician said it would be $13 and some change. I gave my Florida Drivers license, my credit card, and waited. The technician said that they could not release my wife's rx because my driver's license had expired. It is a valid state identification, issued by the free State of Florida. So, I went back today with my wife's driver license, her prescription card, and her medicare card in hand. They still would not let me pick up her rx. This company is stupid. Their employees are stupid. And, as I am a very old fellow, I have a very low tolerance for stupid. Have been a Walgreens customer for about 50 years now. Will be changing to one of the many competitors in the area today. They just lost my business, my wife's business, and my family's business and anyone else that I can come in contact with. Americans vote with their wallets.

Poor quality prescription labels

Walgreens has started using prescription labels with smaller print. This is problematic for seniors with less than perfect vision. I also makes it harder to call in refills. They used to have easy to read labels. This change can't save them any money.
