Review summary

Based on reviews, created with AI

Most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people were dissatisfied with the user experience, frequently encountering issues like terrible matchmaking with constant "uptiers" where they faced much stronger opponents. Customers also felt that the game's pricing and value for money were poor, often describing it as "pay to win" and criticizing the need to spend money to progress or acquire better vehicles. Some people also felt that the product's quality was ambiguous, with concerns about overpowered premium vehicles and perceived national bias in vehicle performance and game mechanics. However, a few other people also felt that the game was enjoyable and that many of the complaints stemmed from a "skill issue" or playing the wrong mode, highlighting that it is a free-to-play game with good graphics.

Please, Don't Play / Install this Crap.

Problems = Decompression + TERRIBLE Economy.

In the past, P2W was a thing, Now EVEN if you buy Premium time and vehicles you will still suffer from the economy and that's spending 100s of dollars on the game, Heck if you download the game with the intention of not spending money, EVEN IF YOU ARE GOOD AT IT, AT BEST YOU WILL GET ONE OF THOSE JETS / TANKS THAT THEY SHOW IN THEIR YT ADS, IT WILL TAKE YOU at least A YEAR PLAYING 15+ HOURS A WEEK
DONT INSTALL THIS GAME!

The game is pay to play

The game is pay to play. Count minimum 1000 hours to finish ONE tech tree ( not one nation, one tech threes, like only tanks or only ships). Without premium account its extremely hard not to loose money from playing even whith paying account the income is barely average and the grind still extreme.
The compagnie answers by insulting and threatening the player base, worthening things even more and censoring criticism or suggestions everywere they can. They have the lowest grades on most plateforms, but on th forum you'll just see very rare messages incensing them. After some protest a few month ago, they let us "choose" between less gains in battle or even longer grind than previously, and nothing else (loose - loose situation ) . Recent updates were aimed at augmenting their earning even more while managing to make every aspect of the game, even the most minor ones frustrating or unplayable.
You won't find anyone on this planet which unlocked full content. Its litterrally not possible, with the current economy its litterally a matter of centuries in game. Even the few content creators that have most vehicules got them directly as a gift, and they never unlocked parts, crew upgrades or camouflages on them.
The game is barely playable during the first hours and become exponentially grindy as its just a cash machine meant to frustrate and punish the players for not paying enought. Stay far from this hoax.

Don't go anywhere near this game

Don't go anywhere near this game. Gaijin will try to steal every cent you own with their greedy way of making you pay to play the game.

I have 5000 hours in this game and will not touch it again. EVER

Great aerial combat but with a greedy and disrespectful developer

I am a air realistic battle player since 2017 sep. I love to fly anything with a propeller. The game is great but the live service of the game is irritating to say the least.

Recently the game implemented in game currency reward nerf again. Which means players needs to repeatedly grind for currency even more in order to unlock the vehicle they desired. The time increase is astronomical. So the developers reverted the changes.

This event causes major outbreak among player base. Demonstrators Gaijin Entertainment’s complete disrespect towards players and their time.

Moneygrabber!!

Moneygrabber!!! Ingame economy is toxic! economy is also worsen by every update! research & grinding in the tech-trees is pure cancer!!
You need years to get trough all tech-trees, even with spending a lot of real-world money and premium account & vehicles!
Lootboxes, etc... it's a mess!

I have thousands of hours played and…

I have thousands of hours played and almost as much spent in dollars in the game.

I stopped playing over a year ago as the grind just became more and more prohibitive to the point you either need to have a serious gaming addiction, mental health disorder, or significant disposable income with nothing better to spend it on. Without this, you will progress at actual snail pace.

Despite the money and time I have invested, I still do not have even half the vehicles in the game, and grinding the new top tier vehicles especially in air battles just became unbearable due to power creep.

The in game economy is the worst and most frustrating of any game I have ever played.

Furthermore Gaijin has issued tone death gaslighting responses when players have finally complained and said enough is enough. When we have spent thousands of hours and almost as much money on the game, the last thing we need is to be patronised that we don’t understand how free to play games work.

New premium vehicles are the price of AAA games. Without these the game economy makes it basically unplayable unless you’re dropping nukes, which I often do, but still, I’m in a minority there.

At this point I almost feel scammed out of the game I used to love, and the money and time I spent on it.

Shame on Gaijin.

7 year veteran - opinion on the current situation and future worries

I have been playing this game for about 7-8 years now and got to say the spark of excitement and nuance is slowly vanishing. Part due to me having seen and experience everything and part due to the frustration Gaijin as a company is putting on us the players. The economy of the game has bottom noone ever expected while the grind has gotten longer with every new vehicle added. To have any chance of getting the "free" vehicles you will have to pay outrageous prices for the premiums. It is truly a shame that the game seems to die due to the greed of a company who clearly doesn't give a damn about the player. Everyone knows that a f2p has to get there money from somewhere but when people are leaving bc even after paying the grind is still unsatisfying, there is clearly a problem. You can only hope that the heads of gaijins development departments finally open their eyes and realise that this is simply not sustainable. If this is their choice, to milk the cow till it dries up you can only hope that they face some sort of legal trouble. They clearly don't deserve the attention and support we have given em along the years.

I have played for 500 hours.

I have played for 500 hours.

The game is no longer a game, it's a player wallet milking machine. It used to be fun sometimes, but now it's been overrun by the developer's unquenchable greed for more and more profit. Don't try it.

Warthunder

Warthunder, or more or less Gaijin Entertainment evolved into nothing more than a greedy Corporation, not only do they nerf progression in their Game Warthunder, no at the same time they try to gaslight people via Community Posts, while also promoting their top-tier Premium Vehicles, which are bought to skip the 1000+ hours grind to top tier. Ive spent those 1000+ Hours to grind out a single Tech Tree, that of the US and its not like i progressed and i got happier, no instead my repair bill is getting higher and higher while also at the same time earning less and less

Its simply the straw that broke the camels back

As of may 2023 the state of game are really hostile to new and old player because of how devs handle the economic changes, how tone deaf their response, and how contradictory their statement is. It is currently almost impossible to achieve significant progress without premium in this Free to Play game.
