Completely disgusting
Booked into Way2stay Krakow Old Town. The apartment was absolutely filthy and really smelly. After 5 minutes of being in the apartment we decided we could not stick the smell and dirt anymore so we left and booked into another hotel and requested a refund from Way2stay but we were told the apartment was cleaned that day (it had clearly not been cleaned for a long time, the smell was like nothing I had smelt in my life before & the windows were wide open when we arrived but that didn’t even clear the smell, coffee table was sticky, white stains all over the beds, coffee mugs were disgusting, etc), so they wouldn’t offer a refund. As I booked through booking.com I went to them for help but all they did was ask Way2stay for a refund for me, which they refused. So I paid almost £500 for this apartment and then had to pay a further £500 for the new cleaner hotel we had to book into.
Negligent. Burgled because they didn't secure the keys!
I booked through WayToStay to rent an apartment in Brussels from ApartmentsApart in November 2018. They FAILED to collect the key from previous renter and my family was robbed on our 2nd day. $1000s of jewelry, computers, phones, cash, passports. Police report was filed. We were assured in writing that we would be reimbursed by their insurance. I provided receipts and wrote to them month after month, years, and have received nothing!! I am now turning to social media. I guess legal action is next, once Covid permits me to travel from a continent away. What a horrid company!!! (BTW, we were there to commemorate the 100th anniversary of WWI and my family members fallen in Belgium's trenches.)

We strongly advise not to place any bookings with Waytostay without speaking to them first to get any sort of reassurance and guarantee.

I tried cancelling my booking for months, & got no response. I then get an email demanding the other half of payment to finalise. BEWARE. These people are crooks. I am in Australia & tried phoning their office - no luck.
Refund not provided and emails ignored
My booking with Waytostay for July 2020 was canceled back in June 2020 due to COVID and I am due a full refund. Waytostay originally told me a refund would not be provided until Sep 1st. This extended time period has come and passed and Waytostay refuse to provide any response to follow up emails on the matter. I still have not received my refund.

DO NOT USE!! I have been trying to get a refund for over three months due to a cancelled reservation. No response. I finally disputed on my credit card. I understand things may be slow, but a response would be nice. Also, when I booked luckily I had an email saying I would get 100% refund if I cancelled 30 days before. Of course now the policy is changed. Don't use this company at all.

Due to Covid 19 I cancelled my planned trip to Portugal with Waytostay months before we were due to travel in August. I tried ringing several times, trying different options on their automated answering system but could never get to speak to anyone, I e-mailed them to cancel as well. But I kept getting e-mails stating that the final payment was due. I replied time & time again. Out of frustration, I contacted the property agents in Portugal who acknowledged my cancellation & tried to contact Waytostay on my behalf, without any joy. I finally received an e-mail stating I had lost my £3700 deposit because I had not paid my balance on time. I am now having to seek legal advice to get my money back. Don't book with Waytostay.
After the perfect accommodation? book with Waytostay
I have travelled the globe for over 40 years. For the last 6 years I have chosen to book accommodation with Waytostay where they have apartments in the locations I am travelling. For several reasons.
Firstly - the are always there to help & not hard to get a person to talk to. They are constantly in touch with you & leave all the information for your arrival. I've never had any problems with check in.
I like the fact you can book with a part payment initially then pay remainder 4 weeks before travel.
The website has detailed descriptions of the properties & in my experience what you see on the website is what you get. In most cases even better when you arrive. They put you in touch with the owner's / hosts so you can communicate with them. It's not like other websites ( no names mentioned) where you book an apt, then arrive and you get something else. Waytostay is reliable. Helpful. Friendly & I have called them on occasions to get the most suitable places & areas to stay based on my needs. When you can talk to those that have lived in those areas, this is gold! Porto was a great example of this. All my needs were met as I had never been there before. Same with Barcelona. Tell them what your requirements.. busy, quiet, large , small, whatever it is, they will help you find the right place. What's not to love. Get on with if and use waytostay

Very easy to book through. We missed our flight so had to change the check in time, which was done without any issues. The rep we met was very nice and even helped us secure a table at a local restaurant. All in all a positive experience!

When the apartment I originally booked was damaged by water only 2 days before my trip was to begin, the staff at Waytostay immediately offered me alternatives. I was able to book the size apartment I had wanted, although I had to stay in another area of Barcelona. However, I found that area also was convenient and had some beautiful places.

I have used Way to Stay in Amsterdam and Paris. Their service is prompt, excellent, caring. I was able to find the answers to any questions on line and even able to speak to a real person when necessary. I appreciated the updates I received. I would definitely use them again.
