Beware company in liquidation
I have just seen on Companies House website that this company is in liquidation and owe money to the government.
We put our small seaside guest house up for sale in July last year and feel angry that we have wasted a year of our lives.
The salesman who visited seemed really nice, really had the gift of the gab.
You have to pay £495+vat when signing up.
The salesman took three photos on his phone while indoors with us and one outdoors that was all.
He advised that we had been trying to sell it too cheaply, that he could get us more and that it’s the buyer that pays the £20,000+vat commission.
We felt pressurised to sign the contract without reading, we were stupid enough to do so, after all he was a really nice man.
A few days later read the contract to find that we’re tied into the agreement for twelve months with them as sole agents. No mention of any cooling off period.
We have had not one viewing even though we have a really good, viable business with room for improvement in profit for the right person. We have been happy with the profit that we make.
Last month I sent a “signed for” letter as instructed to give notice. They said that they didn’t get it so I have sent another one, which they said they did get but can’t find. Anyway agree to end contract with us as long as we paid a further £900+vat of course. Really shocked that we have received no viewings and a crap service was very unhappy at having to pay anything. But I had missed clause 13 in the difficult to read contract which stated it. As a “gesture of goodwill “ this was reduced to £500+vat.
So really seriously consider if this is the agent for you before putting pen to paper.
Criminals.
These guys like alot of so called brokers are thieves and morally deficient.
The industry in the UK is unregulated and the door is open for all sorts to try their hand.
I am looking to purchase businesses here in the UK, T/o of at least £500,000 per year. Get in touch with me on facebook in first instance.
Brokers will take fees up front and try sell your business like they are selling a second hand car.
Theres some good brokers but they need to learn deal structures or they will go out of business.
Please do give me a message on facebook if I can be of assistance.

I wouldn’t give this any stars but to write this I have had to give it a 1 star..... what I want to know is why are there reviews for this business when it went to court in January if this year to “wind-up” and it was HMRC that took it to court !!! They owe lots of money to HMRC which proves that the charges they take isn’t properly declared !! I have had problems with this company and they are “bullies” AVOID and get several agents in and read their small print !!! Glad they’ve been struck off so now can’t rip anyone else off !!!
Hi,do not trust them
Hi,do not trust them.
They do not do anything for free!!
I had to pay £1140 for nothing. They did not sell my business.
I decided to sell my business. I signed contract with NBS. Before that i asked Mr P. Evans (who works for NBS) if i will close my business before it will be sold, should i pay anything. Answer was - no, you pay only a fee if we will sell a business - and in section 5 he wrote letters N/A.
Sad, it was my mistake.I trusted him. I did not have experience with a fraud or cheaters.
I had to close my business after four months. Before that i phoned to NBS and ask to reduce the price of my business. They told me -an agent will call you back- but it never happened. After closing my business I noticed them about it. After i received the bill. I phoned them and tried to find answers but what i heard was a laugh and the reminder to pay the amount shown on me bill.
- we do not do anything for free- said a manager.
Read contract!!!
Especially section 11,12 and 13.
I do not recommend this company.
Good luck
Compulsory liquidation
This company went into compulsory liquidation on 20th January 2020. Take a look at companies house website.

Just had a telephone call from a guy called CHRIS saying the contract still stands but I went totally NUTTS!!! to be honest as my contract says months notice before the six months as agreed with nothing to pay and he is saying it’s still a contract , I can’t believe, It the government has closed my shop along with others. I told him there’s a PANDEMIC ON , they haven’t sold the business , got no interest in it atall and less now so basically told him do what you like , you ve had £350 as agreed I even e mailed the contract across , I was told nothing More to pay unless they sold it ,

Update 2020
Update 2020: There was a winding up order for this company issued in the High Court on 20/01/2020.
Total Con, Avoid this company, cold callers will tell you they have buyers and can achieve top money for your business. However the reality is all lies to get you to signs a contract, they ask me to pay up front fee which I refused and they offer me 2nd option of £10000 commotion once sold and no sale no fee over 12 months ago. now they ask me £950.00 Plus VAT to cancel the contract which was hidden in there contract in words so it is easy to be missed, Stay away and DO NOT USE THEM

I’ve had great experience with National Bsuiness
I’ve had great experience with National Business, it is very user friendly and I received great customer service. Great administration, and received lot of enquiries for my coffee shop in Aberdeen. I also received great acceptable offers in just 2 weeks.
So I am giving 5 stars for National Business.
Law breaker
Cold called to offer to sell my business.
I am on TPS so they have broken the law by calling me. I have to wonder what other laws they ignore.
A one star score is way too high for these cowboys
I gave a score of 1 star because there wasn't anything lower possible to give. A score of minus 10 would be more accurate. We can't wait to get out of our contract with this company. They talk the talk but do not deliver. Our business has been on the market with them for 10 months without a single enquiry generated by them. We have had several people contact us directly having heard the business is for sale but had not been able to get any response from NBS so had eventually contacted us independently. When I spoke to Josh he said it was the individuals who didn't know how to apply properly. We have had absolutely no feedback from NBS in months. Would advise any one thinking of using this company to forget it. They will take your money then do nothing

Absolute bunch of liars
Absolute bunch of liars. Do not deal with this company. They are total con artists and try to intimidate you but don't fall for it. I've blocked them after they rang me from various mobiles and have reported them to the police after being harrassed.
Won’t stop harassing me
They keep cold calling me multiple times a day and have been for weeks. I tell them I’m not interested in selling my business and to stop ringing but they won’t stop harassing me
Cold calling and was very rude
Cold calling and was very rude when I said we weren't interested. Called himself Ben.

Was on the market for 12 months with another company with little interest. With National got a buyer within 3 months and completed last week. Excellent service but I think their extensive marketing was the key factor.
