Cordwainer Northampton -Avoid

Cordwainer Northampton -Avoid! Vile Doorstaff.

If it was possible to give a zero rating I would.

After frequenting a few times over the Christmas period for some drinks, I've never had such an awful experience.

We were served our last drinks of the evening and then approached by the door staff three minutes later and told to drink up and leave. My partner advised that we had 20 minutes to finish our drinks, upon which we were mocked and told to prove it.

If it is reasonable to take payment for a final drink, shouldn't it be reasonable to be advised of a time frame in which you should be expected to finish it and not be bullied by doorstaff after three minutes of purchase?

I left the building to wait outside and my partner and his friend went to seek advice from the bar over the doorstaff. They were told we were collectively not allowed back, in which one of the doorstaff laughed and me behind the glass doors, waved and mouthed 'bye bye'.

This is the second time this has happened, the first being when we were actually sat with someone respectable from McManus Pub Company who had to politely advise the same vile doorstaff that we should have a reasonable time to finish our drinks, or just not take payment for the final drinks at all and be advised the bar had closed.

If you have an area manager for this location, I would advise they visit and assess the employment of their doorstaff, who are self obesessed important bullies.

We had always avoided this location due to poor reviews but we decided to give it a go anyway. More fool us.

It could be lovely with such a diverse mix of customers with whom we had wonderful conversations and laughs. I hope we meet them another time in a friendlier place.

I know Weatherspoons is one of those…

I know Weatherspoons is one of those Marmite companies. Most of the bad is the personal politics of Tim Martin who for some reason seems he'll bent on destroying the companies reputation and market share. Meanwhile the beer and food, is good, cheap and reliable. He pays his UK taxes and suppliers.

If you have some spare time, research some of the other pub chains and see what they do.

Never again.

My wife and I visited The Perkin Warbeck in Taunton on Christmas Eve. The menu was filthy. The table and bar a little better. We ordered turkey only to be told they ran out over a week ago. We chose the chicken burger and a dessert. They brought the burger along with the dessert. It was a good job we did not order a starter otherwise we would have had to move to a bigger table, which might have been cleaner. The chicken was dry and by the time we had eaten it the ice cream on the dessert had melted.

Appalling Weatherspoons Attitude

I politely asked them Instagram why they advertise the Festive menu and at many different locations,it has been unavailable at all of them but still advertised on posters outside.

The answer I got on Instagram messenger was “Out of Stock ,Bugger Off”

Sure they will be happy but I will never set foot of one of there crappy pubs again!

I hope they go out of business

I visited the Arnold Machin Wetherspoon…

I visited the Arnold Machin Wetherspoon in Newcastle Staffs this morning (17/11/2024) and ordered a Freedom Breakfast with extra mushrooms. The young woman who took my order was friendly and helpful.

When my breakfast was delivered, I was informed there were no mushrooms and was offered extra bacon instead, which I accepted. However, the eggs were cold. I notified a waitress, who took my plate to resolve the issue.

Unfortunately, the manager brought the plate back and, with a dismissive attitude, asked, “What’s up with this breakfast?” I explained the eggs were cold. She then pointed out I had eaten part of the meal, to which I replied I was hungry. Without an apology, she left the plate and walked away.

Eventually, my eggs and replacement bacon arrived, but the delay and the manager’s poor attitude overshadowed the experience. While I understand the staff were busy, the situation could have been resolved much more effectively. I believe the manager would benefit from additional training to improve customer service skills.

Benjamin Huntsman Sheffield not a very…

BANKERS DRAFT Sheffield not a very nice place to go to be in standards have dropped went into to the disabled toilet at 2pm on Saturday afternoon 9th November 2024 i noticed rascist grafitti etched into the boxing in next to the toilet at 19.30pm still there and a lot of my afro caribbean friends were deeply offended as i was also, there is a regular check on the toilets and signed by members of staff how was this missed ? I repoted this to the shift manager and said she was aware of this and this was reported to the police and her attitude was so flippent if this is the case why wasn't this toilet closed off whilst this was dealt with 21st century and still having to deal with this abhorrent attitude towards racism when hard working people are spending there hard earned money and this is the respect we are receiving please investigate this as a matter of urgency .

Booking office edinburgh

Booking office edinburgh
Used the app to order food and drink about 14.10.
The food arrived about 14.25. No drink had arrived after i finished my meal. I showed one of the staff my order but it still took a further 15 minutes to get the drink (he did say sorry).
If you are on your own in a busy pub, using the app is the only way of holding your table. This is the second time this has occured recently.
The food is ordinary but reasonably priced, however, what is the point if the full order does not arrive?

The bottle kiln

Place, food, location are what you would expect! The low score is for the staffs attitude to the disabled facilities!! My wife, unfortunately, has to use a wheelchair. On entering she needed to use the facilities which are conveniently located near the entrance to the building. The door to the disabled toilets was open!!! We went in, she did her business and on leaving I made sure the door was closed. I was berated by a group of men using the window table. They moaned that I had locked the door.
After a little while I went to the bar to order drinks. I spoke with the bar staff, told them what happened, that there was urine all over the floor that my wife and I had to wade through to use the commode, and asked what is the point of having disabled facilities if it was just used as a downstairs toilet? They have a lift to take you to the regular ones upstairs!!!
I was told it would be taken up to a manager. In the approximately 2 hours we were there someone WALKED to the bar, got the key, opened the door and then walked back to give the key back, left the door OPEN, so all and sundry could use it. Staff must have passed the OPEN disabled toilet door a hundred times back and forth and IGNORED it.
It is DISABLED, not a downstairs facility!
Staff should ENFORCE the disabled part by making sure the door remains CLOSED, not left open for an easier life.

Visited the Great Western in New Street…

Visited the Great Western in New Street station on Tuesday 8th October at 1pm. Placed a food order at the bar for a Ham and Mushroom pizza and a small fish and chips. Advised by the barman that it would be a 15 minute wait. Fine. However the fish and chips arrived but no Pizza. After waiting a while I enquired where the pizza was. After a look of puzzlement from the waitress and her checking with the kitchen, she had delivered the pizza to the wrong table. By the time this was sorted out and I was still waiting to receive my food, my husband had eaten his fish and chips. Eventually, I received the pizza, which was nice, but it would have been much better if we could have eaten together and if an apology had been forthcoming.
I would also comment that the waitress when delivering the fish and chips stood fir at least 5 minutes with the plate in her hand whilst she had a good old chat to another customer and the food she was about to deliver was going cold.
Visited this establishment many times and on this occasion it was not at all busy, so no excuse for shoddy service. Will think twice before eating here again.

The Globe Hotel in Kings…

We stayed at The Globe Hotel in Kings Lynn. A little apprehensive as a Weatherspoons establishment but we were pleasantly surprised. Location was central, quality of room was excellent and the staff were really helpful. Easily comparable with Premier Inn standard, if not better. Will stay at a Weatherspoons hotel again. Great for a short break.

William Adams Gorleston ordered ham…

William Adams Gorleston ordered ham eggs and chips, the ham looked grey and eggs were hard, took it back to be told eggs were a preference , and all the ham was the same and they could not change the ham but would cook 2 new eggs, so i asked for money back and was told as it was a customer preference I could not , so i asked for a different meal, and was told i could not so i asked for the duty manager, she came and after a discussion i ordered new meal which i paid the difference . to be told this was a one time offer and I could not do it again, I thought if you were not happy with a meal in England you could get your money back if you did not eat it .

Just had the the most appalling…

Just had the the most appalling experience I’ve ever experienced, I took my friends to Weatherspoons the glasshouse Norwich whilst visiting from the new forest, one of whom is disabled and needs a working dog , we ordered and payed for our food and were seated only to be approached by a member of staff saying she could not able to bring her dog in , he was told about my friend’s disability and he took it upon himself to ask the manager who I understood to be someone called Claire where she confirmed we had to leave,my friend left the premises, once she left she had an epileptic fit on the street all caused by the way we were treated I’m disgusted and appalled I intend to take this further it’s discrimination of the worst kind

Would not give one star my daughter…

Would not give one star my daughter went to the Turls Green Bradford today beware of thieves, she takes a child with Autisism to Weatherspoons as he likes the Pitzas and his routine. She was targeted by a theif right in front of of the cctv camera. The person behind the bar was no help, as when she asked for cctv checking the staff member said it was blocked? The matter has been reported to the police and also lodge as a complaint keep your valuables close if you dare to venture here!
