Leaking Roof

Due to a leaky roof, I went online to find a roofer. Several came round but Weathersure seemed to make more effort but what didn’t realise was that I was being worked by a well-honed technique. He pulled up roof tiles, ridge tiles, he plucked out material and loudly stated what a ‘bodge’ any previous contractor may have done. Anyway this lasted over 2 visits when I was informed it was urgent. He quoted £6500 for a job I later discovered was under £2000. He gave me a form to sign which I noted offered a statutory 14 cooling off period. I signed but reflected over 2 days and decided I’d like to postpone although I was prepared to still consider them but I just wanted to consider. I had all sorts of veiled threats such as having to pay for materials ordered. Needless to say they were removed from my list of possible contractors. So if you decide to use them, get at least 2 other quotes and don’t fall for the constant chatter which has the effect of drowning out the actual issue at hand.
