Wells Fargo says they provide an extra day grace period should your account become overdrawn, however they will claim any deposit you make prior to the cut off time came too late. Luckily I had proof... See more

Working at Wells Fargo for eight years
Working at Wells Fargo for eight years, I’ve always defended them. Today I can no longer. Today, Wells fargo committed fraud and a robbery against me. I came to the positive check and on the receipt. It said it will be available the next day. I saw the money come out of my other account from where I wrote the check the next day. The website said it was part of my balance. But things just kept on bouncing when I came into the branch they said we will put a hold on your check for 15 days. I provided a documentation from their own company where it says it will be available in the next day. I provided the canceled check documentation showing it came out of their account. They will not remove the hold eight days later. I don’t have the money in my other account and then this account and I based on information they provide provided me that is definition of fraud coupled with theft. No wonder Wells fargo has a 1.2 stars.
Terrible customer service
Singed up and was approved for a credit card. Called to get some information about it. Was passed around to half a dozen people during two phone calls. I wish I had never applied with them. I will steer clear in the future. You should too.

Worst bank ever doesn't even warrant a star at all they allowed people to transfer money out of my account without my knowledge and refuse to give me the info on who did and tried to say it was me they have lost their minds legal action has been taken considering I was at work and have proof I was never on my phone for those timeframes I'm going tomorrow to take all my money out of this bank
Ai phone call. terrible

Frederick Street.
Showed up at 1130am to change beneficiary on accounts. Signed it. They closed at noon. Both employees were with clients until exactly noon on the dot. At 1205 told we would have to make an appointment and come back. Was told the bank was not allowed to do any transactions after noon by bank manager. Worst customer service as usual. Finally got a text message that we were removed from the wait list at 1215pm.

BILT changeover - check bank accounts for Wells Fargo continuing to extract payments
BILT used to have their credit card go through Wells Fargo (thankfully not anymore). So when they switched to the new tiered BILT credit card, my old BILT cart with Wells Fargo was canceled. Now tell me why Wells Fargo initiated monthly payment to themselves from my bank account for payment to my discontinued card??
Just noticed the other day that a monthly payment had been set up, which I NEVER authorized. Never in my life have I authorized automatic payments to any credit card company from my checking account (explicitly so this doesn't happen), but there it was.
Wells Fargo is THE shadiest bank out there. Just like when they created tons of accounts for people who had never authorized them, & then kept taking fees out of people's accounts without notifying them.
If you're still staying with this bank, good luck. Make sure you're monitoring all your bank's transactions.
Wells Fargo are thieves
This company is a bunch of thieves. I opened up a bank account exactly the way I was supposed to. I confirmed it to get the promotion of a $425 to open up a bank account. I met all the requirements and then they refused to give it to. You don’t use this bank. They’re a bunch of scumbags.
Valley City, ND branch
The employees at the Valley City, ND branch are incredibly nice but the supervisor, (Paul Hoglin), is condescending and arrogant. He talked down to one of the employees right in front of me and my husband and embarrassed her for absolutely no reason. He kept cutting her off when she was trying to help me and would lecture her about not referring me to a banker when I already declined. She was an absolute delight but he made the whole experience awful. He more than tripled the time I had to spend in there because he kept interrupting her just so he could put her down, even though she was doing an excellent job. I don’t know how that man ever became a supervisor. They should really look into how he treats his employees because it’s beyond appalling. Having to deal with him actually makes me want to avoid going in this bank. If it wasn’t for the other employees, I would switch banks but the tellers and bankers are so wonderful at this branch. Paul needs to go!
confusing and weird company
confusing and weird company. they allow refunds but decide whenever they feel like they will do a charge-back, they basically waste my time explaining me nothing I got my 600 and suddenly they all want my funds for this and for that and for that and for this…. Don’t try this nobody explains anything
Worst bank I have ever dealt with been…
Worst bank I have ever dealt with been with them 14 years had my identity stolen credit opened in my name bank accounts drained and they said that it was on me. Then customer support hung up on my face .
Financial gain over customer service
We have been a WF customer for over 30 years. Today I needed to order checks, they only have ONE design now, literally as dull as possible, and for 60 blank checks I pay $47 including $15 shipping. When most companies provide free shipping, the company that holds my finances for the last 30 years charges me, through a vendor, $15
We never had to pay extra for Standard checks, sad to see WF will do anything for financial gain, even to their own loyal customers.
Worst bank!
my account was recently frauded for $1500. I called Wells Fargo to report this, the person I spoke to told me it would take 10 days to resolve, it took milliseconds for them to release my money to a scammer. My account is overdrawn and I have transactions that will not be honored because of wells fargo's lack of urgency in solving this matter. God only knows the fees I will incur in returned transactions, the representative did not care. My day of banking with this worthless bank are over! 35 years of being a customer, never been overdrawn! I'm the one treated like a criminal....criminals get treated better. STAY AWAY FROM WELLS FARGO! WORST BANK AROUND!!! POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!
I have had the same accounts with them…
I have had the same accounts with them for 20+ years. They have changed the name of my account to a different type of account with not the same benefits i started with. They changed it with no notice and when asked they said it was on my electronic statement. which i have to log onto their website to see and am expected to read all of the fine print every month in case they decide to change anything. I am a single mother and feel targeted by them and punished because i do not have money like other people. I put money in every month but because it is not electronically put in there i get punished because it's in check form. It is not fair to punish the poor with extra fees for just having the account. My other account has an electronic deposit, but they do not care each account needs one apparently. Trying to get someone to help me is like pulling teeth i never overdraft, i never have bad checks, i m just punished for my job not having electronic deposit. They now have changed the amount in the account to stay above 1500$ instead of 500$ to save me from the monthly fee. There needs to be new regulations on banks.
If they had a 0 stars available I would…
If they had a 0 stars available I would use it . I have NEVER liked Wells Fargo bank . There's a reason they are few and far between compared to working banks. I had to get one for a settlement check. They posted the amount and then as soon as I put TRASH BANK as my nickname for the bank they sent me a returned check deposit . I ABSOLUTLY LOATHE THIS TRASH BANK.
Terrible communication and no transparency
Terrible communication and does not value customers. I applied for and was approved for the Wells Fargo active cash card, however when I received it I was unable to activate it. The customer service representative told me I needed to visit a branch to provide documents for proof of address and identity. This was already strange since no other credit cards had required this verification after approving my application and providing a card. I visited the bank and for an hour, I sat with a banker to fax the requested documents. Throughout this time we needed to call card services and answer identification questions. They assured me my card would activate and be usable after 24-48 hours. Well after my card should’ve been activated, I attempted using it at the grocery store only to have it declined. This time when I called, I was informed my account was scheduled to be closed permanently and there was nothing I could do about it. No details were provided other than it was flagged for fraudulent activity. I requested additional information on this and the next day received an email telling me the account will not close, it was temporarily restricted and I could call the card fraud number to resolve this. Unsurprisingly, they are inconsistent between what they tell me, because I call the number and am told the same thing as before, that my account is closing. A decision was made by who knows who resulting in my brand new credit account closing, no options available to me.
By this point I had spent hours trying to work with Wells Fargo on this simple task of activating and using the card. I did everything they asked and received nothing but more grief. Keep in mind, this is after they approved my application. Why approve and send out a credit card if there is no hope in ever using it? The worst part is, they do not communicate any of this unless you call them, and even then what they tell you is inconsistent. I will never consider Wells Fargo again as they do not value customer time or effort. It’s impossible to trust a company with no transparency whatsoever.
Edit: Called to get the timeline straight. My application was approved on 1/15 and the decision to block and close the account was made the next day. No notice of this was given, neither the banker nor service rep mentioned anything while we spent an hour trying to activate the card weeks later. This could not have been handled any worse than it was. Well done Wells Fargo
After 14 years as a Wells Fargo…
After 14 years as a Wells Fargo customer, this is how they treat people: they sue you.
I entered a debt consolidation program over a year ago and have made multiple good-faith efforts to resolve a relatively small debt. Wells Fargo has refused every offer, choosing litigation instead of working toward a reasonable solution.
Because of this, I was forced to open a new bank account, which costs money I shouldn’t have had to spend—especially as a veteran on a fixed income. Rather than making a deal or showing any flexibility, Wells Fargo would rather go after someone who’s trying to do the right thing.
This is bad business, and it aligns perfectly with the way this company is portrayed in the news. Loyalty means nothing here. Longevity means nothing. Compassion means nothing.
If you value fair treatment, transparency, or basic decency, look elsewhere.
Just wanted to rant a little how do you…
Just wanted to rant a little how do you offer a credit card to a person have them apply because every time I opened the app for my account which they have all my info it wanted me to apply then I not only get denied i get a hit on my credit score that's despicable this bank is a joke this isn't the first time I do not recommend this no good bank to anyone I will be changing banks by the end of the week if I could I would give-100 stars
