I am writing this in case Wera take notice
I am writing this in case Wera take notice of the bad press. I became worried on realising that there are no replies to the other bad reviews because I now have an issue with Wera and I have start to become concerned that I am going to have to do a charge-back on my credit card - like many here, the support looks pretty thin.
I checked out a Click-Torque A5 torque wrench at the Sandown toolfair because I have two larger ones and decided to buy the small one too. So paid the price and the salesman reach up to pick a sealed box and I put it in my bag whilst feeling good at now having a useful tool; and so when I arrived home and opened the box it was the A6 not the A5... yes, a number of expletives erupted.
Happy to a degree that I had asked them to mail the receipt because I was able to click on a link which said something like "Any problems, get in touch". So a reply appeared later saying "return it to us" with post details. Off the package went and a couple of days later was shown as delivered.
I had even fixed a covering letter in a "Documents enclosed" pouch to make it really easy for the goods-inwards to process it. A week later and no contact of any type. So I fired off a follow-up email and no reply. I sent a message from their website and no reply. And there are no telephone numbers on their website. So now I am really worried. This looks like it's going to be a fight and like many here, I am busy.
So google found a phone number and I talked to Kate. She asked me to prepare an email with all the details, including copies of emails, proof of deliver and so on. This has taken well over a day of my time now in the last week. It will be interesting if Kate replies. You never can tell.
Now it could be said that I should have checked the box when the salesman gave it to me. Yes, I wish...; and in reality we have to look after ourselves. But there again, isn't that the job of the salesman - to help the customer and not to make schoolboy errors like picking the wrong box? The problem is that after the purchase I was in "trust mode". I trusted the guy and then by the time you have paid for "the tool that was demonstrated" (not a different one), what could possibly go wrong...?
Well of course the star rating for this review is currently 4. It could become 5 if they get on and send me the correct wrench AND refund my postage. Or it could become a 1 star and I do a chargeback on my credit card and lose the postage.
What a fight though. So far my Wera tools are good.
Maybe I will have to find the CEO of the parent company in Germany and bend his ear about the Britich arm... oops, spelling... Now I have just realised a friend has a son who lives in Germany. I bet he knows how to use the "system" to find the CEO... That will be interesting.
Had the new multibit screw driver for a…
Had the new multibit screw driver for a week. Noticed on the first day the bits would just fall out. Looked and seemed because the plastic that holds them is flimsy and just not good quality. The tool feels cheap. Ended up dropping it 5ft and the thing exploded into pieces. Seems that inside holding the but is plastic and we know how that holds things. So the collar shattered and is basically unusable, I was thinking about maybe gluing it but there were tiny ball bearings that went flying just absolute garbage. First and last purchase thankfully it was only $40. I’m just buying snap on. Wera is garbage and after looking at the other reviews I’m not wrong.
Where quality, where good support?
So i bought older version Wera kk stubby and it was pretty bad. Magnet can't hold even smallest screws and ratchet was stopping in one direction in the other one was also working so so.
I ordered it trough Amazon but I decided to contact wera(not co.uk but main Wera contact channel), and they want me to literally send it to another country on me to fix or replace... Yea how about no. (i have attached link to 2 videos perfectly showing the issues so i was expecting at least shipping coverage)
Also they so far are silent after my follow-up up question.
I order thier newest stubby after that : ) its fine but it has questionable rotating ratchet cover design to be honest... at least magnet is working on it! I'm also in the middle of amazon replacement of v1 stubby. We will se if it's any better than first unit.
So from me -2 quality, -1 support and 2 for just ok 2025 version.
Order 2 hex screwdrivers diferent size
Order 2 hex screwdrivers diferent size. What came in? 2 Hex screwdrivers bought the same size. I made what is need to be done to return and made clear why. They charge me the return cost.
Zero response on customer service
Zero response on customer service, currently got 3 wera zyklop ratchet with broken direction lever/switch. Contacted wera uk for answer if they can supply repair parts or if their tools are "disposable" or non serviceable. No response.
Great tools, unresponsive customer service
The quality of their tools is generally very good, and I have many that I use on a regular basis.
However, the customer service is exceptionally unresponsive. It took about 2 weeks to get a warranty claim processed, but then I received the incorrect replacement tool in the mail. It's been almost 2 weeks since then that I've been trying to get this issue resolved. I've called, emailed, and left voicemails with no response.
They either do not check emails/voicemail, or they ignore them completely.
Part of the reason for buying premium-priced tools is the expectation that the customer will be able to get a tool replaced when they need it. Wera has fallen very short on that mark.
I do not think I would continue to reccomend Wera Tools to a friend or a coworker moving forward unless they restructure their customer service process.

Bought the 2023 advent calender and one of the smaller hex wrenches was jammed into the slot the wrong way, causing it to be bent/plastic deformed. Contacted Wera UK and was advised a couple of weeks for replacement whilst they got stock of item in - fair enough. A package arrived a few days later with a replacement wrench and stuffed full of bonus promo merch.
Looks like I'll be getting next years calender when the time comes.
Good quality tools
I'm shocked at the reviews for wera I use these tools everyday and there by far the best I've used.
Awful product and zero support - lifetime warranty my backside!
Awful product and zero response from Wera after numerous contacts.
Lifetime warranty isn't worth toffee - because it IS virtually impossible to get ANY support from Wera.
All their money clearly goes on fancy packaging and marketing campaigns because their support is non-existent. Their tools look good but break after less than 2 hrs of use - zyklop ratchet is utter garbage.
Try their website if you think you can get support from them, they don't ever respond.
It's already cost more in my time chasing after them that the broken tool is worth - and it wasn't cheap - and I've still not spoken to a human yet!
Just buy snap-on and steer clear of this rubbish product and appalling company.
QUALITY.
I honestly can’t believe the reviews on here, I’m a carpenter, I use many Wera tools, for me, they are the best I’ve used, precision, design, most importantly the strength, made to last, some people don’t know how to use tools properly, sorry, it’s true. WERA = QUALITY.
Superb customer service
There was a mix up with my purchase at the Goodwood Festival of Speed but Sarah Burton went above and beyond to rectify it. Very good service.
WERA Tools a let down tool company
I purchased a couple of sets of WERA Allen & Torx bits and purchased what I believed to be quality tools priced at over £40 per set instead of buying cheap Chinese made sets for only a few pounds, well what a fool I feel like, the set of Allen keys started to rust a few months later even though they were stored in my gun equipment chest of drawers (no moisture whatsoever and plus the other set of Wera Torx set was right next to it and they are completely fine). So I wrote this email to them;
"Hi there I purchased some Wera tools obviously believing that they are superior tools that I could pass down to my children. At £42.99 at Screwfix for a set of 9 Allen keys where you can buy Allen keys set's for £2 made in China you don't expect that they would rust?
I have never abused them and always looked after them wiping them down with a oily rag like I do with all my tool's. I'm not a professional but a competent home DIYer who purchases decent equipment to make sure that they last for years.
I kept these tools along with my Wera Torx set which is completely fine in my Gun Cleaning Cabinet along with my other tools and Gun Cleaning oils in my gun cleaning cabinet where there is for sure no way moisture or anything like that can get in.
Unlike my garage where most of my Teng mechanics equipment is stored but still I keep it fastidiously clean and tidy and never had any issues like this on any of my Teng Tools or other equipment. These tools aren't kept like that off my precious tools in my Gun Cleaning Cabinet.
I have attached photos of the rusted tools, please advise on how you are able to help me resolve this issue."
And their response was;
"Good morning,
Thanks for making contact. Rust is a contentious subject when it comes to the use of ferrous materials and is not necessarily a reflection of the quality of our product. Despite special corrosive resistant materials unfortunately in with the presence of moisture, the process of oxidisation will still ensue – and the formation of rust is at a point, unavoidable.
We appreciate this can be frustrating when preventative measures are taken, tools securely stored, and wiped and cleaned down, however, even the moisture formed by condensation in fluctuating temperatures can be enough to have an impact over time.
Rest assured, at this stage the surface rust you are seeing, although unsightly, is purely cosmetic and will not impact the integrity of the tool. Our initial suggestion is to clean the item with a soft wire wool and silicone lubricant such as WD40. Which is usually enough to do the trick."
Basically their products rust even though they have a protective barrier around them and they're supposed to be a premium product made in Germany, plus they even attempt to imply that they were stored in an inadequate environment? Which seems strange that nothing else has rusted even their Torx set which is kept exactly in the same place plus I have a lot of other carbon steel tools in the same place and I included pictures to them (it's a shame I couldn't add them here for you to see). What I was expecting them to do is replace it straight away and for them to take back the faulty product straight away.
Customer service to them is a joke I feel so let down by this brand and will never be purchasing any of their products again and seriously if you're thinking of purchasing a good quality product look elsewhere.
Bought a set of 165 IS PZ/S
Bought a set of 165 IS PZ/S, thin one snaps at first use. I sent two inquiries to Wera 10 days apart, to both of which I received no answer.
First and last Wera product, would not recommend.
Update. Sent another enquiry since I've been annoyed everytime I find a product and it fits my need, but it's a Wera product.
It landed on a seller in a different country who was very helpful, and he said he usually takes care of unhappy costumers himself, because wera doesn't.
Increasing with 1 star solely because of this interaction

Really poor finish on a £58 Wera Joker XXL Spanner. Customer service experience has been awful. They expect purchaser to return at their expense, even when photographs sent to them clearly show defect. Last Wera tool that I will purchase. Typical of foreign company with UK "distribution" centre.
Broken part replaced 11 years after original purchase
The latch on a metal case for a small 'Zyklop' socket set broke a few weeks ago. I've had the socket set since Sept 2011(!) Wera sent me a whole new case, free of charge. Great service.
Best customer service
My 8795A universal joint had one of the retaining screws fall out and disappear on me the last time I used it. I tried writing an email to Wera customer service (Germany) to see if maybe they had a spare screw, that I could buy for my universal joint. They replied within 2 days, and they were very helpful to come up with a solution. They ended up sending me a brand new universal joint, free of charge. I am so glad that I converted all my tools to Wera, knowing that a great company and customer service is behind their tools! Well done, not many companies treat their customers like this!
Simply the best
Great quality and thoughtfully designed tools. The annual advent calendar is especially good(albeit the 2022 one did not quite live up to the previous standard). I would recommend the brand to anyone looking for quality and longevity.
I am a professional engineer and…
I am a professional engineer and purchased the Joker 6000 combination ratchet spanner set. Not cheap but then again you normally pay for quality. So far I have sent one of the spanners back and am getting ready to send another back, in both cases the ratchet end has failed. Don't get me wrong, I sent the last one back and they exchanged without a problem that's not the issue. It's the quality of the product that I am questioning. I would not buy them again or recommend them to any of my colleagues.
Seriously nothing but hype
Seriously nothing but hype, total rip off at the prices they charge, got my pluming set at a Toolfair yesterday and paid £103 was gutted to find they sell online for less if not the same.
The set has one or two useful tools the rest is a waste.
Totaly ripped off and as this was my 1st purchase would never buy these overpriced tools again and certainly would not recommend.
You been warned ⚠️
Don't believe the hype
Don't believe the hype. Just bought two sets of screwdrivers. Initially thought they were great. Then on first real use of the VDE Turbo driver it fell out of my pocket whilst fitting a CCTV cam, dropped about 6ft and the end popped off. All gears etc still in place so popped the end back on and now it is stuck in 4x1 mode. emailed Wera 2 weeks ago to try and see if I could get it repaired and absolute silence. These handles are £60+ a pop and they are reliant on three little plastic clips to hold them together. Poor product design and poor non existent service
