Each step of the process I worked with professional staff that clearly answered questions, kept me informed and responded in a timely manner. They were positive and encouraging.
At first I was not happy with the help I was getting. When something was incorrect my contact was not very helpful and did not explain the process very clearly.
one Georgette Gallo got involved everything went smoothly from there on out.
A quality product was produced! Nicely laid out and very attractively done.
They are professional on many fronts while at the same time not being on top of their game when it comes to fulfilling the various packages I bought to promote my book.
I've used WestBow Press for five books now. For me it is a "no brainer." I supply the manuscript, and they do a superb job doing the interior layout (font, layout of such things as the table of contents and how each chapter appears, etc.) and the cover. The work is top notch quality and presents a completed book that I can be proud of.
It was great having Westbow Press, rather than myself, attending to the multitude of details necessary in publishing a book.
I like the product from the editorial team and the graphic designs.
I would give Westbow a 5 for all the people I dealt with when I had a concern or a problem. All were great.
I was probably the most temperamental person in the equation.
Being a first time author I was very insecure in finishing details.
However for pricing I would rate Westbow a 3. Not because of pricing. Firstly package pricing because of the hidden costs not fully discussed. The cost of the package should be all inclusive. Being told afterward that professional editing affects if Amazon, Indigo etc want to pick up your book.
Also being new I did not know what to price book at. I am not sure how current price will be received.
Overall a 4. Thanks for helping me get my first book published.
Cameron Adamson was a great help. Very nice & made things easier to understand from a consultant perspective.
First of all The Journal was handwritten and that is challenging. You all meticulously went through it typing it all out that is impressive. Job Well 👍. Llewellyn Wallace.
For a first-time publisher like me they were really helpful - and their pricing and after-the-sale support is terrific. Got first class service all the way through and is still continuing.
Communication seems to be a cross-company issue. I have consistently had questions that beg an answer and I have not been able to get them. I send emails that are unanswered or incompletely answered. I call the person who is supposed to be helping and after several days I still have not gotten a call back. It is very frustrating.
You end up working with about ten different people, some of whom do not communicate with one another. They can be difficult to contact, and they are not very attentive to detail. Overall, a very frustrating experience.
I had trouble with the pricing for the books as I am in Canada, there is considerable additional charges for delivery of the books.
I love westbow, they are very professional in every area.
However; i do feel that the new publishing prices are a little too high.
Also Authors discounts for purchasing books are not low enough. Under the new prices they are so high that the Arthor has to buy large quanities to get a resonable price, and that makes it harder on the Author to get sales, because the Author has to charge the audience such high prices.
But over all westbow press is a wonderful Publisher, they have did a great job on every book i have published with them
Once I got a better support person, things went well. It took a year, but the book is now finally published and it looks good, reads great.
Quite a bit has gone wrong - complicated process, forms that can't be easily completed. Reps don't call when requested so very difficult to work via just email with Westbow.
From start to finish the folks I talked to were always very helpful and encouraging. This was my first experience in publishing a book and they helped guide me in the process from breaking it into chapters to referencing source material. Thank you WestBow!
