Shocking experience, so many items of furniture damaged its ridiculous, after moving in the house and unpacking boxes we kept finding more breakages, so far a £1000 cabinet has a massive chunk out of the bottom, a sofa arm is ruined, the TV has a crack down the back of the plastic, we had wardrobes damaged when re assembled, the list goes on and on, when we called them and shared photos of the damages they said we were past the 7 day window ( PS by 1 day!!!) so it was no longer there issue. stay well clear......

We used West Country Movers for our recent move from one end of the country to the other and they couldn't have been more helpful. They were quick and clear with their communications. Matt and Perrin were our movers on the day and they were brilliant! Polite, professional and friendly, they worked quickly and handled everything with care. On the other side they asked where we wanted everything and reassembled/plumbed in appliances and furniture. Highly recommend them.

Had a pretty large house move that required moving, dismantle/reassembly, de-plumb and re-plumb services. West Country Movers were great! We had 3 guys with a van each, they were friendly and efficient and generally had great vibes. They handled everything with care and were extremely self-sufficient and placed everything in the correct rooms on arrival. Would recommend!

Would highly recommend. The 3 lads that arrived nice and early on my moving day were great! They worked really hard and were a pleasure to have around on what can be a very stressful day. They handled everything in my home with care and I enjoyed their cheeky banter which lightened the pressures of moving. They took furniture apart and reassembled at my new property and nothing seemed to much trouble. Would definitely use again if I ever decide to move! Thanks West Country movers job well done 👏

What an excellent company, I would happily recommend to anyone. Courteous, efficient and from the quotation visit through to the three day move there was a continuity in their communications. Over the three days, packing, loading and transferring to new home there was always at least one team member from the previous day ensuring a great mix of skills to provide the service they offer. Their quote was thorough and very reasonable in comparison to other companies and over the three days nothing was too much trouble or inconvenience. Wish they had been in the areas I have previously ministered in ~ as clergy we move more than some and this was certainly the best ever experiencce ~ Thank you.

Sophie came straight out to assess what we had to move on two different dates which gave us the confidence in the company to make the booking. I was first to move, to Northumberland, and travelled with Dillan and Matt. They were super efficient with the loading/unloading and great company on the journey. Many thanks, lads, what could have been quite stressful became an enjoyable experience.

We used this company a couple of years ago and found them ok, so approached them to do the same job in reverse, with the same amount of stuff, from London to Devon. Big mistake as it turns out.

They said they'd arrive at 11am. In fact they arrived 2.5 hours late, having slipped another job in before ours. That had knock-on consequences.

Then they refused to take everything in the van, despite the fact that they had moved the same contents 2 years before. Bafflingly, there was quite a lot of empty space left in the van. We were told there was a weight limit. It's doubtful our stuff exceeded it, but even if it had, there hadn't seemed to be that limit in operation two years previously when they had filled the van quite happily. What this meant was that quite a lot of stuff was left in London and we had to drive back up and back to retrieve the items that they did not take. There was also a sofa and fridge (which had been in the original shipment they moved) which we couldn't fit in the car and will now be consigned to the tip. We must take some responsibility for this muddle (though by no means all of it) because as well as telling them we'd used them before and wanted exactly the same things moving, and that it had all fitted into a Luton van, we also gave them a non-definitive list and it was this list they stuck to religiously, refusing to move what was not on it, with a lot of tooth sucking.

Because they were late arriving and because they got stuck in traffic, though we did not even though we drove the same journey, it became clear they were going to arrive after dark. Because there is no light in the shipping container they were offloading into, we asked them to delay unloading until the morning but they would not. They did not arrive until 10pm. They loaded things into the van in a totally disorganised and haphazard way, so that now we are left with the prospect of having to take everything out and re-load it again. They left an unprotected mattress on the floor of the container.

All in all, it was a stressful and poor service that left us with a lot of work to do ourselves. We've had a lot of removals over the years and this was almost the worst, coming in at second place after an experience in which an antique chair went missing which was later discovered, badly damaged and being used, in the remover's office. Needless to say, we won't be using West Country Movers again.

My experience started well with the sales process, but everything went downhill from there. I paid for both packing and moving, and unfortunately the packing was done with a lack of care that caused avoidable damage to several of my belongings.
The packers stacked saucers with nothing between them, placed a rare 1940s Bakelite phone into a box with no protection at all, and broke the lid of an antique coffee pot—without informing me at the time. Several other items, including old martini glasses, were also chipped or broken.
None of the boxes were properly labelled. Most were simply marked “lounge,” which meant that when I arrived at the new property, I had numerous boxes with no idea what was inside any of them.
Unpacking was chaotic, as if it were a race to finish as quickly as possible. At one point, Matt brought my garden rugs into the house and, when I explained they should go in the garden, he said he didn’t realise what they were—despite the fact that they were the ones who packed them, one item were even placed in my next‑door neighbour’s garden.
The team were clearly rushing to get the job done, which meant that I was having to go behind them to move things they had left in the wrong place. This added to the stress, especially as I was moving on my own.
To their credit, Kev was very helpful when they had difficulty getting my mattress up the stairs, and they did eventually resolve that issue—but ultimately this is what you expect from a paid service.
Aftersales initially said they would use my feedback for training purposes, and they sent me a link to replace the broken coffee pot lid, but the link didn’t work and now they are no longer responding to my emails. I suspect they may say I took too long to sort everything out, but moving alone has been extremely difficult and overwhelming.
Everything in this review is true to my experience: I feel that my belongings were treated carelessly, and while some items may not have been expensive, they were collected over many years and are value to me.

Can't recommend highly enough. We decided to move at very short notice. From first contact to the end of the move West Country Movers were superb. They came out and quoted, dropped tonnes of boxes off when agreed and on the day of the move they couldn't have been more efficient or friendly. The move, even in rather poor weather, was handled professionally and with good humour and we were in our new house, and mostly unpacked, by dinner time. We have moved many times in the past and this was far and away the best experience to date. Book with them, you wont' regret it.

What a great moving experience! WCM were helpful and super efficient from start to finish. The team, on the day, Jordan, Jake and Chris were great and made the whole thing straightforward, taking down and rebuilding furniture, and plumbing in washing machine. It was especially helpful having an all inclusive price with no hidden extras. I highly recommend this company.

The whole team were excellent from start to finish. The booking process was straightforward, and West Country were very accommodating of changing completion dates. On the day of packing, the team were incredibly efficient and explained everything really clearly. I was amazed that on the day of moving, everything was loaded in time, and then unloaded and rebuilt in time for bedtime. These guys are miracle workers! Thank you!

Would have been ok if they bother to respond for the third time of enquiry to a quote!?
Clearly more business than they can cope with? Or maybe just not interested if it does not suit them?
That attitude will see them go out of business eventually!

The whole experience from requesting a quote and having a visit from Sophie to assess what size Van was needed, went so smoothly. I can't praise West Country Movers enough! I had a few questions before the Move Day itself & Ricky was so understanding & keen to help on the phone. It felt like nothing was too much trouble - he said feel free to phone in with more questions right up until the Move, we're here to help!

On the day Jordan & Perrin arrived on time & were absolutely fantastic! Polite & friendly & professional & happy to follow through on all instructions - very much a 'Can Do' attitude which lasted the whole day! I'd requested that they assemble an Outdoor Storage Unit, & Sophie was happy to include this as an 'extra' - the speed at which Jordan assembled it was phenomenal! And the same goes for plumbing in the Washing Machine.
And before they left, they checked with me that all furniture etc was exactly where I wanted it. It was a pleasure to be dealing with such nice guys :)

Excellent service. We moved from Somerset to North Devon. Guys arrived on time and made the move so easy for us. Took over and packed the lorry up in no time. Unloaded in the same manner - nothing was too much trouble. Offered to move heavy items to suit before leaving. Friendly and efficient.

From the initial quote and visit i felt confident west country movers could do the job. Arrived on time 3 man crew were fantastic, very polite, happy and professional, easy to work with, nothing too much trouble would definitely use again and no hesitation to recommend. Jordan and J-J were perhaps the best removal men we've ever used. Punctual, hard working, efficient, skillful, willing and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We were particularly impressed by how carefully and well they wrapped all the individual items that needed protecting and all the help they gave us constructing difficult beds and working out the best place to put things. Thank you for making our move such a positive one!

A very honest,reliable and friendly company to deal with. They gave us a very fair quote, they moved our furniture with efficiency and good humour, and they took the stress out of moving. They are a family business. They certainly work hard for their money.

West Country movers were great, a simple and quick pre-move assessment appointment at a time that suited me followed by a quick and efficient move on move day. The three movers I had were professional and quick and couldn’t have been more helpful - they were absolute grafters and we’d never have managed without them.

From surveying what we wanted to move to the actual removal service itself was excellent. The two gentleman who moved us J&J were great, they were friendly, well organised and removed all the stress from the day itself. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this company to anyone and definitely would use them again if needed.
