I had a very disappointing experience ordering from Wested Leather Co as a US customer.

The product arrived damaged — the hat was smashed and the ribbon was hanging off — and the quality was far below expectations for the price.

The bigger issue, however, was customer service. After the order shipped, I received multiple emails from multiple email addresses from Wested using threatening and escalatory language regarding a ~$33 customs/tariff charge. The emails claimed that DHL would pursue legal action and that the shipment could be destroyed if payment was not made. This language did not align with either DHL’s actual policies or Wested Leather Co’s own published shipping terms.

Wested’s website states: “Once your order has been dispatched, the contract is considered fulfilled by Wested Leather Co Ltd.” Despite this, I continued to receive repeated, unnecessary emails from multiple addresses that felt intimidating and stressful.

To clarify the situation, I contacted DHL directly. DHL was professional and confirmed that they would not pursue legal action against a customer over a small customs fee. This confirmed that the claims made in Wested’s emails were misleading and inappropriate.

I ultimately received the product, but based on the product condition and the way this situation was handled, I would not recommend Wested Leather Co — especially for US or international customers. This was a routine shipping matter that was escalated unnecessarily and handled poorly.

Ive been looking for a vintage flying jacket for some time. Did all the research, but I have to honestly say go straight to Wested, you wont find better. On delivery I really wasnt expecting the quality, suppleness and fit of this jacket for the money. Certain heritage British brands would market this vintage brown jacket well north of a grand, but dont expect a compromise - there isnt any. On recent visit to the Strasbourg Xmas markets I can confirm its superbly warm, comfortable, a great fit, superb stitching and very durable zip. I aim to buy British, proud to say Wested do not disappoint. This jacket is crafted, not made. It looks amazing and I couldnt recommend Wested more.

The craftsmanship and quality of leather/suede that Wested put into their jackets is truly excellent. Before even examining a jacket the sheer weight of it in your hand tells you this is a quality product. So it really goes without saying that whatever jacket you buy it is great value for money.
My only advice when ordering is to take your time sizing a jacket and read the descriptions carefully because there are different styles and fits, or simply ask questions, you'll get a good answer. It's worth the effort because when you get the size exactly right any jacket feels like the best thing you have worn.

Initially I was looking for some high-quality boots.Having previously purchased the Indiana Jones jacket from Wested I knew the quality was there. I ordered some hand-made Indy style boots which were well priced. On receipt (speedy delivery) I found them to be too big. Wested made the return and replacement for a smaller size effortless. The quality of the boots far exceeded my expectations. No qualms ordering more quality goods from Wested Leather.

Ordered a hat and a shirt. Quality feels good, sizing was correct according to charts and measurements. Shipping was also fast. All in all a good experience.

Got the CUSTOM MADE Raiders jacket and cannot recommend highly enough. Tailored to perfection and the quality is incredibly high. The leather is so soft and combined with the satin lining it makes it the most comfortable jacket you’re likely to get.

I’ve been a Wested customer for years now. It started with the Indiana Jones collection, but now I have a few other jackets from Wested and I love them all.

The team put a lot of care and effort into their products, and it shows.

My latest purchase is my B3 Sheepskin, which is very warm and cozy, perfect for surviving British winter.

I would never consider purchasing a leather jacket from another supplier again. I know the quality I get from Wested, and I know I’ll be impressed every time.

I’ve ordered three different jackets from Wested over the last few years, an Indy Last Crusade Legacy jacket, an NV 47 B3 sheepskin and an RAF B3 sheepskin. All have been fantastic jackets and extremely well made. The only issue I had was the NV 47 style B3 (even though my measurements were correct based on the jacket size) was a bit snug for me in XXL. These may be cut a little slimmer but I’m not 100% sure. I replaced it with the RAF design B3 in XXL and it fits perfectly with plenty of room. Could not be happier with my experience.

Absolutely brilliant can't recommend enough. Received my custom Raiders Jacket in Brown horsehide the leather is stunning real quality hide the build quality is superb excellent value for money Iv owned jackets that cost three times as much and this is the best by far. Good communication with company an absolute pleasure. Thank you.

My wife ordered the Raider's Jacket for a birthday gift. We went for the custom fit version in the distressed leather, with an extra pocket, D rings and X stitching. Delivery was prompt and without a fuss (including the import duty to Ireland which I thought was going to be stressful). The jacket fits like a dream and looks the business. I'm no Indiana Jones (although I am an archaeologist), but this jacket will feature on every adventure going forward!

I bought a B3 Sheepskin in XL which fits me perfectly (5 ft 10, chest size 46) this size was recommended to me by their staff after I sent them my measurements and asked for a size recommendation.

The jacket is top quality, definitely an investment piece, but in the world of sheepskins was actually pretty affordable, so I would say Wested strike a good balance and provide excellent value for money.

Shipping was very fast.

I'd seen the company on the socials and was really excited to finally place an order but sadly my excitement was short lived. I found the cut and fit of the jacket very poor and as for the 'leather' I actually found myself questioning if indeed it was proper hide and not some kind of synthetic 'pleather'. It had no smell of leather and just didn't feel like leather. I returned for a refund which cost me over £20 to send adequately insured as to be honest I had little trust in the company given the experience. The company don't refund the outbound shipping so in total it cost me £30 to find out that this was an ill-fitting garment of poor quality with questionable material. Their return policy infringes consumer rights too. I am just relieved that I didn't buy a custom version of the jacket as I initially considered given I would have been at even greater loss if returned, which undoubtedly it would have been.

Ordered a custom-made Indy jacket and it only took 18 days to have it in hand. The heavy duty horsehide jacket weighs 4.3lbs and fit perfectly. Really exceeded my expectations and if you’re on the fence as to whether to buy or not….all I can say is that I’m glad I did.

I've ordered probably a half dozen jackets from Wested over the last 20+ years -- mostly trying and failing to replace my beloved Raiders "ROLA" model that I bought from Wested in the mid 2000s which somehow got lost when we moved many years ago. The standard cuts just weren't for me, a little too boxy. So I went with a 40" Raiders Legacy and can confirm they've absolutely nailed it with this new Legacy style. The leather is incredible -- it says its thicker than the standard lambskin but mine feels just as light if not slightly lighter than standard lamb. The smell is incredible. The tone is a slightly darker brown that's nicely understated, with minimal shine. Customer service was quick to answer my annoying questions as they always are. Brilliant work, and really appreciate the fast turnaround too!

I have been looking for a quality leather stockman coat for some time.....
This is an individually handmade coat which makes a great alternative to the many waxed cotton ones available.....
The attention to detail is superb, with stitching to a very high standard.....
Sizing is accurate and allows room for layers if desired.....
I am 6ft , 85 kg.....the size M fits well with room for a jacket or warm sweater. Pair up with leather boots and a fur lined hood for complete weather protection....

I watched Raiders of the Lost Ark for the first time when I was perhaps nine years old and, to put it mildly, became rather obsessed. I discovered that Wested made the official Indy jacket years later when I was a student, but never had the money or, by that point, the inclination, to buy one. But the idea never quite went away. Now, in my thirties and having just bought a house, I decided it was time to treat myself having recently rewatched some of the films (and eagerly awaiting the PS5 release of The Great Circle), so after much measuring of myself and contemplating whether I should risk a custom order in case it didn't fit right, I decided to order the standard Raiders jacket in size 40.

I really can't fault it. Apart from arriving only five days after I placed the order, the pre-distressed leather is absolutely beautiful and feels smooth but tough, slightly stiff but not enough to inhibit movement, and has a lovely leathery smell. The features are all there - heavy brass zip, two-way patch pockets with very positive poppers that will definitely keep valuables safe, and a decent-sized inside pocket. The hangar loop is a decent thickness and seems well sewn on, a particular irritation of mine being when the loop on a jacket breaks so you can't hang it easily without a hangar. The brass D-rings on the side lend it even more of a classic style. As my wife said, if I hadn't told her it was an Indy jacket she would have just thought it was a really nice classic leather jacket.

My advice for sizing is just to stick to the charts on the site and measure yourself carefully, or a jacket of similar shape that you know fits you. I'm about 180cm and average build, and the size 40 fits me perfectly in terms of sleeve length, overall length and chest, and zips up comfortably without restricting my movement. I measured my arms to make sure it seemed to match the chart on the site and it was dead on. I've been wearing it over a wool jumper most of the time as it's been chilly, and it fits well, but also fits with just a t-shirt. I'm not given to gushing, but having wanted an Indy jacket for about 25 years I really can't find anything about it that isn't how I imagined. If you've always wanted an Indy jacket then I can't imagine you'll be disappointed.
