If you want to do business DO NOT use…

If you want to do business DO NOT use Wastepac. Noone knows what they are doing, noone has any authority to get anything done. Its like a bunch of circus clowns juggling your calls to another person because they cant be bothered to help you. Worst customer service.

I have tried to contact westpac for…

I have tried to contact westpac for past 2 hours… (currently 8pm). It says online phone operators run from 8am-8pm but this is completely false.
I finally spoke to Damian. He managed to locate my 2485 dollars but then it disappeared immediately I believe he stole my money. This company is a fraudulent company, there is no way to contact a human that understands English.
I have had a mental breakdown and called an ambulance. I’ve lost nearly 27.5k banking with westpac.

instead of embarking on a futile battle…

instead of embarking on a futile battle to try & retrieve the scam credit card purchase i made i decided to try & appease the chimpanzees that had made a hostile takeover within the westpac banking institution by sending them a brand new bongo set to mindlessly bang on. I had it sent via couriers please & the tracking provided stated their will some delays with the delivery & it is expected to arrive at some stage after the sun combusts but before dark energy rips the universe apart. Hoping that when it does arrive the new hairy ape ceo will enjoy the gift & show mercy to me by refunded the cash owed

Unbelievable incompetence

It’s quite unbelievable that a bank and one of the major banks too can be as poorly run like a dark alley shop. Applied to replace my debit card and thus began a nightmare journey. Basically what went wrong
1) still can’t get my debit card after 3 weeks even after 4 calls to their help centres and 4 visits to their branch and followed all their instructions
2) apply new card but got back old card
3) the branch staffs gives wrong and contradictory information
4)the apps don’t allow proper change of address
5)very slow clearance of transfer of monies even within same account
6)very slow clearance of banks transfer
7)very hard to use apps despite touting as a best app
8)close your account without your instruction

This is a distant cry from my previous NAB bank which is one of the best bank ever encountered. Almost perfect in fact. Left NAB because the account security was compromised.

Anyway even some Westpac staffs are asking me to write letter of complaint. I got one better closing my account with Westpac.

I would give Westpac minus 100 if that…

I would give Westpac minus 100 if that was a thing, I will never bank with them again as long as I live, they don't give a crap about their clients, they don't listen to their clients and do what ever they want, they will tell you it's the system, if it was your system bthe process would be actually consistent, people are not stupid we know how systems work the kind of errors your system seem to make are human not system your system is only as good as the humans that control it and that says alot

WESTPAC👎🏻

The only bank and account I’ve had since I was 16 and I’m 53 years old now. After all these years I applied for a basic credit card and was refused instantly. They gave my credit history for a reason but that was a loud of …. I just got myself the latest phone from Telstra and if that was the case they surely would have denied it plus I am always on top of my bills and debts.

Absolutely stuff you around for credit card applications with no real updates.

much better interest rates for loans and accounts in general elsewhere

Disgusting attitude almost like they are irritating customers for sport. Seem to be asking so many questions to identify you, so they can say 'sorry, you couldn't answer that, you will need to go into a branch'. They play with you because they are nameless.

Westpac cannot keep its country list up…

Westpac cannot keep its country list up to date and want to know when you travel but then the country is not on the list. It is over 20yrs out of date. They have security tokens that have an expiry date on them and just stop working without warning. Then accuse you of being in a country that you are not in due to their incompetence.

I lost my customer number for the…

I lost my customer number for the banking app and it directed me to contact the call center because they can't link me up via the AI crap.

Except 5 calls later I can't get through to an actual person. Just spammed with links to login online with the details I don't have.

Losing the details is on me, but I don't appreciate them being impossible to contact in an emergency (although It would be nice to have access to my money, because it's kind of essential :/)

Westpac’s New “Saving Scheme” — Locking My Accounts Without Reason, or explanation or a resolution date.

Thank you, Westpac, for your innovative savings plan. By arbitrarily locking all my accounts without explanation, you’ve ensured my money piles up untouched. Otherwise, I might have wasted it on reckless luxuries like paying the gas bill or buying groceries.
Truly, Westpac is Helping Australians Succeed ( at involuntary budgeting).

World Wide Web Card Inoperable

Whilst overseas our World wide web card stopped working on line. We contacted the overseas number on two occasions however the first customer service team member never resolved our problem, the second time we were on the call for a considerable time when the line dropped out . We again called and lucky for us we reached Nathan. He was patient ,understanding, friendly and we got the feeling he understood our frustration
He gave the assistance we needed and said he would stay with us until we were satisfied the cards were working .
I really hope he is advised of our gratitude for him

Never would bank with again

Never would bank with again , each time I went to use my card it would decline and be locked I then would spend hours on the phone attempting to unlock my own money

This happened at least 15 times then I closed the account

Impossible to notify of lost card

Tried to notify of a lost card by phone. Dumped out of thir automated system 9 times over an hour including twice on hold on the promise of a person only for the call to terminate when it started to ring. Apparently you can notify of a lost card "excusively" online. A bit of a problem when you are not at home with your online banking details with you, or heaven forbid, don't online bank

Treated like I was a criminal by branch staff

Treated like I was a criminal for using a secure email address and also had my account locked for making a "suspicious" transaction (from my Westpac account to my partner's Westpac account...)

Finally was told my account was unlocked after having to go into a branch only to go home and find it wasn't which then required another meeting in the branch to resolve - though when I arrived in the branch, the staff had to call someone on the phone anyway to report the issue (so why did I have to go to the branch again?)

Terrible security at the time - they had a six-digit MAXIMUM allowable password length at the time and they were sneaky about it too, the website would let you save a longer password e.g. 20 characters and then when you entered that password it would log you in. I only discovered by an accidental test where I only entered the first six digits and it worked! So not only did they provide terrible security with such a short password but a FALSE sense of security given you thought you had a long good password. Thankfully they've since fixed this as far as I can tell.

2 star review because my experience has been slowly improving with them over time

Very bad experience with Westpac I lost…

Very bad experience with Westpac I lost my card on 29th July so I reported it lost through the app and and got a confirmation that it was on it way and my digital card would work which it did not! I went on chat today 2 weeks later to ask where my card was only to be told it had not been sent. Will be changing banks as this is unacceptable.

Terrible customer service

West pac id terrible with customer service. It is so hard to connect to their customer service, app or phone call it is just not connecting. Too many prompts, so hard to access!
So bad. I have waited on queue for 40 mins then as soon as someone answered, they can't hear me??? No one even tried to call you back after waiting for so long, so you basically have to call again and wait on queue.

Excellent & prompt service

I had an absolutely excellent experience with Westpac! I was initially dealing with a terrible mortgage broker who completely wasted my time, leaving me frustrated and uncertain about my next steps. When I reached out to Westpac to explain my situation, they immediately connected me with one of their managers—who went above and beyond to help.

Not only was the loan process handled with incredible efficiency, but the manager even worked after hours and on the weekend to ensure everything was done as quickly as possible. From start to finish, the entire process was completed in just two days!

This level of dedication and customer service was far beyond what I expected, and I genuinely appreciate the effort they put in to make things happen for me. I now have full confidence in Westpac and am seriously considering moving all my loans from CBA to them.

Highly recommend!
