Disappointing Service and Excessive Diagnostic Charges
I visited Hyundai in Colne today because my car had an orange engine warning light showing on the dashboard.
As I was taking my vehicle to an authorised Hyundai dealership, I expected the issue to be handled professionally and properly diagnosed, with clear communication throughout the process. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.
The dealership kept my car for around an hour to investigate the issue and charged me £150. After their initial inspection, they informed me that they had identified a problem, but said they would need a further two hours of diagnostic work at an additional cost of £300 before they could investigate it further and determine the required repair.
This would have meant paying a total of £450 purely for diagnostics, with no guarantee of a repair or a final resolution. In my view, this represents very poor value for customers. It felt as though the costs could continue to increase without any certainty about the outcome.
What was particularly disappointing was that the only response I received was, "We can only apologise." Unfortunately, an apology does little to justify being asked to pay hundreds of pounds simply to investigate a fault further.
To make matters worse, a friend later looked at the issue and found that it was a relatively simple problem that could be fixed easily.
The customer service experience was equally disappointing. The lady on the reception desk appeared to have very little knowledge of the situation and was unable to answer even basic questions. Communication throughout the process was poor, and I felt largely ignored. When I was speaking to her, she would not even make eye contact, which came across as dismissive and disrespectful. Rather than listening to my concerns or trying to help, she seemed uninterested in assisting me at all.
Knowing that I was taking my car to a Hyundai dealership in Colne, I expected the fault to be dealt with properly and without unnecessary complications. Instead, I left feeling frustrated, out of pocket, and no closer to a clear solution.
I appreciate that modern vehicle diagnostics can be complex and time-consuming, but charging such significant amounts for investigation alone, without providing a clear path to a solution, is not the level of customer service I expected. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this dealership.

She explained everything cleanly about the technical side of things and gave me a competitive deal, But most importantly, it took me a month to make up my mind on buying,and Alison never called me once so no hard selling or chasing me up. Giving me plenty of time to make upper my mind all in all very happy with Hyundai west riding Colne.

Lovely welcome from the staff my car was efficiently serviced.Been using West Riding Colne for a number of years we used to deal with VW but they got very expensive.Here at Colne there’s reasonable prices and good service plans and you’re not ripped off.

I recently bought an 18 months old 1 owner Hyhundai Tucson hybrid from Westriding Hyhundai Colne. The problem i have with my car is that the bonnet has micro blisters covering approx 2 square feet in area under the paintwork which can both be seen and felt with your fingers. Looking from a distance they are hard too see. This doesn't alter the fact that they are still there and look a mess. When I took the car back to the dealership for them to examine they acknowledged the problem, took photos of the milage, vin number, reg, etc along with actual photos of the blisters themselves. After a week or so they contacted me and advised me that to rectify the problem would cost me £600 +. I obviously refused point blank and said that I wasn't going to pay anything and that I wanted it sorted out under the cars 5 years warranty, which obviously still has quite a long time to run. Their answer was that they had contacted Hyhundai UK and that they said that it's not covered by their warranty. You can just imagine how i now feel being the owner of a car that cost me just under £28000 with this problem. When I decide at some point in the future to part exchange my car again i can imagine having what I'm allowed in PX being reduced quite heavily if they pick up on this paint problem. The Customer service that I received from Westriding Hyhundai Colne dealership has been abysmal. no sentiment whatsoever to their customers. As regards ever dealing with this company again I certainly will not. I will get my servicing done at another Hyhundai dealership not too far away from where I live and has really excellent customer service satisfaction reviews. Reading the many other online negative reviews about the Westriding group there seems to be a general lack of customer service experience from other customers that happen to have issues with their car's. Not at all a good experience, stay clear.

I am so sorry to hear George Bedford problems. I have been dealing with the Colne branch now for more than 10 years and without any issues. Courtesy cars are not always easy to provide and I normally make suitable arrangements. If the total waiting time for a courtesy car is around 12 weeks, then how serious is the problem?
Be careful when booking a Courtesy Car
After buying a £22,000 car in June found the sales department very good and was so pleased with my purchase. BUT it has since developed a problem and living out of the area needed a Courtesy car as they needed a day to sort out this issue. So had to wait 6 weeks before they could book me in when a car became available. The car was due to go on Wednesday to sort out the problem. But received a phone call today to say that no Courtesy car was available and have now have to wait another 6 weeks before they can now sort out my issue. Very unhappy and disappointed with the after sales service. Be aware!!

New Hyundai Santa Fe
I initially visited West Riding Hyundai in Colne to view a used Santa Fe. During my visit I talked to Sean Larner about my options re purchase. He was very helpful and after leaving the dealership I decided to reach out to several local dealers with a view to purchasing a new vehicle. Sean and West Riding Hyundai pretty much matched all of the deals I was offered within my area. Of course, the price is only part of purchasing a new vehicle albeit a very important one. Sean made the process very easy. He’s an approachable, straight up guy. Everything he said he’d do he did, no bull. I really liked that. West Riding Hyundai Coln is a small friendly dealership staffed with dog loving (and owning) people that did not just look after us but looked after our dog as well. On collection the car was prepped very well and Sean spent some time walking me through some of the features of the car which I really appreciated.
I’ve had the Santa Fe for around a week now and driven over six hundred miles of motorway, fast A roads and twisty B roads and the car has performed really well. The on-board technology is a bit daunting but that’s something all new car buyers from any brand will have to deal with in the future. I’m starting to get used to it and switching off some of the more intrusive systems. The quality of the fit and finish is, quite frankly, amazing. It’s a lovely car to ride in with a huge amount of space. The leather seats are gorgeous and the huge wrap around digital dash is eye popping. The engine is very quiet and road noise quite subdued. Petrol consumption is still quite high, but hey, the car weighs over two tons, so what can you realistically expect. Hybrids always use more fuel in the cold weather and it will probably get better as the miles increase. All in all, it’s a great all-round, quite luxurious, package that I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase again.
