£145 !! We've stayed in much better hotels for less money, and we'll never stay here again

We were allocated room 3 in the grandly named 'Oasthouse Lodge', which was a high-ceiling room with two single beds on the ground floor and a double bed on a wooden mezzanine.
There were two windows approximately 10 feet high with curtains and curtain pulls, however on one window there was only one cord which did not work, and we couldn't reach to close the curtains fully. A third (lower) window had curtains on a metal curtain pole, which fell down as we closed the curtains but thankfully did not injure my wife.
There were no instructions for operating the TV, and we could not work out how to select terrestrial channels. More by luck than judgement we managed to 'piggy-back' on someone else's Netflix and YouTube channels so at least we had some entertainment.
In the bathroom, there was a lot of old soap scum behind the bath taps, which appeared to have not not been cleaned for quite a while. The shower gel container provided was devoid of any labelling so there was no indication as to whether it was for hair and body or just body, nor any listing of ingredients for anyone with sensitive skin. The shower curtain was old and had (presumably) old soap staining along the bottom foot or so. The vertical height adjustment rod on the wall holding the shower head was not fully fixed to the wall, and fell off the wall completely. We were able to put it back in place, however the height adjustment would not lock in place and the shower head would only shimmy back down to the lowest point each time.
Although there are several choices of pubs and restaurants for food, the White Lion itself has a very limited menu of pizzas, nachos, wings and wedges.

And finally - we were in a small block of four rooms at the back of the hotel. We were woken three times by very loud guests coming in between 0130 and 0300 (presumably from a wedding or something) with loud conversation outside our door in the hallway accompanied by much slamming of doors. This of course was not the hotel's fault.
