Amazing… spectacular, SAFE

We have just had the most amazing flight in a balloon, Andy the pilot was brilliant also the backup team. The take off was wonderful, the landing so smooth, we had beautiful views, Andy was full of information, you could see the experience he had, this was our third attempt to fly, you can see why the weather plays such a big part in whether or not for safety you will fly, that surely is the reason why flights are cancelled. Helping with getting the balloon blown up and helping after, putting it back in its bag ready for the next flight. It was truly spectacular. Diane & Ryan Sherwood

Absolute Crooks! Avoid!

Absolute Crooks!! Avoid avoid avoid! I had paid for 3 flights even paid to upgrade these. Each flight i’d booked got cancelled even on the most pristine of days when other balloons could be seen in flight. They have now said that my voucher has expired (by a few days!!) so I have to pay again for renewal! Awful customer service, awful policy and a big money making scam for them! Avoid!

What an experience!!!

For my 90th birthday I was given a ticket for a balloon trip in August 2021 and after numerous attempts, we took off yesterday, 26th April, It was worth the wait. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone.The views over Derbyshire were amazing. The crew were very friendly and helpful. Thank you Perhaps I will have a repeat on my 100th!!!Thanks especially to the pilot for a very smooth landing.

Meant to be an anniversary gift in June. Every booking I've made has been cancelled. 12 month voucher but given winter it's more like 8 months. They've used every excuse in the book including a backlog of pre COVID bookings. Perhaps don't be be so greedy taking new orders and deal with existing customers first.

Highly professional company with experienced crew.

Flew with wickers world may 2022 and would thoroughly recommend them. I had been waiting around 2yrs to fly (obviously it being weather dependent) however the company honoured my voucher the whole time and were very helpful in rearranging when necessary. On the day I found the pilot (Andy) and ground crew (James and Simon) to be very pleasant guys and exemplary in their efficiency with great attention paid to customer safety. Overall, having experienced staff made the operation feel very well organised and professional which is what you want. We were lucky enough to have an evening flight from Tissington and the views were utterly spectacular, I had been wanting to go for literally years and when we finally got in the air I was thrilled!! Ballooning is a joy for photography too as it is very steady and travels quite slowly.

Some people have left bad reviews due to having to cancel, unfortunately the weather is the weather and some patience is needed. I waited two years and the experience was well worth it so I would say hang in there as the peak district from the air is very impressive and worth holding out for!

Well this was the 3rd time we've been…

Well this was the 3rd time we've been let down we paid up full for all 6 places in a hot air balloon it's official it's the hottest day of the year the wind speed is well below what wicker say you can't fly in two days earlier two balloon's flew over our house in temperatures lower than today in winds higher than today so can only come to one conclusion the pilot fancied a long bank holiday weekend break from flying. It's the bull on the phone they give you for not flying that disappointed me (HOTTEST DAY OF THE YEAR)

Parcel gate...

Im still waiting for my parcel from yesterday, found the tracking number from the text i got, saying it had been delivered. Tracking number is 2247564253400. Ive been in all day yesterday and today and no delivery at all> ive tried to track it, to no avail, because it says its been delivered and i didnt get a note and not signed for anything.....

An amazing experience with superb staff …

We had a fantastic balloon flight last night, it was amazing. We had our first one cancelled due to the weather, but well worth the wait. People need to understand for safety reasons they can only fly in only slight wind which in the uk doesn’t happen very often. Andrew our pilot was great and James and the rest of the ground team were fab. We took off from Tissington in Derbyshire the views were out of this world. We’d definitely do another we has a great experience. From arriving in a cow field 🤣and helping set the balloon up to been taken back to our cars in there defenders was the most memorable experience that we’ll never forget. Thank you so much wickers world and maybe fly with you in future. Definitely would recommend Sean & Lucy

Fantastic Day…

Had a really enjoyable day out on Monday with Andy, Carl,James, it was a first class experience, took a few trys to get on this ride with weather and covid,but was well worth the wait, it was so well organised from start to finish,and the views were fantastic,thank you all for a very nice day, cannot wait for another trip now with Wickers World

Well worth the wait!

We eventually flew on our exclusive for 2 flight after several years of bad luck with the weather. Wickers World have been more than understanding and helpful in keeping our voucher open for well beyond the 12months we first bought it.
When we arrived at about 0615 at Aston Marina they we just setting up the balloon, John came straight over and welcomed us. Once ready he got us on board and explained the safety bits and anything else we needed to know.
Through the flight John was really chatty and pleasant, happy to answer questions and explain things in between the burner. The flight is a very unique feeling, peaceful and steady - like sailing through the air. It was quite a low cloud base, so we didn't go as high as we could have but I don't feel it detracted at all as you spend most of the time looking down at what your flying over rather than up or out. We flew for about an hour and a half before landing on a field. We were met there by the ground crew who had tracked us via a radio. We helped to pack the balloon (by no means mandatory but part of the experience) as best we could with the social distancing rules. We were then dropped back at our car just after 0930. We are looking forward to see the flight video and pictures.

Worcester autumn flight

Took off from Worcester racecourse and headed North. On the first autumnal morning it was quite cool but atmospheric with some low lying mist. Jon was a very good pilot and it was really interesting to find how the wind changes at different altitudes in both strength and direction. Landing was very smooth but we had to change fields because of a switch in the wind. Nothing is predictable and you feel a sense of freedom. Packing up the balloon was fun.
Like other people we had several dates cancelled due to conditions. It is worth looking at a long range forecast but, of course, safety will always be the deciding factor so you have to be flexible. Many thanks for great service experience

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE

This was our fifth attempt which we started to book in May this year so overall not to bad when you consider the weather we’ve been having. Please be patient because it’s well worth the wait !

Our flight took off from a location just outside Buxton in the high peaks, we arrived early so that we could participate in getting the Ballon ready for flight
Our Captain, Andy and his crew were really friendly and helpful, we felt very relaxed and assured

The Ballon trip itself was an experience never to forget , the weather was perfect , we took off around 06.30 with a gentle breeze that took us over some of the most beautiful parts of the Peak District, what a great pilot , Andy raised and lowered the Ballon in and out of the ridges and Valleys to give us spectacular views and then ascended up to into the sky to give us all even more stunning views over the Peak District . Also the peacefulness, floating above farms and listing to the animals, great memories

We was in the air for approximately one and a half hours and covered a distance of approximately twenty five miles , landing was very controlled , He He He , almost disappointing !

Great Experience, would highly recommend it

FULL OF HOT AIR!

Unless you are retired/unemployed/available at very short notice, then a Wickers World voucher is not for you.

Our voucher was bought way back in 2010 and we must have attempted to book a flight almost 20 times over the next few years – each and every time cancelled due to the weather. To use their own analogy, it was like being given a gym membership and trying very hard to use it, but finding the gym closed every time! To be fair, the company sent us text messages with last minute availability but, due to our work patterns, none were of any use. At the time, we were told we had attempted to make more bookings than anyone else.

Our attempts stopped a few years ago due to long term illness and family bereavement (ballooning was not a priority to say the least), only to be told the vouchers had expired when we recently tried to re-book. Surprise surprise, they do not offer refunds – even partial. You should see how Wickers World respond to criticism! What would be really good (and kinder) is if Wickers World could notify you when your voucher is about to expire.

My advice would be to book several airline tickets for the price of one Wickers World voucher for a guaranteed (and most likely safer) aerial view of the countryside.

We flew from Tissington in Derbyshire…

We flew from Tissington in Derbyshire at the weekend and it was amazing! Andy the pilot and the ground team were all really friendly and helpful. Amazing experience and would love to go again!
Although it did take us around a year to make it up in the balloon following cancellations due to the weather it was definitely worth the wait. It was made clear at the time of booking that it can take a few attempts, and that the weather has to be quite specific and this wasn’t a problem for us. Thanks for a wonderful trip

This company will take your money and…

This company will take your money and cancel your flight over and over again. They will take extra money to upgrade you and then never fly and never give you a refund either.

Horrible people to speak to on the phone really rude.

This company are a scam, only taking a few people up on flights. OVER SUBSCRIBED by sales to BUY A GIFT they will never catch up with people who have paid for a flight as its simply not possible.

STOP SELLING flights until you have honoured the people who are outstanding a flight.

THREE YEARS trying to book and never got a flight. Disgraceful.

BUYER BEWARE

BUYER BEWARE . It’s Very difficult for visitors to get a Handel on the location . They don’t give you any certainty if flights are going ahead or where the destination will be until 4pm day before .. we booked accommodation in Chester cost us 400 pounds per night to stay then we were told flight was in whichester not in Chester by then it was too late to change our accommodation or get another hotel . They couldn’t care less they said we forfeited our tickets which was 200 pounds and then told us we should have gotten a taxi which would cost us more money we didn’t have.?plus as self employed people we lost a days work that’s a total of 3000 pounds spent on nothing!!! . They made no effort to refund us or give us a rebook the office was very rude to deal with and obviously used to people complaining and Jon was very disinterested in making our experience better he basically said he tried calling and you obviously couldn’t care to show up. If that was the case why would we spend 3000 pounds to get there !!!! They are very bad to deal with you can not organise yourself at a moment notice to be there at venue you don’t know where at 6am with this company it’s really bad and we are all very upset over it and we warn everyone to stay away from this company !!!!!

21 Attempts and we made it

A great experience and I would recommend it to anyone. We flew for an hour and a quarter from Trentham Gardens and landed near Sandon Hall with great views across Staffordshire.

For all of those that give it negative reviews because of cancelled flights, use some common sense. We live in England, the weather is temperamental and hot air ballooning can only happen under the best conditions. There's no point in complaining that flights are cancelled because of the weather - it's for your safety!

The weather was never on our side. It took us 21 attempts to get on a flight, but there's nothing anyone can do about it. If you want an instant hot air balloon trip then I suggest booking it in a country where the weather is perfect all year round

This balloon flight was supposed to…

This balloon flight was supposed to have been a Christmas present from my partner in 2016. So far every date booked has been cancelled , we have got into the practice of checking on different days whether the flight is taking place even on days when conditions appear to be good only to find that on every occasion flights have been cancelled for any number of reasons we are beginning to think that this is a rip off and are considering contacting the consumer protection authorities .

Buyer beware

Buyer beware - THIS COMPANY WILL HAPPILY RIP YOU OFF.

I purchased tickets for midweek balloon flights and tried to book multiple times. Each time they cancelled.

Then they tried to say my vouchers weren't valid despite their terms and conditions stating they were fine. The staff are rude and will go to any means to try and get more money off you.

Flights get cancelled at the drop of a hat and in the end I had to threaten court action to get a refund. Over a years worth of hassle for nothing.

Jon Rudoni the director and chief pilot is also a real charmer his parting words to me:

"I was looking forward to going to a small claims court. What a shame. Well see what happens next"

Do not use this company!
