Rang these guys about selling my 21 GSA l250 .. and also that I’d want to purchase a new Tenere World Raid . Sent pics and details of my bike they contacted me several times requesting same info …. Rang with a sH one Tea offer on my bike then rang back with an updated offer still a daft amount ! As yet no contact or mention of the purchase of new T7 . Not impressed ….. their follow up reply to my review shows how PP this dealer is ! The 1 star rating wasn’t for the price offered for my bike it’s the fact nobody had contacted me re the purchase of a new bike a T7 . #seetitleofreviewWOW

Paul was awesome. Gave loads of info on the bike I was interested in over the phone, you could here the enthusiasm in his voice. Helped with finance options and used WhatsApp so we could exchange documents/paperwork easily and quickly. About a week later I was having my gleaming new(ish) Yamaha delivered.
I've had the bike for a month now and I'm completely in love with it.
Excellent customer service from the entire team but big shout to Paul. I'll definitely be coming back here when it's time to change bikes!
Just had a warranty claim re spokes on my Yamaha through these. Cannot fault their response and helpfullness.
Excellent service from Kris. Very patient and knowledgeable in answering all my questions. Not pushy when it comes to sales, more concerned about me having the right bike rather than grabbing the sale. I have no problem recommending Kris and Wigan Yamaha
I have recently purchased a 2018 reg FJR from here. It's been a bit of a mixed experience to be honest. There are a few issues I have had with the purchase. One of the biggest issues I had was the lack of communication.
I was promised to be kept informed by the sales representative that dealt with me. Granted I know all bike dealerships are busy but for someone not to get back to you for several days meaning I was effectively having to chase down progress on my bike, I thought it was a bit much.
Times when I did ring, the other representatives were more than helpful but no buyer should have to chase a dealership to get an update after not being contacted for several days. The process of trying to purchase the bike lasted almost three weeks because of this.
I bought the bike based on the pictures and video sent across from the dealership.
To be fair the condition of the bike is as described. What I took issue with was that when the bike was demonstrated to me in the demo video there was a tyre pressure monitoring system fitted whereas when the bike was delivered to me it was missing. I questioned it and was told by the sales representative that they hadn't advertised the bike as having the system in the ad and that they removed it from the bike as it wasn't working. It was clearly working when it was demonstrated in the salesman's video to me so therefore it should have been included. If there was an issue with it, this should have also been explained to me instead of relying on me to ring and question it. For a purchase price of £12,500 on a bike I felt it was a bit much.
The bike has also arrived with no user manual. Given its a 3yr old bike and coming from a Yamaha dealership I felt this was pretty poor.
To sum up my experience, would I buy from Wigan Yamaha again?
No. I was told by their sales representative that they pride themselves on their customer care.
If you think what I received was excellent customer care it is quite frankly delusional. For a Yamaha dealership, customer care should be alot better than this.
Edit.
I want to amend this review, as although I have had the experiences as outlined above, management of Wigan Yamaha have since been in touch to address the issues I highlighted.
As a goodwill gesture they have sent me a new user manual and sent me the missing tyre pressure system. I since have installed it on the bike and I am pleased to say it is working fine.
Thanks for taking the time to email me to address these issues.
Took bike for first service traveled 100 miles arrived at 9 o'clock greeted by gavin.told me bike would be an hour. So thanks to gavin and team, can't wait to visit again. All the best mick 👍
Having dealt with u guys 3 times now you all were really helpful honest and above all very straight to deal with G Egner
Having bought new bikes through the same group since 2007 I’ve always trusted this group and always recommended anyone to use Wigan or Chorley until recently. I bought a second hand Super Tenere 1200 at the end of March. I didn’t test ride it as I know these bikes and it’s from a main dealer but noticed one fork seal was leaking and the rear tyre was absolutely square but granted it was within the legal limit so I didn’t ask for any deal or lower price only the fork seal done and new tyres. Two weeks later when I called to see if the bike was ready I was told the manger said no way to new tyres as the ones on there where legal. I was then quoted for a new set that where ‘trade’ price but was over £100 more expensive than my local bike shop. Eventually they gave in and fitted a rear tyre only but made me feel so uncomfortable like I was creating big issues but on a £8.5k,5 year old bike I was expecting better. Picked the bike up, rode it 5 miles to my partners house and kept it there for 3 days. Went to start it to go home and battery was dead. AA called out who confirmed battery was finished, couldn’t call as they where closed. New battery fitted at my cost to get me home. On the ride home within a few motorway miles I noticed the handle bars felt bent but I thought I’d rather get the bike checked out at a independent workshop now as Wigan Yamaha made me feel so awkward about the new tyres. When buying a bike it should be a happy experience but this wasn’t. It gets worse, after the motorway ride I open the throttle for the first time and the clutch was slipping on high revs. I went back to Wigan the next day with my car and was promised they would collect the bike as soon as possible. Another week went by and I had to chase them again but I’d taken the bike for a independent inspection who confirmed the bike had been crashed heavily with poor repairs and the clutch was gone. Bike was picked up a week and a half later and was with them for another week to fit a new clutch and handle bars. After only 1500 miles it burnt another battery but haven’t bothered with Wigan Yamaha and just got it done locally so in over 10 weeks of ownership the bike has spent 8 weeks in a garage being repaired! Very disappointed as I’ve had to spend over £1k of my own money to get the bike right. Very disappointed
18 month old bike in for warranty issue. Didn't hear back from them so called for an update.
Part ordered but could take 5 days.
Call back the next week for update to see if part has arrived. Part has to come from Japan now will take up to 10 weeks.
I asked for a loan bike. They said they don't have any as Yamaha have taken them off them. I asked what they were going to do to help.
Paul from the dealership then said "well what do you want me to do weld it?"
I said I just wanted it fixed properly. So he then said.
"well I couldn't weld it anyway as it's Aluminium!"
So I asked him why suggest that then. He mumbled something.
Then I said I have found the part in stock in the UK in a couple of places. Fowlers being one of them. He then suggested he has to adhere to his supply chain as he could go to jail!
I told him he was being silly now and talking nonsense To this he told me cant do anything.
These guys think it's acceptable to leave you without a bike for 3 months and give you a mouthful of lies.
Don't spend a penny with them!
Update: I contacted the dealer via email to ask that the general manager gives me a call.
Instead this same guy Paul called back to tell me he didn't mumble and to keep writing my little reviews on the internet!.
He then slammed the phone down on me!
Unbelievable experience. don't bother with the whole brand. Buy a KTM instead!
Excellent service from the guys at Wigan Yamaha.
Mark in sales was very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Paul who delivered the bike was helpful and a very nice chap.
Thanks very much
Picked up my fjr1300 after all the recalls have been done.the technicians have done a fantastic job gearbox as smooth as silk and runs fantastic.well done to all involved
Found what model I was looking for online at Wigan Yamaha and completed the purchase without seeing the bike online due to lockdown. Both Rob and Dougie who I dealt with were very efficient and quick to respond to my queries and the bike was delivered this morning by Dave who was also very pleasant and efficient. The bike is in great condition as promised and the whole experience was hassle free and Wigan were a pleasure to do business with so would highly recommend to anyone.
Great experience from start to finish. Staff were very friendly and helpful and not at all pushy like some dealerships. Saw they'd had a low milage one owner Thruxton R come in so popped up just to look at it. Ended up putting a deposit on it that day, they held it for the month then paid the balance the week before I collected. They serviced it before I collected it too. Been 4700 trouble free miles one year on.
I recently purchased a Yamaha 900 GT Tracer and dealt with Keon who I have to say was very knowlegable and a joy to have dealt with. Thanks to everyone involved for the getting the bike ready and arranging it to be collected quickly. I am absolutely happy with my choice. Many thanks.
Locked in, self isolated, miserable, to cheer myself up i bought a bike, unseen, from Wigan yamaha. It arrived yesterday, its great. The service i received was great, from James, Keon, Robert in the showroom and even Andy the delivery man was brilliant. Top people, thanks again
Last year my Yamaha TMax developed an alarm fault as I was about to catch the IOM ferry for the Classic Manx.
Carole Nash rescue took me to Wigan Yamaha and their techs immediately
set to and stripped the alarm and the bike was ready to go in 2 hours.
The bill was half what I expected and so it was all good news - and I caught the evening ferry.
Excellent staff and service.
Went in for some advice, unsure on my next bike, came out with an awesome deal on a brand new bike. Been back for service and wouldn't go anywhere else.
Always get a very friendly efficient service whether that be from sales, after sales or service department.
I bought a bike from wigan yamaha on a part exchange deal and I have never had such an easy, efficient, friendly and professional service provided to me even down to a non yamaha after market fog bulb replacement 2 weeks after purchase.
I cannot rate wigan yamaha highly enough and will use them again in the future for my next bike and will recommend them to my friends and family.
I would also like to pay thanks to James who was friendly and professional and who was the representation to customers of the whole of wigan yamaha. Thanks
I've bought several Yamaha's from Wigan Yamaha in recent years - and i found the process was very professional and efficient. I've mainly dealt with James in sales -but everyone from the service team to the delivery guy has been brilliant.
If you are in the market for a new Yamaha, give these guys a try first...5 Stars all the way Wigan Yamaha!!
