We had a fantastic experience with Wightlink Isle of Wight Ferries from start to finish on the busy bank holiday Sunday (24th of May). The booking process on their website was intuitive and... See more

I live on the IOW and am ashamed of Wight Link and their practices. Firstly the cost of travel is extortionate, they wanted £344 return , more than a return ticket to France. Why they even send out co... See more

We are the main link between the Isle of Wight and the mainland. Every year, we carry over 4.6 million passengers, making us one of the UK’s largest domestic ferry operators. We provide Island residents with an easy and frequent service to the mainland, as well as giving millions of holidaymakers a taste of Island life. Crossings take approximately 22 minutes by catamaran and from 40 minutes by car ferry. And we operate three convenient routes and just under 46,000 crossings a year. We are also dedicated to giving excellent customer service and the best facilities on board and at our Terminals. As most people who travel to and from the Island do so with us, we are truly a part of Island life. We are proud to support IOW communities wherever we can, from sports sponsorship to local regeneration projects. And we offer Isle of Wight residents great value Multilink Pass tickets, making travel to the mainland easy and affordable.

Total rip off.
Total rip off.
Was considering a trip to the Isle of Wight in the summer. Return ferry from Portsmouth to Fishbourne over £350! Can fly to Greece and back for less than that!
Shocking service and shocking prices
Shocking service and shocking prices. Always late or cancelled yet the green pie charts always tell a different story!
If they are not busy they mysteriously are cancelled for a variety of made up reasons. The wightlink book of excuse’s must be a sight to behold and I think they have used every single one!! They work as a duopoly with the other shocking ferry service to hold the island to ransom, killing opportunity and economy. All they care about is profit.
The cost of the ferries are…
The cost of the ferries are extortionate.
There are frequent cancelations and delays.
This company pollute the water and air…
This company pollute the water and air whilst over charging a vulnerable and captive market. Extortionate ferry prices mean we stay poorer and the ferry company gets richer. This company are scum bags for putting profits before people.
Rude to customers If you request to be…
Rude to customers If you request to be near lift/access to ramp on check in. This is a repeat issue I have with Wightlink. The online form is completed by myself in enough time before travelling. Check in staff are rude and insensitive to needs when requested.
We live on the Island and travel…
We live on the Island and travel weekly. Service is always excellent. I can see most negative comments here are price driven. Yes it's not cheap, but presumably you have a choice as a visitor. Watch for discount vouchers and choose non peak times and of course book in advance.
Held to ransom yet again... damm pirates
Held to ransom yet again.
Will someone please rescue us from these pirates, at least Red Funnel are doing day returns cheap at 47.50.
Cheaper to have a wip round and buy a ferry ⛴️

Prices are just ridiculous
Prices are just ridiculous. Us islanders have no choice but to use these companies to get off the island and they know it… so they hike their prices up. If you need to pop to a shop, hospital appointment or go holiday it’s a massive chore but to have to plan the whole day out around the ferries. What makes it better is most of the time they’re running late or cancelled. Our last holiday was so stressful trying to get back to the last midnight boat otherwise we were stuck for hours because Wightlink don’t think there’s any demand for late night foot passenger crossing. We ended up have it to run to a taxi off our train to run and get it. Always a stress.
Absolute rip of merchants!!!
Absolute rip of merchants!!!
Charging overpriced fares for islanders and visitors alike.
The company has you over a barrel as it’s the only way on and off the island unless you have the money to have your own boat.
Always cancellations and delays, given the price you expect a smooth service.
About time they looked at amending their prices especially to islanders.
Very expensive for a 40 minute journey
Very expensive for a 40 minute journey. Also a cold and uncomfortable area to sit with our Dog. The staff were polite enough but couldn’t give us and information as to why our sailing was delayed.
Insanely expensive
The prices are insane. People who usually visit us aren't coming this summer because they can't justify over £200 for a return ferry. You can consistently get to France cheaper. How they can justify it is beyond me.
The simple cost and poor timetable of…
The simple cost and poor timetable of the ferries has led both my children to move off the island. They won’t be able to afford to come back often. This island is going to lose the vibrancy and future success if other young people follow.
Extortionate pricing
The extortionate prices are pricing my family and I out of being able to visit friends and family on the mainland, go on days out etc. The pricing has completely hiked since this time last year with no visible improvement to service or the schedule. The ferry companies are taking advantage of having a monopoly over the crossing of water and something needs to be done about them to hold them to account. Where is our MP? Oh and did you realise they’re allowed to charge what they want because the Isle of Wight isn’t classed as an island by our government….
All ferries to the Isle of Wight are overpriced
All ferries to the Isle of Wight are extremely overpriced. The companies should be nationalised and the services subsidised.
Absolutely disgusting service from this company
Absolutely disgusting service from this company. How can they warrant charging these ridiculous prices. Will never use them again. And the prices on board are also far too expensive. Feel sorry for the people of the Isle of Wight. This should not be allowed

Extremely overpriced
Extremely overpriced, especially on bank holidays , kid’s holidays as they now we need to get of the island, I think personally this is a crime, and a government should step in, because we don’t have other ways to get to mainland and ferry operators using it!!!
Worst website for booking tickets.
Worst website for booking tickets.
Took over an hour with a need repeatedly input information.
If this is the only way to the Isle of Wight, this year will be our last ever holiday there.
No one need this agro.
