I placed an order for a large ticket item for a Christmas present for my son in Washington state. The order was placed online. I received delivery confirmation and found it was sent to a completely different address in New Jersey. When I called Williams Sonoma customer service, they said they would handle it. Four more phone calls later I ended up in the billing department who said they would not handle it and I would be responsible for the charges. That it was not their fault. Even though they do admit to accepting the phone call from the perpetrator apparently and changing the ship to name address and erasing the gift message. I can’t believe Company could do this to a consumer and stick them with the charges for an item they did not receive. I am in communication with the Credit Card Company trying to resolve it. But there is no guarantee. Do not order from Williams Sonoma. They are not a reputable company. They do not have good customer, service management or communication. They are not on the side of the customer at all. Be careful Amazon is a much better choice in every situation. They always take care of the customer every time.

First time customer, they had a beautiful description. Saw these a year ago, were sold out - not that the website told me, I had to wait weeks for CS to reply. Now, they're back, so I order. AFTER I clicked the final buy button, the price changed substantially. These were non-refundable shipping and service charges added at no prior notice and despite an advertisement of "free shipping". No way to cancel. On arrival, the plates' design turned out to be inexpensive, digital print jobs. There's spots without any color. There's noses where a color dripped. The "gold" parts are anything but. Never had I expected that discount stuff after ordering at artisan pricepoint, PLUS unannounced, non-refundable fees.
Your local Walmart has better prices if this is what you're after. I expect a decent quality from a decently run mill.

Bought the same dishtowels that I have bought for years and years. This time the fabric is thinner and really lints up in the washer/dryer. Also I normally buy the dishtowels and dishcloths, as well at potholders and striped apron, all in the same color all at the same time. This time - in lemon yellow - I was able to buy the dishcloths only. And an apron in coordinating colors which wrinkles in the dryer. Also thin fabric. Prices raised - quality decreased - selection decreased. I used to think Williams Sonoma was a bit upscale. Not any more.

Very hard to find the price you paid…
Very hard to find the price you paid for orders and past orders on their website. They seem to bury that information on purpose. You have to click 5-6 different things to get there. If you want to verify what you paid for something, say, like 6 months ago, to compare to the current price on their website, they almost hide the "what you paid" information behind a wall/series of clicks, almost hiding the links. This is clearly on purpose.
Recently I bought an item that said it was good for serving cheese and charcuterie on in the item description on their site. When it arrived it had a big sticker that said "not food safe" and further explained it could cause sickness if used for food service... I phoned them and told them they should update their web page. Did they do that? Nope. They still sell this item as a food service device.

I had been a loyal customer for many years, but recently their customer service has been atrocious at best! Bought a Hestan pan for our daughters birthday back in August. Fast forward to the end of October, and It still has not been delivered. I recieved a bunch of excuses and apologies, but NO satisfaction on getting the product delivered. I also ordered Punkin paws for Holloween back in August, they now show a delivery date of November 29th. Who want's holloween candy in the end of November.
BUYER BEWARE.....don't pay the extravagant prices for sub par service. Not sure what's happening at Williams & Sonoma, but whatever it is, it is not in the consumers best interest!

I ordered items over a month ago. At the time they said they were in stock. I have only received 1/3 of the order. It says on the website that I have received all of it. Constant calls and follow ups. Who has time for this. The website has no record of the order so have to forward the email with the order I got from them!!!

Just tried to place the order over the phone, spent 30 min on the call with SUPERstupid agent, I had to verify my address 8 times, bcs it was “on previous page”; after that she started yelling and me and kept saying “I’m not yelling at you, I’m not that type if person” and after 30 min she hang up on me! Item never showed up, now delayed for three months. No communication. Had to chase multiple times, hours on hold. The worst customer service I've ever received.
TERRIBLE Customer Service & Delivery
The Appointment time was initially scheduled between 10:30am-12:30pm , and the day before it was updated to 11:30am-1:30pm. We called William Sonoma multiple times throughout the day of the Delivery to try to get an idea of how far away we were on the schedule since we ( Designers for the Project ) would have to drive 1 hour to get to the residence and accept the delivery. Had a TERRIBLE time getting through to anyone...we must have called at least 5 times and been on hold for an hour before someone even answered. When we finally did get a person on the phone, the customer service attendants lacked the most basic competency for even the simplest inquiries - they were completely disorganized and every person had a different story that didn't match with the last. Finally at 1:00pm we spoke to the last person in the dispatch sector, which was a disappointment as well . They told us the drivers would arrive at " 12:29pm " , without even thinking about the fact that it was already past 1:00pm....At this point, they had nothing else to say and told us the drivers were running late but we were the next stop and the Drivers would call us 30 mins in advance to let us know when they were coming ( as typical per delivery call-aheads ), then put us on hold and hung up the phone on us. At 1:45pm, WITHOUT receiving any calls AT ALL - the drivers pulled in and arrived at the residence. We asked the Driver why we did not receive a 30 minute call-ahead and he simply said "he didn't do it and didn't know why he didn't"...... He had no reason as to why they were late nor to why he didn't fulfill his job of calling the customer. It 's understandable that deliveries get delayed and timing gets pushed back, but not informing the customer is completely unacceptable in addition to not fulfilling the basic task of providing a 30 minute heads up call as stated in the William Sonoma Delivery protocol ( same as the Industry Standard for almost any furniture delivery ). We will probably never again purchase from William Sonoma given this experience. This is a huge company and it seems like the employees have had no training or guidance as to how to manage their responsibilities.
You will save money if you don’t buy from this company.
Way overpriced. The price sticker on the backside of the item I purchased was $54.95 and I was charged $64.95. Plus there was a shipping charge which I thought as free. Called and was told it was on sale last month and it was an old sticker. Will never buy from them again. Had a gift certificate for many years (never used it because I knew they were so overpriced) that I finally used. In addition to be massively overcharged, I received so many new unsolicited emails that I had to unsubscribe from so they are selling their customer list. A low-class company that strives to be high end. You can find your item for less on other sites.

Customer service is the worst I ever experienced in my entire life no disputing this. I placed an order for a very expensive toaster but instead i received a pack of cheap spatulas from someone's registry and apparently sent the person from that registry my toaster. I immediately called their customer service and the woman on phone apologized said its not worth returning the spatulas she is going to just refund me because the toaster wasn't in stock now. I figured... ok mistakes happen no big deal and i instead just ordered the toaster from Amazon and got it the next day which i should of done in the first place thinking about it now. This is when the nightmare began for months i went back and forth trying to resolve this . They would tell me its taken cared of then it would show up again as an authorization on my bank card. This went on for months finally i called my bank and they reversed the charge and I thought i was done. I swore i would never deal with them again. Months later there was a waffle maker i wanted they had it in stock at one of their stores so I decided to take a chance and get it there against my better judgment. I was able to get the waffle maker and the staff was extremely friendly at the store so no issue there. So i got encouraged that maybe things are okay again and decided while i was there to order a blender an expensive one that they didn't have in stock at the store( I paid for it upfront btw) and thats when the nightmare started again . I get an email saying they can't process my order because i owe them money for the toaster !!!! OMG seriously ???? I call their order support first person tells me ...I owe them money and basically calls me a liar and hangs up on me. I couldn't believe it called back again I explained the situation to her . She was even ruder than the first person and actually told me I have 2 choices "Either i shut up and listen to her or she is going to hang up " I couldn't believe my ears but i listened to her she tells me in a really rude and stern voice i owe them money ...case closed either i pay it or i can never shop again with them and proceeds to hand up...AGAIN.......I called a 3rd time and this time i said please just get me a supervisor i been hung up on twice she said there is no way i can talk to a supervisor ...she can only email one and maybe they will give me a call in 24-48 hours. On top of that i can hear the other associate in the background yelling just hang up on him........Wow...i can not believe this company honestly . Please think twice before ordering online with this company.
What has happened to WS’s online site?
What has happened to WS’s online site? No more home page, goes immediately to a search bar. Also, if I enter into the site from a general google sales search (item is marked In stock there), I get a response of similar (not similar & a different brand) items that I’m not interested in. The ceramic tableware I have bought there in recent years is not performing well - easily chips. I’m looking for a different style but shopping online at WS is unwelcoming, has multiple site problems, and the pricing & shipping fees make them non-competitive with most other retailers.

purchased a mini fridge from them in november 2022. but the shipment went thru a 3rd party shipper and the shipment was delayed 4x. finally i called just to cancel the order in january 2023 after not receiving it for 2 months. asked for a refund to original payment method but they sent me a store gift card!! like i ever want to purchase anything from them after my first experience. i’ve called customer service every month since to get them to switch the gift card amount to a refund to payment method.. it’s now august 2023 and still haven’t received a refund. every agent tells me they’ll send my request to whatever department it needs to go to but nothing ever happens!! worst customer service ever. do not shop here!

I went to make an online purchase on the Williams Sonoma website. I have never in my life seen such a dishonest website. When I checked out, I was shown the amount of my purchase. However, I was not shown the shipping charge (which was 60 percent of the cost of my merchandise) or the tax until the order was completed and paid for. In other words, you will have no idea whatsoever what you total charge will be until after you pay for your order. To me, this looks like intentional fraud.

Worst customer service ever
Worst customer service ever. I ordered oven mitts as a gift, and they were not delivered as indicated. When I filed a UPS claim, the package miraculously appeared however, William Sonoma shipped the wrong item. Not only was the item I tried to order sold out, my attempt to contact a supervisor to discuss the issue was thwarted and delayed, resulting in a nearly 50 minute phone call where the customer support agent was not permitted to escalate the call to a superior. Truly the worst customer service I've experienced. It's really clear that they have no interest in customer service whatsoever and I would be very skeptical about ordering from them again.

I have spent endless hours on the phone to “customer service” reps and they ASSURED me that the issue will be dealt with.

LIES !!! I ordered a gift for my mother, paid for expedited shipping and gift wrap. It didn't arrive on time, so I called every single week for a follow up because Williams and sonoma does not provide updates. They promised me that I would be given a refund on my shipping and gift wrap. After 7 weekly phone calls, the gift was delivered almost 2 months after the fact. I called WS to follow up on my refund, and they said they "researched" it and found that bc I asked for gift wrap -- they said maybe thats why it was held up for 2 months !!!! Lastly I asked for a refund on the expedited shipping and they said they don't refund shipping even though it took 2 months to be delivered. THEY ARE THE WORST COMPANY EVER !!!!!!!
