The concept that inspired the Wingman camping method thrilled me since the beginning . A compact, durable, minimalist tent, packed with smart accessories that brings the concept of a Biker's Hotel back to life. For me, it was the beginning of a new era of thinking about motorcycle camping. Plus, with the portable BBQ, chair, table, and last but not least, Iceman... you couldn't ask for more! The only thing to think about is a system to request the side of the veranda with the veranda attached to the motorcycle. It was 10 degrees in the mountains, and the cold air woke me up. I had to get up, untied the veranda, and went back to sleep.
A part of that thank you to create something that amazing
I had seen this product on YouTube a lot. I took a leap and purchased the Toucan tent with a chair and table.
Their website was a good experience too.
I did not expect the build quality to be so good. It’s the strongest and heaviest tent I have ever purchased. Should be great to use this once the weather improves. The chair and table are also built well. Roll on spring and summer.
I bought one for my son after seeing it at the ABR Festival, it was delivered with in 4 days, then i bought a second one for myself, again arrived in 4 days, then i bought the additional poles, again 4days, very impressed with the over all dealings with them, realy recomend them.
Purchased Wingman of the Road tent prior to my Road trip to Prague. Great tent, comfy and really quick to put up and take down. Perfect for a Road trip. Although I will supplement the included sleeping bag with something a little warmer to cope with Autumn/ Winter camping. Highly recommended.
I would like it to be a little lighter and slightly less bulky but overall it is spot on and pretty much ideal for me

I read their website top to bottom and nowhere do they tell you there are going to be almost $90 in import fees after you’ve already payed almost $100 for shipping. Shady
Edit: Hiding that somewhere else on your website where nobody is looking before they make their order is NOT being transparent. Don’t act like your company is a victim. You know what you’re doing. You aren’t disclosing it because customers will choose not to buy because of it. When someone is paying almost $100 extra for shipping, they are going to assume it includes the full cost of importing the item. I’ve been wanting this item for a very long time and I finally decided to buy it despite the incredibly high price because I wanted to support a small company who made a product specifically for my needs. It appears to be a great product from everything I’ve read. I probably would have still ordered it if I had known, but the experience is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. So now, when my friends see it and ask me about it, instead of me being able to say “yeah it’s a great product, worth the money. You should get one.” I’ll have to say, “yeah it’s a great product but the company isn’t transparent about import costs and chooses to pass them on to the consumer.”

To qualify this, I have received and erected new Toucan tent but not camped in it as yet. I have been camping for 50 years and have owned many top of the range tents in all fabrics. I have never seen a build quality or fabric weight as good as the Toucan and this is best tent I’ve ever purchased. I’d be gobsmacjed if this didn’t deliver in the field based upon this quality and design. Not a big reviewer of stuff but had to comment on this.

Great staff and service, ready to answer any question to the best of their knowledge. Expedient shipping and the quality of the tent is unsurpassed. After a year of use my Toucan still looks like new, is incredibly waterproof, robust and airy. It is a bit pricey and the poles in my opinion are the weak components as I found out. The bedding for me is not comfortable but easily remedied with and extra pad or a low rise cot (my personal preference) as suggested by Mr Fillingham. As a senior with onset of arthritis this may not be the tent for you. You will find it very easy too set up but also a bit of a challenge to roll up and being somewhat on the heavy side.....not a deal breaker but something to consider. Keep in mind too that this tent is not exclusive to motorcycle camping. It is more than adequate for car camping or overlanding as well. This an all around great tent, well made by great people that truly have your camping needs in mind. Good job Wingman of the Road

Owned my Goose for a couple of years now and have used it a handful of times without issue. The dark canvass is great at blocking light, it's waterproof and warmer than a plastic tent. Although the sleeping bag isn't rated for winter camping it doesn't claim to be either.
I recently bought their fleece sleeping bag liner and awning poles that I have yet to try. One of the poles was missing a piece and they sent a new pole quickly, no issue and no cost to myself. (UK postage)
I did not review this product at the time of purchase but I've had it a while now and feel I can speak from some experience.
After reading some nonsense online recently I felt like addressing a few points.
If you think it's too heavy, I go camping with it on a 125cc Honda Grom. They also tell you exactly how much it weighs.
(you're on a motorcycle not a push bike)
If you think the packed size is too big, there are plenty of pictures and videos around and they give you the sizes on the store page.
If you think the inside is too small then a swag sleep system isn't for you. It's basically a bed roll not a living space.
If you're just buying it for your hipster aesthetic then you have to be prepared to make some compromises.
I bought mine for occasional overnighters and weekends touring Scotland and so far it has done me well.
I'm pleased to see they now offer spare poles for sale as it was a concern of mine when buying.
Overall positive experience with the product and company.

Own the Tucan and have camped one season so far ( about 30 nights in 2024.)
Pros - Excellent Sleep System - Note I did not say tent. In the US no one has heard of a Swag, so sleep system is the better description.
It is bulky, but since it has the pad, sheet, cover, and in my case an additional woobie, and a standard queen size pillow.
I strap it on the back seat or trailer and then strap my dry bags on top of it.
It takes me about 5 minute to get it out and sleep ready. If needed I can take a few more minutes to stake it down if I am not going to be in it and it is windy.
Putting it away takes practice. If on the trailer, my goal is to get it all together and watertight. If I am strapping it to bike, it takes a little longer since I am trying to get the swag as tight as possible.
My biggest complaint about it is that I oversleep!!!! Before I had the Tucan, I had to wait for exhaustion to finally fall asleep, and every little sound along with the sun coming up would wake me up. With the Tucan, I sleep like a baby and must set an alarm or I only wake up once it starts to get too warm in the tent due to the LATE MORNING sun.
Bonus - With the Tucan, you can easily rig up a 5000 btu AC at one end to make camping in the South during non winter enjoyable.
Wingman did a great job shipping the Toucan quickly. I like the canvas construction and at first glance seems to be very robust. I had the first opportunity to test in the field last weekend. Setup was easy and was impressed with the breathability and met my expectations in regards to comfortability. The problem is for the amount of money one spends on a tent in the price range, one would expect it to hold up better. While packing up, the ties on the outer black shell broke on first use with very little exertion cinching. I have to figure out a way to cinch it without tieing now. Only one tie broke away from the fabric, but it makes it even more complicated to roll up in a compact manner. Wish there was a way to address or Wingman would sell a replacement outer shell. It is only a matter of time before the other ones break. This shouldn’t happen after one use. I will try to use a bungee cord to address the tie that broke. I have also purchased the chairs and Iceman cooler and am pleased with these so far, but will say the straps on the cooler need to barely fit around the Toucan but would be perfect for the goose.
A brilliantly made product and a responsive and helpful team. Can't recommend enough.

They sell great stuff! And for Europe, you don’t pay VAT, only the import fee. Good service
